Here's another one if you handle firearms like he has in other movies you should be responsible and learn the rules of firearm safety instead of being lazy and reckless when using firearms. All he has to do when he was handed the gun was open the cylinder and remove the ammo to check if it's blanks or live. Takes no time at all but he isn't paid for those seconds of crucial safety checks so why would he. Guntubers that are so hated cause guns bad pass each one around so each individual person can check and guarantee it's clear. If he isn't going to bother and learn how to be safe with firearms he shouldn't be aloud to touch them. It's crazy law abiding firearm owners are told its too dangerous to have an AR or AK even though we are very thorough and careful because when we started shooting we realized we need to be as safe as possible and take no risks but a celebrity doesn't bother trying to learn what he needs to safely check his own props not trying to shift blame soley on the armorer. She should've have checked and honestly to the level of paranoia then when he was handed the firearm he should have checked the ammo. Actually, they're not supposed to point the gun directly at people when making a movie. This was a rule that was put into effect, after an accidental shooting like this happened, I think in the 30's or 40's on some movie that I don't remember the name of. They have a special technique where they hold the gun at an angle, pointing away from the person, but the camera somehow makes it look like it's pointing directly at the person. I remember this from a field trip I went on as a kid, many years ago to a film studio/museum in Texas. The person giving the tour explained all about this and showed us how they actually hold the gun and how it creates the optical illusion that it's pointing at the person, when it's really not. I don't remember the name of the studio, but it's the place where the Problem Child movies were shot, and where Glen Beck later bought it to use for his network. It was a really cool museum back in the early 90's.

      The two accidents are similar but there's a significant difference. It should also be noted that the gun that killed Brandon Lee was loaded with the proper ammunition both times it was fired.
      The first time, a projectile was dislodged from one of the blank rounds, getting stuck in the barrel. Two weeks later, the gun was used again and loaded with another set of blanks. The first shot had enough energy to push the blockage out of the barrel, killing Brandon.
      The difference here is that Halyna Hutchins was killed by a real live round that had no place being on a movie set to begin with.

    What I don't get is why he was pointing the gun directly at her. I thought there was supposed to be a law against that. When I was a kid in the early 90's I went on a girl scout field trip to the studios at Las Colinas in Irving TX. It was such a cool place. They filmed lots of different famous movies and TV shows there, like the movie Problem Child, for one. They had a museum that we toured and it was a lot of fun. At one point, the tour guide showed us prop guns and she explained that they have a special technique for shooting guns in movies, where they don't point the gun directly at the other person, and instead point it at a diagonal angle, slightly to the side of them, in a way where the camera creates an optical illusion that makes it look like it's pointed at them. She said that there's some kind of rule, or maybe an actual law, (I don't remember,) that was put into place about this, after a guy had been shot on a movie set, I think, in the 20's or 30's. But I can't find anything about that shooting, when I try to look it up, so I'm wondering if the law is actually what I thought it was, (that they have to point the gun away from the person,) or if the tour guide actually said that that shooting is what brought about the law that they have to have dedicated prop guns on set, instead of real ones. And I think they also said that no one is allowed to point any kind of gun at anyone on a set, even if it is a prop gun with blanks. I thought they had this whole issue of using guns in movies figured out decades ago. I always remembered that field trip from so many years ago because it was so much fun and I learned so much. Naturally, it was the first thing that jumped to mind when I found out about this movie set shooting.

    A weapon that can fire a live cartridge isn't a "prop" gun. It's a gun, just like the ones cops carry, capable of killing another human being, and the last person who could have saved her life failed to check the firearm before pointing it at her and deliberately pulled the trigger.

  • @stevegovea1

    There's probably directions from either actors lawyers or safety coordinators given to actors....
    For example, once an actor checks all ammo in a prop gun, they are held responsible for any accidentally lethal or non-lethal injury....
    On the other hand, if they don't check it, then all responsibility falls on the prop/safety coordinator.

  • @Cant_find_good_Handle
    @Cant_find_good_Handle 17 дней назад

    I think the issue is that he was one of the producers so that his culpability is broader than just being an actor. So in other words he was not just an actor, but he was also technically the armorer and first assistant directors boss. So the fact that they were using the guns to shoot live rounds on there off days would be an issue as well. If he was just an actor then it would be much easier to say he was innocent.

    My fire arms training, I was taught that you ALWAYs treat EVERY fire arm as loaded. I am no expert, but IMO, Mr. Baldwin, should have cleared the pistol’s action when he received the firearm immediately from the armorer, even though the armorer just cleared I. It’s just like a military drill: You do it the same exact way irregardless whether it is live or just practice! That way it becomes a habit! Once a (good) habit is established, gun safety is improved immensely!

    not too particular of him, but I don't think it's negligence, negligence would be like taking the gun beforehand before any of them saying anything to him assuming that it was fake/cold and used it as he pleased ... if he had done that then he should've practiced caution and checked but he didn't do that so I don't think it's negligence

    • @gardensofthegods
      @gardensofthegods 17 дней назад

      Not sure what you're saying here , but he never should have pointed the gun since they weren't filming and he was supposed to check it beforehand anyway -- which he did not do -- and HE KNEW THAT even if an armorer gives you a gun , the actor who has the gun in their hand in the end and is going to use it for a scene , must check it .
      Also , he did not do this and there was no reason for him to point his gun at that poor woman .
      It is a FACT that she had COMPLAINED to the authorities that the directors and producers were violating a number of safety rules .... Alec Baldwin was both a producer and a director for that film . 😮
      Also a number of people have written and said that there were a number of crew members who walked off the set earlier in the day of that poor woman's demise and that more we're going to walk off the next day because of violating safety rules and also trying to make them work longer hours than they were supposed to .
      I spent a lot of time researching all this at one point but that was a while back and I don't remember everything but once you really start researching everything you can understand that safety was not important and there just seemed to be a disregard for treating people properly
