MOTH MIMICRY IT LOOKS JUST LIKE A WASP!

Introducing the Oak Clearwing borer moth - Paranthrene simulans. This is a very impressive wasp mimic that emerges in the spring time in North Florida. I was able to attract them using artificial sex pheromone lures. In this video, I actually catch the moth right along side of a Hymenoptera species that look just like it in the same swing. This is a short video but one that shows off the impressive mimicry of this Sessiid moth species.
