I've had a kyosho madbug for years now. It was my first new modern r/c since I was in elementary school. It is on the same platform but with longer arms for off-road. It handles like a dream and the factory tires and wheels are good. Unfortunately everything plastic broke. All the things your worried about. All four wheel shaft cups stripped out, front hub stripped, driveshaft twisted like a redvine, the plastic spur gear stripped, and after replacing all that, the esc let out the magic smoke. I still have it and it's fun to drive, but it just keeps breaking. On top of that the parts are so hard to find. I'm just glad I bought it almost brand new. 🤷🏽♂️
I have the Kyosho '69 Camaro Z/28. On asphalt, it only took about 4 lipo battery changes to wear down the tires almost completely. I went with the Protoform Vintage Racing tires on their Minilite style wheels, for much greater durability.
Hi Brett, I really like how the slo mo caught the suspension articulation, looks bad ass man, just like the whole car, sitting there looking all mean and nasty, lol 😂 I love the whole range of those rc classics, they are beautiful to look at, although a bit expensive for a shelf queen 👸.........maybe not lol 😆. Great video Brett, as usual. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
I can’t believe I almost missed this notification! I would have been RUINED! 😂😂. I’m thinking of getting the kyosho inferno demon. The electric one. Can you do a vid on that? Thanks! I
Too Cool set up and upgrade, I'm very impressed, maybe 🤔 to have more thundering sounds, to eliminate the spur gear noise, nice testing this product.(A+)😎☕👍🏗️💪
They're steering stops so when the steering extends fully to one side, that cup hits the top suspension arm preventing further motion. We believe this is an effort to prevent the front dogbones from popping out in certain situations. -Brett
Awesome car, after I watched this I had to get one! Also picked up the ESS-one from AMain and installed it only to find the engine sound is reversed from throttle! Forwards on throttle makes reverse sound on ESS. I’ve tried calibrating the ESS and verified several times it’s connected correctly. Was there any issues like this on your installation? If so how did you correct it? Thanks Brett!!
What a beautiful rc destroyed by body clips.. man whats wrong with companies putting so much work into a beautiful scale looks but they dont take a few extras to find a new way to mount the bodies to hide those body clips... Its a crying shame
They should make headphones speakers, instead of internal. I had a similar sound system on a Traxxas, it's very cool when the car is near, but you don't hear i anymore as soon as it really drives.
The plastic driveshaft seems like a questionable design decision. The sound system sounded great but at full throttle it was drowned-out? It's said to be rather loud so, did it cut-out or get drowned-out?
Yeah, the Mk2 vehicles are some of the best 1/10 on-road platforms available, plus there are a dozen muscle car and classic bodies to choose from. They're great for the price. -Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies I have some questions about X Maxx upgrades. Had the truck for three days now, no jumping or hard bashing yet. It is a different beast to drive. In the first ten minutes I noticed a tin sound and noticed a metal ring on the rear axle, guessing it's from a bearing. Before finishing the first full battery run, I had a broken a arm and the steering servo just spins. No steering. From what I've researched, this is not common apparantly. Are there upgrades I'm missing?
Ok,You just punched a 60 year old man right in the classic car part of my heart.
I gotta have the ElCamino. Thanks Brett.
I'm kinda thinking the same thing..... Ever since my 70' 454 got stolen ive had a soft spot for them.
Thats no 396 sound kit, thats for sure!
I just can't get over how handsome and well done these Kyosho bodies are. It was actually enough to get me back into RC after 20+ years.
Crooked SS badge has me triggered.
Yea Fr same

I know right... front AND back
Fix your crooked glasses.

A 4wd el Camino?.. take the drive shaft out and remove the front diff imo... Rwd seems more realistic
yea you'll just have to drive at 10 mph

I’m new to the channel and I love finding out about rc cars I’ve never even heard of because of you thank you for all you do

nice touch with the red calipers 💪
every dang 'Prius' should have a sound box :)
Nice work on the review! 👍🏼
Ok when I saw this thumbnail I totally though it was a regular car reviews vid lmao.
Nice love the wheels wish it was brushless rtr
I would like one just like that but in a brushless 5th scale with sound and lights included .
Oh wow that’s a kool RC , make me think about the old school “ California Sport”

Great model, now if Kyosho would offer it with a ‘72 Ranchero body I would have to have it.
Bad-ass! Very curious what's up with those big giant plastic cups on the steering knuckles where the link attaches

It would be cool if they put the Mad Van body on the Fazer mk2 chassis.

Because that's how they came and that's what people want to see. No movie magic to make things look better. What you see is what you get.

Would love to make this long chassis into a mt
Why not include the lights? But this looks great. And 25 mph isn't bad.
Does look good. The crooked SS on the grille and tailgate bug me but that's probably an easy fix ( I hope )
I wish I could drive my 1/16 scale e-revo this weekend but it’s really rainy where I live :(
Really like this one can’t go wrong with the price would be nice if they also made it nitro four wheel drive two speed transmission 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
The body would look cool on a crawler chassis
I feel like I would put the sound system In a infraction so I could hear the idle since the drive train s too loud

Quick question, i own a tamiya tt02R and i saw how you put the speaker on the battery. how would you change the battery out?
Heck ya I put a velenion 3s system it's awesome fast with upgraded drive shaft I haven't checked speed but it's fast as my senton blx

Never tried a kyosho before, what is the best and worst thing about them.

Nice!!
Is there a way to lift it and put bigger tires
whats with the cylindrical things on the steering links? limiters?
Yeah, we think they're steering stops to limit the extreme steering travel angles that allow the front dogbones to pop out in some situations.

Sounds like a Vtwin motorcycle engine?
