Mr. Pip. It's a shame you only have 5k subs. But please keep plunder on, the quality of your content is absolutely top shelf. I am very picky and I hate just about everybody, but your stuff is proper good! And also, you write very good jokes. And also also, what model Ephiphone you got in the back there? Do you play in a band?
Thanks very much indeed, mate. Very kind words, and it's always appreciated! Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere - in so many senses. 🤣 It's a Riviera I got for my 16th birthday when I did play in a band. Had to be a Riviera because I was/am obsessed with The Strokes. Nowadays I play when I can but I think my neighbours probably appreciate the fact I've taken up speaking into a camera instead haha
@LumePip I like the Riviera, I had a mate who used to have one, and I loved the tone. I used to play a lot before, even auditioned for a couple of quite successful bands, but due to logistics (because all the good bands are on the other side of the country. And up here, everyone plays this weird, dull folk-pop with blokes singing about crying and feelings). I have an Epiphone Explorer now, which used to belong to another friend of mine. Originally, it was black, but me and him got together one weekend when we were 19 and got stupid drunk over a weekend and painted it white. We did almost a proper job (as I went to school for car painting), but the paint has now started to chip out a bit. If I ever buy another guitar, it will be a vintage Hagström hollow body. Even if it wouldn't fit very well with the music I could see myself playing if I were to get a band together again, which is a kinda lo-fi 70s inspired stoner/occult rock, something like Uncle Acid or Blood Ceremony. But I think it will be impossible to find blokes who can play fairly well and also like that kind of music.
Thanks for answering some of my questions. We often hear your 'assistant' but never see them. Is this because they have the perfect face for radio? More give-aways please. I'm too broke (& tight) to spend much money on watches
Thanks very much, mate! Can't go wrong with an Oris Aquis if you can find one for the right price. Ditto Longines - the Spirit is one I've had my eye on. That might be pushing the budget up a touch, though. An Aquis could be found for that price used. New, it's hard to go wrong with a Christopher Ward. 👌
Oh mate, I completely forgot to submit a question in time! Really love Oris and I'd answer the question whether an IWC is worth three Oris with "no" Finally, you do like the Rolex palm frond watch? I wonder what the designers of that dial have been smoking! 😂
Mayer is regarded so high in the watch community because he's an influencer whom already was famous to begin with. His collection is very impressive, and I like how he thinks about watches. But short of his love for Pateks and four digit reference number Daytonas, and the fact he's a real necromancer (he brought the Dead* back to life) I'm not too keen on him either. He can't write a good song if his life depended on it, his guitar skills, albeit very good and clean, quite technical and relatively good to articulate solos, he is simply just a straight vanilla, low-fat and sodium, Wholefood approved Hollywood drone. If you want somebody to look up to that is actually a legendary musician, car collectior, and also owns some of the rarest watches in the world, but also has an interesting and colorful past, just look to Mr. Slowhand himself. The only difference between Clapton and Mayer is that Clapton doesn't do much public media anymore, and therefore few peopleknow of him and what he has to say about his watches. For example, he never went as a guest on Top Gear, besides one small cameo where he just played some licks next to a Seat or something like that. Even though, I bet both my arms that they must have asked him at some point since he is such a petrol head, classic rock God, and one of the very few (if not the only one) who Ferrari has custom-built a completely unique car to. Ferrari EC1 I think its called. Also, Clapton doesn't give two fucks about plastic footwear, which means he's more cultured than Mayer. Also, Charlie Sheen had a very nice collection until he singlehandedly tried to rid America for blow. Fun fact (you might probably know this, but), his massive downward spiralling breakdown was actually set off because his piece unique Patek Philippe went missing and he accused his escort of stealing it or throwing it out the window or something. *Grateful Dead Edit: Oh, I didn't know it was you, Jason. Sorry, I didn't connect the name at first and thought you were just another bloke. I've seen some of your videos. Great content! Keep it up mate. 🤘
@@JasonTheWatchGuy yeah. Even for my "Patek", a Longines Master Collection Triple Calendar Moonphase with a black dial, worth about 1/100th of Sheen's watch I would still have a mental breakdown.
It's not that I don't like his music, I'm just indifferent! But I do cringe until my teeth are sore whenever they wheel him out and then start fawning over him as he tells them his favourite Patek reference numbers 😂
The 925 BlackBay is such a stunning watch and offers incredible value for money. Dont know if a stainless steel bracelet would match with it tho, id personally stick to MN and FKM straps
I know, that's a good point! It would maybe be the blue one now in my head, though... I can never decide! I've got a great WatchGecko Tropic strap that was amazing on my BB58, but I have a couple of Artem straps now that might be good with it too.
Mate love your work.
Im a little late to the party but whatever.

You me both, Mike! No problem at all - I'll answer more on the next one, too. Absolutely perfect face for the radio - exactly, mate 🤣
Loved this👍
Thanks for answering man! More giveaways would be great but get yourself and/or the channel out of debt first
Spanish? You’re Spanish is good enough to be a translator? Very impressive!
I'm sure there are a lot of Spanish speakers who would say it's nowhere near good enough, but it is something I did for a while, yeah! 😅
Love your show, appreciate the effort.
In your opinion, what is the best, used or new, piece around 1000$?

"I don't care for John Mayer" boom! Hodinkee fanboys malding so hard right now.
🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for selecting my question.
Feel the same way about the Tories myself, as you may have guessed. ✊
Always good to hear from someone else who hasn't gone mad on Normal Island, mate! Keep fighting the good fight

Haha, no worries, Alex! I'll answer that now... I REALLY like the Palm. But you're right - I should've filmed all the footage on 4/20!
Was expecting a bit longer and maybe more about submariner?
Ahahaha - I know, right? I went a bit light on that...
Does saying Rolex Submariner a lot help feed the algorithms?
Judging by the numbers on this video...no. 🤣
How dare you speak such sacrilege about John Meyer! On another note, the Tudor 925 is an absolute killer, definitely grail worthy

@raven_of_zoso455 Thank you pal! Also, on the Charlie Sheen topic, I'd also desend into madness if someone stole my Patek 😪

can I have your Epiphone? I'm guessing it's a Casino. please. come on now
Good guess, and it's very close... It's a Riviera! I can't part with it, but maybe if I reach MrBeast numbers, I'll do a giveaway of it 🤣
@@LumePip *unsubscribed* just kidding, you're pretty close to being the next Mr Beast so I'll hang in there
