@@susanleatherbarrow2495 Ahhh Susan, now your talking.A lot of people have said The Beatles put Liverpool on the map, not strictly true, it was Billy Fury..One of the pioneers, along with Cliff and Marty Wyld..What a performer he was..I met Billy in Seaton, Devon in 1982 in a cafe with his manager. He was on his way to Axminster looking at vintage cars..What a lovely humble guy he was, I had a good half hour with him talking about the early days.Sadly in 83 he died, so young 42..He was buried at Mill Hill in London, but I believe there is a statue of him in Liverpool, Rightly so. The word Legend is used to easy today, but Billy was a Legend. His music still sounds good today.

We don't realise how good these boys were such a shame they didn't make it cause they were over booked everywhere and didn't get a chance to go on a lot f TV shows I'm sure they would have a a good career if managed the right way love this it reminds of a time when things were less complicated xx
Anyone can have a shot more than ever these days. Unfortunately, including the least talented and it's usually they who are the most successful these days.

I love the way they are dressed in their smart clothes..and a blummin good tune..im 55 and still listen to these guys..i remember watching them on top of the pops and i use to cry tears of love..proper tunes😊

Oi! Show some respect , Geraldine !! That singer suffered for his art! They couldn't lower the microphone stand any further so they cut his legs off. A couple of unemployed chimney sweep kids had to hold-on to his stumps just to keep him from toppling over!
Great memories of our teen days ! You & the 4 cutie boys, including me, are all of the same age ! I have never known of boy bands in my country ( Malta ), back in the 70's, despite a big follower of the British top 20 charts in those days, to which I never missed one. I have discovered the Kids just 3yrs ago, as I was scrolling on my comp. to listen my 70's best. Sadly, & by chance , I heard from one of the boys, recently, that Terry Baccino passed away ! He left us too soon ! God grant him eternal peace.
Folk watch this and cringe,or laugh, but this is how it was in 76 the music, fashions the lot, I was married in Oct that year I was dressed exactly like these lads on my our wedding day ,the flares, shirt collars, ties, and also the hair styles. This video, brilliant song along with great hand and arm movements, performed perfectly by these lads produces a wonderful nostalgic record and memories of that carefree long hot summer. The UK heatwave was just kicking in when this was in the charts, a Great British Group as well.
Tbh, this wasn’t such a bad tune. Good orchestra arrangements and these young lads were brilliant. It’s not until that we reach a certain age that we realise that any music from any era can provoke precious memories..
Oh my goodness! I remember singing this and the b side as if my little heart was breaking. "Baby, come back home and let me live again" I would plead along with my mom's record player. I was 3 ❤🤣
This reached No2 on the UK Singles chart back in 1976. The boys manager destroyed their career by working them to the maximum hours allowed under child labour laws, booking them into venues across the UK leaving no time available for important TV spots to promote their records. This was their one and only hit. Nothing else came close to charting.
The entertainment industry is utterly heartless. Get as much money as possible, if the artists burn out - bin them and move onto the next bunch of hopefuls.
I saw them on one of those Whatever Happened To....etc., shows which I think was hosted by Matthew Kelly. The lads (now men!) talked about their short lived career. I think the Scottish lad - Neil Reid? - was on it too. Fascinating and worth checking out.
That’s shocking! These managers, I think especially then, they were unscrupulous & only cared about money. The same happened to David Cassidy who was burned out with gigging. The Bay City Rollers too & they were cheated out of millions.
Not completely correct, infact the education authorities refused them permission to take part in performances, they were scheduled to be on blue Peter, but was cancelled last minute, because Liverpool Council refused to five a licience for them to take part.. they pretty much went their own ways, forming different bands.
Our Kev, sound lad, salt of the earth, he lived down south, with us, his bro had local pubs, had some brill stories and times at the races, as Texan Ted from Alabama, not a bad footy player to. Great tune la.
I think it's so sad that that this happened to them they had cracking voices and I think if they would have a better manager they would have made it big thanks for this sing we always sung when I was growing up
