It is said that Pentatonix spent $400 to make the Daft Punk Medley video in one of their bedrooms. If you really want to hear Mitch go crazy please check out “Aha: Love from Singapore”. This was Mitch after jet lag and guzzling Red Bull. Always use headphones with Pentatonix. You will hear things you won’t hear without them
Yeap, need to see the green Room without mics or enhacements.. here the link: PTX Daft punk private mix green room: ruclips.net/video/tw4YCsHXKgI/видео.html
I love that you’re first reacting to the official videos and then the live ones. Super cool! They are very good live. Mitch is so consistent, it’s scary. When live, he often sounds like the studio version.
I prefer the original done when they were younger really shows how talented they were form the start. And the wondering when Mitch breaths is there as well.
You have to check out Pentatonix when they were on Sing-off on NBC. I would love to get your opinion from a musician's perspective. I loved seeing them develop a confident stage presence with every episode. Please check them out before the holiday season kicks off and you are inundated with Christmas song requests by us Pentaholics.
The concert I just went to at The Hollywood Bowl was great you can watch "Bohemian Rhapsody" on Miles Reuben chanel. Good quality. He has the whole concert on there. "My Heart with you", ""Shallow", "Daft Punk", "Hallelujah", Evaluation of Pentatonix, ""Sing, Sound of Silance and More
If you want great live quality, you need to listen to ANY of the posts from the recent concert at the Hollywood Bowl posted by Miles Reuben (wish you had done that live version of Bohemian Rhapsody). 90’s Dance Medley is AWESOME! Also please react to Popspring 2016- it’s long, but worth every second!!
It won't feel long. It's so good you'll be saddened that it was over so quickly. So, don't be deterred by it's 15 minutes length. That's like 2 minutes in "Pentatonix years". Grin.
As some others have mentioned, their Popspring 2016 concert was a very good recording and and features several of their original songs. It's worth checking out.
I can't wait for you to check out Daft Punk medley...official video and then live version. There is a video I remember seeing of them doing a private performance of it without even mics. I can give you the link to the live performance from this year's Hollywood Bowl : ruclips.net/video/a8PZ7_KMGM4/видео.html
I know people suggested the recent Hollywood Bowl live version on Miles Reuben's channel. In addition to much better sound and video, you can hear the difference between the original bass singer Avi and Matt, the bass who replaced him in 2017. And Mitch has gained in maturity and confidence over the years and I think sounds better than ever on his verses.
You should check out Kevin Olusola, the beat boxer looping a cover of Down by Marion Hill. It will break your brain.. The man is a musical unicorn (all of them are)! Kevin is a premed grad from Yale. He was on his way to med school when Scott, the tall blond baritone, asked him to join them in competing on the show, The Sing Off, and his life took a major detour. Scott found him in a viral you tube video of him playing his cello (which he has named Beyonce) while he beat boxes, a skill that has since been called cello boxing. He speaks multiple languages fluently, including Mandarin which he used working at the Chinese American Embassy as a young man. He plays multiple instruments. He is a master cello and saxophone player and has played both at Carnegie Hall as a teenager. He writes, arranges, produces and has a beautiful tenor voice. Each member of PTX has their own solo projects. Scott and Mitch have a You Tube channel called Superfruit that has divine content from hilarious vlogs and musical skits to medleys and 'evolution of series, to amazing collaborations with other musical artists and a full album called Future Friends which they wrote and produced. They produced really cool music videos for each song on this amazing album. Superfruit is a deep and wonderful rabbit hole. Some of my favorite Superfruit is Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 and 2, Anti Medley, Evolution of Lady Gaga, Empire Medley, GUY.EXE (from Future Friends album), a Katie Perry cover of Rise performed with three other music artists in response to the Pulse Night Club mass shooting and just so many more! The bass singer, Avi Kaplan, left amicably in 2017 and his solo career is taking off. He has a recently released album called Floation On A Dream which is a masterpiece of original music. He has a recent set of songs from that album that he performs live at Sunset Studio that I am currently obsessed with. Scott just release his first solo song (with more songs coming) and a music video called Mars it is so good! Mitch has a solo project called Messer which is very EDM and very good. Kirstin has solo music and hads starred in a Broadway musical, Kinky Boots. PTX is the gateway into some really amazing music from each member. I hope you branch out to check some of it out. You will get hooked and it really helps explain how Pentatonix is so darn good with all of their amazing talents converging into PTX. I am a new sub. I appreciate your music knowledge and look forward to many more of your reactions. Thank you!
