    I waited just over 2 years for a white dial Komodo which arrived last November. Agree with all the points you made but whenever I have commented on reviews of this watch you always have people defending it, mostly because of the wait list. If you want a quick fix then fine but it's really no substitute for the genuine article.

    I had a Komodo when they first came out, it's a heavy and thick watch I wouldn't usually like at all, but I freaking loved it. It's the only watch I have owned I regret selling and I have been through more than I would like to admit. This is very tempting!

    Yeah the price difference is not that big. But the waiting time is the big obstacle for me. By the way, Helms are made in China too , afaik.

    A couple of years ago I managed to get the white dial Helm, and I sold it. During the the long wait I had sort of moved on. But I will say these Cadisens are much thinner than the real Helm Komodo.

    You've mentioned the 5x the price not being a massive difference, which is true. You've mentioned the waiting list, which is indeterminate. You skimmed over the 15.5mm thickness of the Helm, which is a lot. How top-heavy is the Helm, and would that bother me to wear it? In reviews of the Komodo, the drilled lug location was mentioned as being far too low, making the watch wear even worse (and look very wrong) if you choose to put it on a rubber strap. Given all these things, the benefit/hazard ratio here is very close and to me simply comes down to whether or not you want to spend a lot less for the Cadisen.

    I’m not going to get into the Homage discussion, but it is a hell of a watch for the money. Although I wouldn’t take a Cadisen in the water. I’m not sure I would say the word “water” around it… thanks for showing it to us.

    Helm Kommodo: we're talking about a chinese watch with the same movement and 316L steel material that probably costs 100$ in production...and has a 2 year waiting list + costs 250$ more...

    Been wearing it for several months.
    I can summarise my experience by saying;
    It's a great deal, but not a great watch. If you can pick one up on an Ali sale for $50-60 bucks, go for it, you won't be disappointed.
    But at the end of the day, it's just that, a $50-60 dollar watch.

    This watch has made me question the fact that I’m ok with homage watches. My first homage was of a Seiko, and I didn’t feel bad at all because Seiko didn’t make it anymore. My other homages take inspiration from watches that are crazy expensive, or just major manufacturers. So I’ve never had a problem with homages. Enter Cadisen delivering a Helm homage. I feel weird about it. Because it’s a microbrand maybe? Big company or small company shouldn’t have any bearing…………but it does, I guess.

    The question I have is who asked them to make this watch for $65. They cut so many corners and for no good reason. The price of the helm is irrelevant because it is a 3-4 year waiting list. So even it they charge $125 it would still be desirable over waiting 4 years. With the extra margin they could have given us a watch with a better bezel, better clasp, and screw links. There is this weird race to the bottom with Cadisen that drives them to make Hal-assed attempts at watches. SMH

      @@TropicThunder54 Yeah, right on. Counterfeit goods are bad but homages are fine. I always laugh when people say they don't like homages because most of products people buy are a homage. One company comes out with something and then a bunch of other companies do it. It's actually better for consumers because it helps keep prices down. Imagine if there was no generic medication. A lot of people would be worse off than they already are.
