Another awesome dial option. I'd imagine quite similar to the new black 38mm aqua terra. There's not been much mention of the blue enamel which was originally my first choice
I wanted the green solid (like in the video) but it's sold out. I can see that the green helix is still available. Do you recommend that I wait for the solid green to come back in stock or should I get the green helix?
@@davidconnelly I would say wait for the fume to be back in stock rather than getting a substitute. The helix dial is more understated and isn't as in your face unless under direct light which I quite like but certainly doesn't pop as much under light as the fume appears.
I've ordered one of these in Malachite Green.... I've had a PRX for a while and the Ascent looks a wayyy better watch. Strap fell to bits on PRX and the box/packaging is a joke for the price of the watch. Just stumbled across your channel. Nice to hear a familiar North East accent! That green fumé is lovely! I got the purple fumé and the black enamel myself. Got each of the two bracelets, and the black leather pack too. I’ll be honest, the leather straps are now living on other watches 😂 I am using the J style on the purple and the O style on the black enamel ❤
Got my purple helix on a o-style bracelet and it's been a really pleasant surprise; I put it on the shortest leather strap the first day and it's a beauty; wore it on the o-style bracelet the 2nd day and I"m not sure which look I prefer; At first I thought it looked better on the leather strap, but now that it's on the bracelet I'm doubting my earlier conclusion. on both I find myself looking down at the watch and admiring how the light interacts with the helix pattern multiple times a day.
I have the same green dial Ascent on jubilee, and it’s very well done! Hands and indices are the highlight of it. Vibe I get is an SNKL23 case, with aqua terra indices, and GS hands. $350 USD pre-order price and no duties to pay in the US, so it was a great deal
We did well to secure the green from what I'm hearing. Sold out! I get those Vibes. Certainly Aqua Terra in appearance. The case I feel is similar to Citizens NB1050 cases. Wraps around the wrist but not quite as curvy as a Sarb, more angular. I had no idea US buyers avoided duty. Very good deal!

Bought the blue enamel. Love it. J style and the brown strap pack. Using the leather nato on my Islander Bayport with the blue dial and it’s looking good!
I think you went for a really good combo. Blue enamel was my initial choice but thought looked a bit too vivid blue. Have you found it ideal in reality? I think the basic enamels could be the ones to stand test of time

Just got my Orange fume dial, on the O style bracelet, with an additional J style bracelet also😊, to get the dressier taste also. Absolutely loved the green fume, thinking of adding it too, sadly its out of stock
Mine arrived on Monday. It’s definitely worth the price. The quick adjustment clasp is a bit stubborn. Make sure you get rid of all the little pieces of plastic foil. They also lurk inside of the mechanism and block it. 🕐⚙️🍸
@@perfectwrist23 Yes, at least with my watch. I was wondering why the mechanism stuck and I had to use great force to move it. Later I saw the foils in the adjustment mechanism and removed it with a toothpick. Now the adjustment mechanism works smoothly.

I currently have 3 Seiko watches, I would like to get that down to 1 or 2. I think I got 3 of the best, I love them all, but the Sarb033 is the least unique of the 3 I have. It is very simple, classy, and timeless, but I think I would enjoy that “starry night” looking Erebus more. My other two are a Cocktail Time in Ice Blue (beautiful watch) and a customize 5KX with a custom bezel that makes it look VERY similar to a Rolex Yachtmaster. I’m just kind of bored with my Sarb033. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Mmm OK....I need to hugely consolidate also. I put my green Sumo on this week and wore it all week, re discovering why I appreciated it so much. I'd say the Sarb case does wear better than the Erebus, but the Erebus dials pop
I'd just bought a very similar Islander about a week before this was announced otherwise I'd have odrered one too. On the TV screen it looks just about perfect. Yours has the nicest dial of all those I've seen, beats all of the aqua terras hands down apart from the new black one without the ploughed field effect, the 9000 series doesn't match the coaxial movement of the Omega but at 5% of the cost it's specatacular value for money.
@@philspencelayh5464 oh but that Miyota 9 series comes very close in performance for a fraction of the cost. Remember service cost, that is where Swiss watches sting and regular servicing as well to keep them running properly. Miyota and Seiko mechanicals are a bit like Toyota cars, extremely reliable. We have had many 3135 Rolex movements in our workshop that have broken auto centres a common issue, broken mainsprings. This is something that does not really happen with the Japanese movements and they will run longer before requiring a service. Whilst I feel this watch is on the slightly high side it is still excellent all round. I do love Omega and Rolex though 😁
@@a0r0a7 interestingly my Explorer had to have a new mainspring, other than that the only watches that I've had that needed a service have been vintage ones I've bought as non runners but they were all over 50 years old and a clean and lube had them running astonishingly accurately.
I have the black helix. The problem is that the design makes the watch look much smaller than the specs indicate. It looks more like a 36mm. On my large wrist it just looks tiny. It’s not a watch for anyone with a large wrist unless you like small looking watches.

I like it, thought about it but then the cost after tax just turned me off. I went for the British Cestrian master series for a fraction of the price, beautiful watch and finish. The movement keeps stunning time, 2 sec per day. I also went for the Cestrian dive series, excellent and again 2 sec per day. Both Cestrian watches have great lume and anti reflective sapphire. Sorry Erebus.
I see you are a man of culture, ordering the green fume just like myself. I see some people that ordered the fancy dials, commenting on the watch being a bit to dressed up. And that was exactly why I did order the green fume, to fill a void in my collection and at the same time being able to function as a GADA. I ordered a dark green alligator strap yesterday, just to be prepared for all situations. I see many comparing the Ascent to Seiko dress watches, but I'm curious to see if Erebus will release a titanium version of the Ascent for Jody to replace his beloved The Citizen Chronomaster, that I believe was his main inspiration for the Ascent.
I think he drew inspiration from that Citizen, Grand Seiko, the Sarb and the Aqua Terra. Very good effort at a great price. Having worn mine a few days I do wonder if the Billy basic black dial would be even better and totally understated. However I think we made a good choice
No. If you like the white dial keep it. I think the Sarb has timeless qualities. The Erebus is fairly generic, admittedly very well done and a great all rounder, likely a better runner with that miyota inside, but the Sarb is no more and these Erebus are fresh, they will be around a long time, even as a solid used buy
I bought the black textured dial. Everything except the crystal is great. I am not sure if it a "cheap" piece of sapphire or lack of quality AR...but that is kind of disappointing. Accuracy also has not been great.
'The warranty filled in and dated'. Perhaps you might suggest to your boss Jody, that he gives such information on all his Ali Express specials. Fat chance of that.
Is it me, or do designers just use too much mirror polished finishes on their watches? Rarely do we see, satin and more subdued polish finishes , it prevents me from buying alot of watches

I've had mine on black leather. ...hadn't got round to the links yet....think the bracelet will win out tho
