I couldn’t agree more with your statement about it being rated “E”. One of my biggest fears of ATLA seeing a resurgence is they are going to continue to treat the franchise as a kids show. Many people like myself who have watched this show are in our late 20s and early 30’s. The reason I enjoyed F.C Yee’s novels so much is because it was a good step in the direction of realistic story telling. People died, bending isn’t always pretty, and we need a game that will tackle these issues for more substance. I don’t want a videogame of just bending elements for a puzzle, it’d feel like a huge waste of potential.
yeah exactly. The avatar franchise is one of the best examples of "growing up with its viewers" in the sense that Aang started as a naive child with childlike adventures but mature themes, and eventually just became a more mature person and the show took on a more mature tone as it went on. Korra started out where aang left off and became even more mature with the themes of imperialism and anarchy, and her first major antagonist literally accepted suicide alongside his brother to escape a cycle of abuse. The show being adapted into solely happy-go-lucky puzzle solving like its fucking pajama sam is a disservice to the property and everyone who enjoys it. But its something nick games has always done and is clearly continuing to do.
The problem with creatively in video games is that its very expensive and risky. Madden and call of duty have made billions of dollars by making people content with never innovating gameplay.
yeah I get why its done, I just think its a bad look. Avatar is such a huge IP you would think at some point they would put money into trying something new instead of this. Not exactly a bold prediction but I am going to go out on a limb and say that quest for balance is going to suck.
The problem with an Avatar game is that bending in general is very free form and situational, implementing an open world game is gonna be a lot of work, much more depicting it in a good way to translate into a game. One of the few ways I can see bending being depicted in a good way is in a fighting game. Each unique fighter flexing their mastery over their style of bending. Like Zuko having a more balanced moveset compared to Azula's aggressive attacks, etc. Though I think it is just biased from me who likes Fighting Games a bit too much.
i think it would only work for fire, air and specialized benders, but you would struggle to communicate people like king bumi and katara properly.( water and earth benders). unless the games works like the korra game but in 2d.
@danielfame2940 i mean, if you use katara then she can bend water from thin air. Also if you played the original 3 avatar games for ps2 and wii, then you'd know it wouldn't be a problem for earth or waterbenders

Just so you could be the 'avatar' yourself and rediscover lots of places from the series and wander around everything yourself. Then maybe if that sells well, they could come up with an entirely new storyline and avatar. But seeing this trailer I am like what? I remain doomer
The avatar games i like the most believe it or not is the handheld games. The art atyle and fun puzzle/2D action gameplay of the GBA games was quite fun.
I think a different art style would help a lot
The whole issue with making AAA avatar games is they've never gotten the payout to make one.
I can agree to some degree but nickelodeon has the money to make a decent game, they just know that they will get money for no effort if they make a shitty one
It looks horrible, but I’m definitely going to play the hell out of it. I just wish we could get an actually GOOD game. This should’ve come out in 2015 or prior.
I eagerly await the PS3 era Korra game in 2028
Tell me how the Elca Gaming Four Seasons fan game looks better than an offical line game like this. Back in the Game Cude era i guess.
it actually does lmao
Imagine Insomniac made an avatar game.
Pls god
Look hear me out, if the just make a open world, like Assassins creed odyssey, and that you can just make your own avatar, can decide if you want to be a air, earth, fire, water bender, and just like Assassins creed odyssey, quest to do like helping villagers, and main quests like talking with Avatar Rooku and shit, if they do that it would be a very good game, and otherwise let a fan build it, he would make time for it
Better than this garbage
Does anyone know if the co op can be played with a single game cartridge or do you need two?
definitely requires a link cable
Only a liberal would 'Pull a scene from the show- that is not in the game- and say the game should be rated on what is in the show" ONLY A SOCIALIST would think of having a FRANCHISE have a SOCIAL SCORE>
Underrated comment
replaying the same story as in the show seems to be pretty boring to me
they should come up with original stuff inside the universe
Or at least present it in a new way
If you actually appreciate the story, I feel that it should be fine.
Cyberconnect2 could make a very good Avatar The Last Airbender action RPG game!
would be nice to see
Would probably be the best game of the year 😂
Keep in mind that this game is being made by a small company so just be appreciative that we at least getting a avatar the last airbender game , I get that the animation for the bending is not up to par but that can changed when we see some gameplay combat , jeez just stop complaining and just be happy that we are getting something .
no thank you.
We don't need more shitty avatar games. There is already a dozen of them. Make a good one or let the IP be and stop milking it for money.
Bozos like you will unironically be happy with anything lmao. Stop sucking off heaps of garbage.
Nothing at all would have been better, than making it so we have to wait even longer for a good one
You're mentally challenged
0:25 I remember that game
One of the only games I ever returned, I bought it exclusively to play with a friend only to discover it didn't have online play.
Does this game look bad??? No it just isnt a triple a game this game looks arround the same level of fidelity as kirby games and they are really great!
I looked again and it still looks like shit
I dont care what People say. I will buy it tommorow no matter what
Very curious how you are enjoying it
@@flowchartkenYT so far i love it. I mean i loved avatar the burning earth on ps2. And yeah avatar quest for balance in my opion it is not bad. But that is Just me
@@nickhalfwolf totally reasonable to have your own opinion. Glad you like it 👍
@@flowchartkenYT thank you. And yeah i am glad to^^
Gameplay > graphics
true but both look bad
Who cares about comments...make your own opinion
I pretty clearly stated my own opinion
The AI is right!!!
most sensible take
Yea, sadly it's for kids.
nick pls

🫡
I wouldn’t mind some kinda turn based rpg 🙃
action adventure puzzle game it is
So we found your stick. Find something wrong with everything. Make a video on the negative bc it gets more views. One Q is this what RUclips has become? Do we blame social media or do we blame the human psyche. I get one or even a couple but your whole channel is pushing negativity
Please watch the literally hundreds of hours i have spent making content just talking about stuff I am interested in. There is no way even 1/3 of it is negative
*I take it back I went back and looked for you. I'll say maybe 1/10th of my content is just shitting on things that are objectively dog shit and deserve to be shit on. Everything else is just stuff I'm interested in.
I think it's fucking hilarious people think I spend hundreds if not thousands of hours making content for the $2 in ad revenue per video. I just like to talk about stuff I'm interested in, positive or negative. It's not that deep.
I dont care if it looks like a ps1 game i loved every game i bought for it so if its reminding me of all the good times i had playing those ill call it a win cause remember a games graphics dont really repreaent it as a whole and we could absolutely still get a great game out of it even if the graphics look just ok
The graphics for the characters look great you just being a hater.
I am genuinely shocked anyone holds this opinion you are not the first person to unironically think these graphics look good. They look like absolute trash compared to anything made in the last 5 years
A 2d fighter? Booooo gross
