This video actually saved me. I started getting the squeal i was looking for after a few minutes. I definitely need more practice but this video was a life saver. Thank you 🙏
I don’t know how long I’ve been trying to do these and how many people I’ve listened to say you just have to follow through the string, but for some reason, it just managed to resonate with you and I finally managed to do it thank you
Hey Ryan, I started playing day now ying guitar at 4 years old i'm 67 now. but noticed that i was getting pinch harmonics totally by accident way before i knew what it was. or even heard of a pinch harmonic. and could never get it again then i saw you teaching it. i now know exactly how to do it but the nerves in my hands won't allow me to do it because i have irepairable nueropothy in my hands, total nerve damage. dropping my pick most of the time it really sucks! I love the sound of pinch harmonics. So i keep practicing every single day my thumb meat just won't let me hit the strings Maybe God one day will heal me and can master it some day and be as good as you, Zack Wild, dime bag and everybody else! pray for me. thanks. Rock On you thousands of guitarist.
Thank you but do you know how to do pinch harmonics on 8 string? I can't normally pinch E an octave lower on third fret, but somehow it works in onther's covers and studio recordings. But how? On 7 string my harmonics sounds pretty nice as I think
+sub! 👽 Got a question for you sir: You're attempting pinch harmonic on the low E string 3rd fret for instance, you hit the string with the right hand the way you just explained, well how bout PHs on the for example 5th fret of the same string? You're gonna hit the same exact part of the string?
Technically, there is going to be a SLIGHT move, but you probably won't even notice it to be honest. Think of it this way... as the frets become smaller on the neck, that spacing of notes continues to shrink as we go along. So, movement is shortened quite a bit. Even with that, you can get different pitches of harmonics to ring out in different areas with PHs just like you hit harmonics in multiple areas on the fretboard itself!

Dude your channel is criminally underrated!

1:16 truer words have never been spoken. Sometimes through my selective licking I fight the urge to hit all ph in between chugs
The first song I used these in (when I was like 16) had a main riff with 16th notes. I think 10% of them were non-ph notes. I haven't changed much...
I can’t seem to figure out the low e string. I can pinch harmonic any other string but the low e is impossible
Thanks for the info. Do some guitar types (scale length, pick ups, etc) and or string gauges make it easier or harder?

Nice video.
Im being able to get the harmonic, but still sucking to mute the other next higher strings.
Any tips for this?
yes try muting the other strings with your ring and
pinky fingers if possible.

@@ryan-dxp most accurate information thus far! You're the man ✌️🤘🥂
i have the pinch harmonic way but it keeps dying out idk why
Why my E and A strings dont squeal? Is that in amp?
Why do none of my strings do it 😂
So a PH only works when i fret the same location as an open string harmonic?
Like i cant play a PH on the 10th fret?
You can, it’ll just be more difficult to get the good squeal
You must have a magic trick to play those squeal sounding AH !---I give up !
Pantera time (I can’t play it even with know how to do pinch harmonics)
