BUTTERFLY HUNTING IN SOLAR ECLIPSE CENTRAL FLORIDA
Просмотров 28112 часов назад
In April of 2024, we had a full solar eclipse. When I was in the field, I simply did not recognize it because the butterflies were everywhere. We were in Central Florida and the butterflies were all over the place. The eclipse did not seem to affect the butterflies at all. Check out this video as my dad and I hunt down some Central Florida butterfly beauties. #solareclipse #butterfly #butterfli...

    Thank you! I recently became a mother of horn worms (they were eating my tomato plants) and i set up an enclosure for them instead of killing them. 9 pupated, 5 have emerged so far but number 5 (female) emerged with a deformed face and an extra long, curly tongue. I know she'll never be able to eat or survive in the wild, so i came across this video looking for the best way to euthenize her. This had some great info! Any tips on how to pin after freezing?

      Hi there. Spiders definitely would be a problem if they got into your container where the eggs are. There are actually many creatures that will suck the eggs dry. I do not believe that the ruddy dagger wing eggs are supposed to turn white unless they’ve already hatched and you’re just not seeing the hatches. Perhaps you’re just seeing the egg shell…..?????

    Is there a way to tell if you have fertilized or unfertilized eggs? I took in a female poly that landed on my front door. I’ve had her for 3 days and she only produced 3 eggs in the time frame. I’m just wondering if she had not mated, would that result in the slow production of the eggs? Silk moths usually lay eggs in the masses. But not this one:( I also have her outside every night in hopes of attracting a male. Just wondering if there is a way to differentiate the eggs?

    • @keysmoths5336
      @keysmoths5336 6 дней назад

      Hmmmm. Not sure if you can tell if they are fertilized just by looking at them. Many species eggs will turn colors as they develops. I’d just wait it out and see if they hatch