My last concert with my mom was PTX end of Nov 2022, she unexpectedly passed a month later at just 64, PTX music has been on repeat in my car, my phone, my computer especially Mary Did You Know because that was her favorite song ever, a friend sings it in church all the time and PTX was the first version she'd heard of anyone else she liked. The reaction videos are great on bad days. I love how much you appreciate them all as artists.
I highly recommend listening to their mash-up of New Rules X Are You That Somebody. It really shows of the "rhythm & bass section". And Mitch and Kirstey does some next level harmonising!
I'd actually never heard a live version while Avi was still with the band. Thank you for this reaction! I so wish there were more high quality live performances available from them.
There's a Sound of Silence official video and then a live version (has a drum corps that comes in at the end!)! In that one, Mitch does actually flub a note, and it humanizes him I feel like, cause they're so professional, but that by necessity happens sometimes. As for your reaction, isn't that CRAZY with the lack of megaphone?? Was so excited to see you see that, haha. I will say, I think Kirsty is off key just slightly in here, so you can see that it does happen sometimes, and the fact that they have to get their key from each other can affect things. AND YET it still sounds pretty great. ANOTHER one to check out is them doing Kiiara's Gold, which while it is a video, you can see them with their mics sitting together CRUSHING their unique version of the song (listen to Kiiara's first. She uses effects they don't).
The good news is even at the Christmas show, they usually do Bohemian rhapsody. So you will more than likely see it live. I can't wait to hear what you think.
Love your reactions. Popspring Performance 2016 is also a good live Concert to react to. You get 3 original songs and The Evolution of Michael Jackson.
Thanks for another great reaction! I agree that their Daft Punk medley is a solid next choice, they even have an awesome off-mic recording of them performing it live as well! If you wanted to check out one of their original songs, Love Again is so freaking amazing.
Please watch the studio version of Daft Punk first and then the live performance from the Hollywood Bowl (Miles Reuben channel has the best quality, as it was professionally filmed by the PTX crew). It's easier to see what's going on in the video so you know what to expect from the live version. Maybe you could do a two in one reaction? That would be fun :)
Oh my gosh! This is so awesome you are reacting to live videos. Daft Punk is on fire! Many reactors think they use auto tune and edit the 'pauses' for the skip in the song, but they do it themselves which is phenomenal, bc the timing in voice is so clean and precise. And they recorded Daft Punk in Avi's apartment closet. Some good live videos to watch are, PopSpring (recorded via fan but good quality per say) a vid early in their career. Aha- Singapore @ the Star Vista, again recorded via fan, but a good vid, Avi blew the speaker with his lows. And PTX's, Gold: Kiiara cover. Hers were enhanced by auto tune and special effects, PTX did it by voice only. Might watch Kiiara's recording first then react to PTX's version. So happy I found your channel! Enjoying every second! Thanks! God Bless!
You should watch the Popspring 2016 concert, an excellent concert recording made in Japan. It has three originals and their The Evolution of Michael Jackson, which I think is even better here than in their much appreciated official video. But Daft Punk is a great third song to check out.
Oh i love this reaction! I adore watching just their reguöar live shows even when the sound is what it is. It's just so impressive so Im very glad you're watching this!
I absolutely love watching your Pentatonix reactions! You remind me of myself when I first discovered Ptx and it’s really fun to see your journey. I had the privilege of seeing them live multiple times and each time I was shocked over just how good they are. If you’re looking for more of their songs to compare live vs studio version I highly recommend Aha and the live version Aha! Singapore, The Star Vista. It’s like a PTX fan rite to watch this performance. It’s definitely an experience. The quality isn’t the best since it’s a fan recording but it’s definitely worth it!
ALSO good thing to remember for the Aha at the Star Vista, they start out doing some choral stuff to give KO a chance to put away his cello, and the person who's videoing it doesn't ever show Kevin come back, but he's there, you can hear him!
