    Even as a child, this scene stuck with me because it suddenly felt so sad after everything that's happened. The design of that train and those tracks make it look like it's heading to nowhere forever. Those dark transparent human-looking spirits on the train, where are they going? Do they even remember?

    The train scene and some other scenes where nothing really happens show the beauty and magic of spirited away. It‘s my childhood anime, I‘ve watched it with my family and everytime I listen to pieces from it the memories return. I was also scared of Noface when I was young but at the train scene his fate began to change. Greetings from Germany :)

    The train scene is a kind of sad but in the same time calm and peaceful. Love the play!

    It is the second piece that I want to play the most after "a town with a ocean view", I break myself with the emotional charge of this piece.

    I have hoped and waited for years to hear you play this one Caliko. Absolutely sublime! That part near the end where it's the double notes in the right hand and then the left comes back in with the really low notes - it gave me goosebumps.
    I always love your videos and I will look forward to your next video, whenever it may appear. They instantly make a bad day better!

    I never notice Joe Hisaichi music when I'm watching Ghibli movies. It is such an integral part for me. Even now, listening to 'the sixth station' in the wild, this song feel unfamiliar, even though I've heard it so many times in the past. But after listening to it for a while it paints an oh so familiar picture in my head.
    Beautiful piece beautifully played.

      I'm definitely doing something with the S2 OST! Absolutely adored it, though it will probably take some time - it's tricky to play. Old Stories is my favorite so big chance it'll come first

    Hi! I would like to thank you for being you. I love coming back here and listening not only to zankyou no terror that made me fall in love here. It is beautiful how this instrument can show the lightness and emotionality of the soul. I'm 20 and thanks to you I borrow an old keyboard and I absolutely love it. I'm thinking of buying my own and being able to play as beautifully as you because you are my huge inspiration! I hope all is well with you. Thank you, we love you!

    Hi Caliko! Superb performance as usual! Btw, those pointers you said helped me tremendously! Still need a lot of practice but I think I'm improving playing piano day by day. My cat also took a liking to my piano, she looks so cute while watching me play Interstellar (beginner version ofc😂) and just doze off beside me. Do you have any advise how to improve reading notes? I feel like a child learning how to read abc. Kinda frustrating tbh haha. You've been a huge inspiration not just to me but to all of your longtime fans here I can tell. More uploads to come!😊

    • @Caliko
      @Caliko  Год назад +2

      Happy to hear it helped somewhat! If that's any consolation, reading sheet music is really, really hard, and for the longest time I'd just use it to figure out the notes slowly and then memorize it so I could play 😅 So really just take it slow, don't expect drastic improvement, but keep at it! You'll get better so long as you keep practicing, as obvious as that sounds. Whichever way you're learning to read, it'll probably work, just very slowly. Super happy you're learning to read notes at all though! Lots of beginners don't. In the long run it's such a great tool to learn pieces much quicker and more accurately.
      Good luck with your playing!

    Nice arrangement. It got me confused (in a good way) I did not check the title and my brain immediately associated it with Ghibli but then some seconds in it somehow reminded me of Midna from Twilight Princess. Midna's Theme and "Lament" are pretty awesome pieces. I haven't heard a good version played on a good piano of Midna's Lament.. yet.
    Very nice job.
    Spirited Away is a great movie, don't get me wrong but it's not the best work of Studio Ghibli imho. I know their prior works were not popular (because of circumstances and Anime just not being a popular thing in the west back then. Also if it was known it was not accepted in the broad spectrum, like for adults) but Princess Mononoke and Castle in the Sky are far superior works imho. From composing to writing those two always stood out to me from the rest. Nausicaä too.. but in a different way. The best score of all Ghibli movies is Princess Mononoke I think.. it has the most variation and broadest range in emotions.. wihch makes it very memorable. Also almost all pieces of Mononoke sound perfect, on a piano.
    But I get how important Spirited Away is for so many people. It was certainly very influential on the broadest mass of people. But the influence on the prior movies is felt all over the place if you look close enough.. especially in regards to Disney..
    I just wish we would one day be able to watch another Ghibli movie that is just about an adventure, fun and friendship.. but Miyazaki no longer has the heart to create such a movie.. (his words, not mine)
