The best build I’ve seen in a while. 👏 I was looking to buy a T4 syncro for a camper van project but I was skeptical about sleeping in it with a family of 4. After seeing your setup I will definitely give it a try. I would love to see more videos. Keep it up.

      Hi Daniel,
Thanks for your appreciation! The camper works really well. If we're staying at a campsite, we usually set up a tent; otherwise, we sleep in the van. What I like most is that everything we need is already onboard, so we only have to pack a few clothes, and off we go!
      Good luck with the Syncro!

Fantastic install. Looks like you have access to a fully equipped workshop. Filming and editing is excellent. Very enjoyable to watch.

Thank you very much Marc! The workshop is my safe haven at the end of our garden!
I just had a look at your channel, it looks very helpful for us dwindling T4 owners.
I'm replacing the inner cv boot at the moment, an absolute pain!

Hi there. Fantastic conversion! What do you do with the bikes, once you arrive somewhere?

Hi, thanks for the comment! For the bikes, I lean them against the front bumper and chain them to the towing eye.

Very very well thought out , & great workmanship, though for me it’s to much messing about, everything has to go in the right places ect ,much like my Vw caddy atm. I think by the time t
You set up it be time to go home . Not practical really , saying that it probably suits you, & genius ideas. 👏👏

Hi Neil, thanks for your comment!
I totally agree-navigating different setups in a small space can be tricky. We've had our T4 since 2002, and it's always served us well as both a family 5 seater and a trade van. Adding camping as a third use does come with compromises, but it meets our needs pretty well.
The more we use it as a camper, the better we understand what works and what doesn’t. For now, we’re enjoying it as is, but I do plan to make some improvements in the near future.

Thanks Alex! I had an outline before I started, then worked out all the details as I built it. Unfortunately, for the moment there are no detailed drawings.

Is it possible to get some detailed photos from you ? With some measurements for example 😁

    • @JimVentures101
      @JimVentures101  5 месяцев назад

Hi Alex, I assume you have a double cabin similar to mine. The most important measurement is the height of the wheel arch boxing (36 cm), as this determines the height of the storage bench (36 cm). The combined height of these gives you the final height of the bulkhead cupboard and the single beds (72 cm).
These measurements provide reasonable headroom while seated and sufficient space above the single beds while sleeping.
In transit, 72 cm is also a good height for securing the forks of bikes to the top of the cupboard.
I still use the van for work, so I kept the width between the wheel arch boxings at 121 cm, allowing me to load a euro pallet if needed.
There are no more pictures, but the video should be enough to get you started. If you decide to go ahead with the build, I would love to see the finished result!
      All the best!

Your roof bars going over your solar panels will reduce their output.

Hi, yes you’re right, though the extension cables are long, so the panel can be placed on the bonnet for instance.