If you decide to do Aha! Singapore, you need to watch their official video first - because you miss a lot of what's going on after Avi blows the speakers at the show.
Please check out the beat boxer's solo channel. Kevin Olusola is his name. Start with "down" originally by Marion Hill. Kevin covers it and OMG you will not be disappointed!
Avi does the bass here and while he was with Pentatonix (from the beginning he had a fan club because he just stood out with his buetiful baritone. He now does singing on his own. It is beutiful. You should give him a listen Avi Kaplan, if you like just a bariton and a guitar.
What’s is great is watching your eyes and brow area... it reveals so much about your passion for music as your face dances to the music naturally and in harmony with the visuals you are watching. ❤
They are so good! They can do live what they do in studio. It’s hard on phone recordings to pick up the massive bass that Avi is doing! Also a lot of what Kevin is doing gets missed in phone recordings. Thanks for doing this!! PTX is unbelievable! PRUE RAW TALENT!
Their recent Hollywood Bowl performance has a better live version of this. But it’s so new it probably doesn’t have enough hits to come up first in searches. I really like your method here, the video then a live version. It’s unique. You could do it as a double feature long video.
Yay! I would have suggested the Hollywood Bowl version from a few weeks ago, but I guess it wouldn't be as apples to apples. It's higher quality, but not the same personnel (Matt instead of Avi) and they brought in a choir to enhance the opera, but tbh, it didn't change much. They were still on mics while the choir wasn't. This was probably a better direct comparison, though. So glad you you did it! I'm really looking forward to what you see next from PTX!
Ok, I take it back. I just saw another reactor doing the Hollywood Bowl version and it was EPIC. You should really see it even if you don't react. They were really tight while also being loose if that makes sense.
I am enjoying your reaction formats of PTX official videos to their live versions. May I recommend Pentatonix Aha! official video to their Aha! - Singapore live (even though it is shot with a cell phone). You'll get the highs and lows with Mitch and Avi!
When Pentatonix made their official video of "Bohemian Rhapsody," their bass was still Avi Kaplan. But then Avi had to leave due to illness in his family, and it took them a while to find a new bass. Eventually they found Matt Sallee (pronounced Sun-lee', emphasis on the second syllable). Unlike Avi, Matt is not a basso profundo, which means that he never blows out speakers with his low notes in live performances. However, Matt *_is_* a lyric bass, like Avi, which means that his range extends well into the baritone range. Because of the change of bass, I wasn't sure whether Pentatonix was still able to perform "Bohemian Rhapsody" - there was a chance that it relied on Avi's lowest notes - but it appears that my concern was in vain, because they *are* still performing it live. Better yet, you can catch it on their live stream from the Hollywood Bowl earlier this year, the performance that kicked off this year's Christmas tour. The advantage of a live stream is that it taps directly into the audio system at the venue, so you don't have to rely on someone's cell phone to capture all the nuance. Also, the camera basically has the best seat in the house so you get all the visuals as they should be seen. You can see their 2022 live stream of "Bohemian Rhapsody" here: ruclips.net/video/nMFPsouaum0/видео.html
Mad World (hauntingly beautiful), Amazing Grace (be prepared to cry lol), Imagine and Sound of Silence (love Matt in this one) are all musts! Who am I kidding, every song of theirs is a must, but those are just a few of my favorites!
While this is a good version of their live performance of Bohemian Rhapsody, please take a moment and review this one as well.......I have been following them for quite some time now, and this version was a hard search, but I found, IMO, is the best live performance of this song, much clearer vocals & percussion, & a closer look at who is doing what during the song 😊 live at the Hollywood Bowl 2022 live stream: ruclips.net/video/nMFPsouaum0/видео.html
#4 and you already got Mitch slapped. LOL. I knew you would love them live also. Wish I was younger so I to, could see them live. Thanks for another amazing take and on to #5.
