I did a lot of the same things when i first started playing too. Here's a couple tips. Crafting: use the space bar, you don't have to hold the mouse down. Keep some items in your inventory it will make placing items a whole lot easier, I usually keep 1 stack of every thing I make. Keep up the good work, and watch some youtube videos for beginners on some other tips to make the game a bit more understandable as the in game advice is lacking good tutorials. Ouch, this was painful to watch, then again? When I restarted a new game? I tapped EVERY RESORCE in the plains and used belts to make my first factory and automated plates, rods, reinforced plates, LOTS of SCREWS, rotors and frames... Problem? Massive factory STILL running on FIFTY FOUR biomass burners strung together?!? Guess WHAT I was collecting half the time? By the time I built my coal power? Biomass burners were STILL NEEDED... until I was making oil INTO fuel for electric generators.
This video reminded me what it was like to learn the game. A lot of us take the knowledge for granted after many hours in the game...

You can shift-click on the items, so you dont have to drag them into your inventory and you can control-click to move every stack of an item.

build foundations and ramps xDD you dont need to jump over terrain with ramps and you also can grab your inventory back from your death place. GL
