I've only watched the first minute with the demo. My guess is that the entire tube is moved to the left and two other slots at top and bottom are revealed with short bits of tube, pulled in from the right. What gives it away is that for a brief moment the tube disappears. Assuming I'm correct, my suggestion to make this better would be to use non-patterned paper on the tube and to paste flat sections of the paper on the internal sliding parts so that the top and bottom tubing don't seem to disappear as the section is slid to the left or right. 🙂
That hologram sheet sticker brings the right amount of attention grab for this illusion's effect. Nice contrast with the gloss black panels.