If you have already covered their Daft Punk, or will be soon, here is the link to their live version of the song which is absolutely ridiculous, and you will see why, when you watch both!!! Live version: ruclips.net/video/a8PZ7_KMGM4/видео.html
I recommend for you to check out Forestella from Korea for this cover song, you will be blown away! Also check out Sohyung from Korea also to really appreciate the true artists. 😊
When watching live performances, I try to imagine those behind the scenes people who have no idea who PTX is. They've seen a thousand concerts at the fairgrounds. Hate unloading all that heavy equipment and here somebody says "oh! No help needed. PTX will handle it." Or the 89 year old secretary in Germany who had to stay late so these guys could sing "Silent Night."
Love watching your enthusiasm! With Christmas coming up there are a few for you Silent Night is a one off the original video is a "live " one take like their Evolution videos. Also God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen has several live versions to compare to the video. I much prefer comparing the videos to live versions done in the same time frame comparing older songs to current lives is kinda like comparing apples and oranges, voices mature confidence is gained etc. etc.
One thing to be aware of is that they do staggered breathing, which creates a continuous sound. As you know most chorus vocals take a breath at the same time, creating a break in sound. Pentatonix does not do this much unless they want a sound break. It's really subtle and amazing to watch them do this as well as everything else.
You might want to check out their live recording of Daft Punk version live. It’s a private session for make a wish foundation. It’s in a small room and a pretty good recording. They also did a live version at the 2022 Hollywood Bowl. That one is live too
Thank you for this reaction - I hadn't seen this version before! I couldn't really tell from the video but Avi also beatboxes, so awesome as Kevin definitely is, it might not all be him
Too many PTX videos for you to check out, but don't forget about their non-PTX work. Scott and Mitch had a channel SuperFruit which has some great comedic pieces and some wonderful music (often with friends). Check out Rise (Katy Perry cover) by SuperFruit. From PTX, check out some of their newer videos like 90s Dance Medley, Amazing Grace, The Prayer, Shallow. In Shallow Kevin does his signature cello-boxing (playing the cello and beatboxing at the same time). And, when you are ready for it, Aha! Live from the Star Vista in Singapore. Another fan video, but Avi and Mitch will blow you mind all over again.
The audience always sings along, just a warning about live performances. Thank you so much for reacting to PTX. They are so awesome! And you only have 200+ more videos of theirs to react to! ooo...Daft Punk is next! Enjoy! I look forward to this, their first Grammy performance.
Please do daft punk video and then their private performance with no mics at all. They are amazing. Obviously their videos are professionally mixed but their voices are incredible. Daft punk earned them their first grammy for arrangement.
At that place where you commented on Kevin doing the drums - he is actually alternating between drums and singing. I don't know how he does that and doesn't run out of breath.
Here's Bohemian Rhapsody from their Hollywood Bowl show in September that is much better sound quality. It does have Matt at bass though, rather than Avi. ruclips.net/video/nMFPsouaum0/видео.html
They have a video showing their recording process of one of their Christmas albums called "The recording of Evergreen". I think it would be super interesting for you to react, but it is heavy with spoilers for a few songs (like the Prayer and other ones that have an official video on their channel). Thank you for continuing your reactions to PTX :)
I can’t wait for you to do more PTX reactions! There are so many to choose from, so it will keep you busy for a while, and if you’re anything like the rest of us Pentaholics, you’ll never get tired of doing them lol Some suggestions that I know people probably already commented on are: Ah ha! Live from the Star Vista (it’s a Mitch slap!), My Favorite Things, Love me when I don’t (a PTX original), Amazing Grace (ridiculously amazing), The Prayer, Over the River, Come Along (super fun and it’s a catchy as hell), Carol of the Bells (there is a live version from their show Christmas Under the Stars). Good Lord, I could go on and on. If you want to check out their recording process, I suggest the recording of Evergreen. It’s their Christmas album from last year. Shows how great they work together. Phew. Sorry for the long comment 😂
They all sind great. Mitch did amazing but I'm most impressed with the bass and percussion. It sounds just like real drums. I've never heard such clean beat boxing that aounded more like drums than actual drums
You wanna get in the Christmas spirit with a Mitch slap, some great beat boxing and awesome visuals? Try the official video for God rest ye merry gentlemen! It’s an incredible arrangement! Also live it’s great too!
"reverb" is never used by PTX. (The only time they ever used anything like that was in the Studio version of "90s Dance Medley," on the Cher song - and when interviewed about it, they mentioned they only did that in an attempt to 'pay homage' to Cher on the song) - they can produce all these special effects with their VOICES only. . . . something about how they use their mouth shapes, and everything - )
Complete tangent: I somehow just realized that you've got some Final Fantasy music going on in the background. And now I see some games in the corner. Nice!
You should also check out their video for "Radioactive". It's one of the few performances they do that does have some instrumental as well, but still amazing vocal effects as well.
Great reaction. I love that you can notice some of their individual parts. They did a mash up of BTS songs, Butter and Dynamite, I see you're a fan of BTS
Someone has already linked this but I wanted to second it. Please watch the music video prior to watching the live performance. You really should watch their live informal performance for a handful of people in a green room without Mics. You will be amazed.
I used to come watch these for Avi, but I'm not dropping the Avi vs Matt stuff anymore. I read somewhere that men's voices reach their lowest tones at the age 30, so I was interested to see if Mitch can maintain his high vocals, let's see. Nailed the high note!! I bet Scott is happy, he once said he wished his voice was lower. He'll be a solid bass. No worries, Matt, Home Free has 2 basses.
I think you should check out Popspring Live 2016. It’s a live performance of 3 originals & a cover. WORTH IT! It’s a great example of what a regular concert is like.
The next song which will blow your mind is their Grammy winning song Daft Punk Medley.
Absolutely 💯
@JohnReavesLive The one you really need to see for Daft Punk is the "Private Performance" ruclips.net/video/tw4YCsHXKgI/видео.html

Another live performance where Mitch absolutely slays is Aha! Singapore. It is a "Must See" performance!
Yes, but he needs to see and hear the official video first to really appreciate what happened at the Star Vista lol
@@toni-annmyers3604 That's true. Lol
I just recommended the same thing!
@@johnhelwig8745 lol Because it's ahh-mazing!
Definitely react to their video cover of AHA by Imogen Heap and then their live performance in Singapore at Star Vista.
They have an original love again that Avi and Kevin wrote, it will blow your mind
Yeap, need to see the green Room without mics or enhacements.. here the link:

I love that you’re first reacting to the official videos and then the live ones. Super cool! They are very good live. Mitch is so consistent, it’s scary. When live, he often sounds like the studio version.
Watch them do Carol Of The Bells live from last years Christmas Under The Stars Xmas special, absolutely amazing!
Or their version of "Favorite Things" :)
I prefer the original done when they were younger really shows how talented they were form the start. And the wondering when Mitch breaths is there as well.
isnt the special not avilable anymore? i tried. looking for it but couldnt find it
@@brunettealesoda I think you're right, I could only find it from others reacting to it.
The song where Mitch doesn't breathe

It’s like a PTX fan rite to watch this performance. It’s definitely an experience. The quality isn’t the best since it’s a fan recording but it’s definitely worth it!
ALSO good thing to remember for the Aha at the Star Vista, they start out doing some choral stuff to give KO a chance to put away his cello, and the person who's videoing it doesn't ever show Kevin come back, but he's there, you can hear him!
Same
If you decide to do Aha! Singapore, you need to watch their official video first - because you miss a lot of what's going on after Avi blows the speakers at the show.
I hope you keep checking out the lives of each song you react to! They are insane live it often sounds identical or even better live
'펜타토닉스의 보헤미안 랩소디'리액션 잘보았습니다.
'포레스텔라의 보헤미안 랩소디'리액션도 부탁드려요!
Please check out the beat boxer's solo channel. Kevin Olusola is his name. Start with "down" originally by Marion Hill. Kevin covers it and OMG you will not be disappointed!
You should see them do Aha! live in Singapore (also not one with great quality). Thanks for another PTX reaction
I second that 👍
Avi does the bass here and while he was with Pentatonix (from the beginning he had a fan club because he just stood out with his buetiful baritone.
❤
This has me so hyped! Can't wait to see them in a couple of weeks!!
i was at this show actually!! ive gotten the privilege of seeing them live 4 times and they were incredible every time
They are so good! They can do live what they do in studio. It’s hard on phone recordings to pick up the massive bass that Avi is doing! Also a lot of what Kevin is doing gets missed in phone recordings. Thanks for doing this!! PTX is unbelievable! PRUE RAW TALENT!
If you want, your mind blown check out their live performance just recently at the Hollywood bowl the live stream
Even more excited to see them live in London next year 🤩
These talented musicians are out of this world. Daft punk. Your in for a ride bro. Looking forward to the reaction👍
Love that you are doing the official video, then live. Such a great way to take PTX in…Hope u keep it up. Subscribing
Mad World (hauntingly beautiful), Amazing Grace (be prepared to cry lol), Imagine and Sound of Silence (love Matt in this one) are all musts! Who am I kidding, every song of theirs is a must, but those are just a few of my favorites!
Please continue down the PTX rabbit hole! I will watch EVERY ONE. 😊
I just love your reactions to Pentatonix! Keep them coming, please.
Yes! That is a great performance!
Love your reactions. I agree with Daft Punk followed by recorded and live versions of Sound of Silence! So good. 💞
Amazing reaction!
Thank you for sharing your time with us. ☮️
#4 and you already got Mitch slapped. LOL. I knew you would love them live also. Wish I was younger so I to, could see them live. Thanks for another amazing take and on to #5.
I was at the front of the stage for this show! It was amazing!
They recently performed at the hollywood bowl and you can see some great live performances that way. Including an excellent live version of daft punk
Love watching your enthusiasm! With Christmas coming up there are a few for you Silent Night is a one off the original video is a "live " one take like their Evolution videos. Also God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen has several live versions to compare to the video. I much prefer comparing the videos to live versions done in the same time frame comparing older songs to current lives is kinda like comparing apples and oranges, voices mature confidence is gained etc. etc.
More pentatonix please. Thanks.
One thing to be aware of is that they do staggered breathing, which creates a continuous sound. As you know most chorus vocals take a breath at the same time, creating a break in sound. Pentatonix does not do this much unless they want a sound break. It's really subtle and amazing to watch them do this as well as everything else.
Another great reaction and I too love the comparisons between official videos and live versions you are providing!
Sound of Silence ❤
AHA live in Singapore..Best live ever!!!
You might want to check out their live recording of Daft Punk version live. It’s a private session for make a wish foundation. It’s in a small room and a pretty good recording. They also did a live version at the 2022 Hollywood Bowl. That one is live too
Let me join the "Aha Singapore" chorus.
There's also a live version of "Daft Punk" @ their September 2022 performance at the Hollywood Bowl.
I hope you see them in Nashville! I have tickets to see them Nov 23rd here in Tulsa, OK. Can’t wait.
Forgot to say, you also need to watch the official Daft Punk mv for the visuals. Love Again (original and official mv) is 🤯 as well.
Thank you for this reaction - I hadn't seen this version before! I couldn't really tell from the video but Avi also beatboxes, so awesome as Kevin definitely is, it might not all be him
I love live recordings where the person recording is singing along right next to the mic 🎤... Usually a half step flat from PTX. 🤣
I think you would really enjoy some of their Evolution of... videos. They are done live and in one take
Too many PTX videos for you to check out, but don't forget about their non-PTX work.
Enjoy! I look forward to this, their first Grammy performance.
the Grammy is for the arrangement, the GENIUS arrangement, but yeah, it will blow his mind
Pentatonix gives workshops. You and your band may want to participate in one. The workshops may be virtual now. Check their website.
Watch Kevin Olusola's cover of Marian Hill - Down.
A real good quality of this is their Hollywood bowl concert 2022.
To this day when they bring out a new song I have to remind myself it’s just vocals ❤
Complete tangent: I somehow just realized that you've got some Final Fantasy music going on in the background. And now I see some games in the corner. Nice!
Check out the video they did with Lindsey Sterling doing "Radioactive"
You should also check out their video for "Radioactive". It's one of the few performances they do that does have some instrumental as well, but still amazing vocal effects as well.
I swear Kevin the beat boxer has a whole orchestra in his mouth.
Daft punk is great to react to, but my favorite by far is gold (Kiara cover), especially if you love Mitch's voice lol
You should check out their POPSPRING 2016 live concert, it has 3 original songs and their Evolution of Michael Jackson
They have a live version of this recently from the Hollywood Bowl. I think it was October 2022. It's way better. If you want to check that one out!
