      Charles Moman Could be that many folks haven’t heard of the Rouser. Runaway doesn’t have it in it’s web page. I told them about it and I don’t believe they have added it. I could be wrong. They told me three months ago that they had only sold 14 in almost two years. Told them they need to update their web page.

      @@SuperDeut4 For sure, more would know about it if the Rouser was on their website, but I am quite certain it will never approach the sales of the CoolCamp, RangeRunner or Venturist. Not even close. Runaway's biggest advantage are the small, nimble, light and inexpensive camper trailers they make. There are other choices out there, but most - when compared properly (standard features included) cost more than Runaway and/or take a long time to get delivery. And if you look at the many beautiful custom teardrops out there, their prices often are double, triple and quadruple the Runaway prices. But some are just simply works of art, hence the much much higher cost.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  5 лет назад

      Thanks for watching. First of all - I am not part of Runaway or am I even paid by them. I believe they decided to build a taller camper trailer because some wanted a taller space or have mobility issues or some reason I do not know and you would need to ask them. They decided to stay with the same chassis size of 6x8 - same as their very popular 6x8 RangeRunner to not let a new model totally disrupt their production line. They had a taller one before - the Wav that was very off standard for them and it was a pain. So they stayed with the 6x8 and simply added a coupe of feet for height. Sure they could make a taller one, I suppose, but they cannot make versions for everyone. If it will not work for you, there are a LOT of other choices out there - some build their own and that is great too. But I see my Runaway 4x8 as a sleeping cabin - it is not an RV or should it be viewed and compared as one. The Rouser works for many, but even taller folks love it, because - except for walking in or making getting dressed - they are sleeping or sitting in it. SO the height is not a big deal. Happy shopping!

      Runaway changed the construction of their campers to fiberglass/pvc panels. We have the #001 model of the 6x8 RangeRunner . . . and we have decided to sell it because we are nearing the finish on our 2018 Ford Transit van conversion. Runaway was under no obligation to convert all models, but recently they gave an announcement with a blurred photo that obviously was showing a Rouser model. So the fiberglass version appears to be coming - maybe this spring. I have not been told anything about it, but if it is released I likely will run to Florida to do a new video about it. • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  5 лет назад +2

      I have lived in Seymour since 1973 and still love it, but not every place works for everyone. Not to argue - but I am not sure I would agree with the "more user friendly" phrase. I know you mean it is easier to enter the camper because it is taller, yes. But for most of us, we have the 4x8 and 6x8 models and they are "more user friendly" for us because they are so easy to tow and move around. And they do not hit our gas mileage like any larger camper does. Too many folks (not saying you Lynne) compare these campers to an RV, but these are not RVs - they are a sleeping boxes and for my wife and I perfect for that purpose. We do not want or need a big living room, hitch and bathroom on wheels and I would not want to tow anything bigger - but many have those needs - so a Runaway or similar camper will never meet their needs. So, in other words, to each his own - "user friendly" has a different meaning for each person obviously. Thanks for watching!

      @@lynnenanavanr8009 Yep, I tell people in some of my Runaway videos, that if they have mobility issues they should look at the Rouser or a more standard RV maybe. What I like about the Runaways, is they are not as claustrophobic as some of the teardrops I have seen. I mean some of them are crazy teeny with a low ceiling, where the Runaway, with the square shape have much more headroom. But even with that, it is not enough for some and I fully understand. We live in southern Indiana, so we have hills! : ) And we have kids that live near the beach in CA, and the mountains in CO and WA. So we can get our beach and mountain fixes when we visit them! • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  5 лет назад +1

      First - I am not a part of Runaway Campers. I do not work for them or am I paid by them. The typical Runaway Camper that they are selling VERY well - is like a teardrop, but more like a square drop, with more headroom and space than most teardrops. A lot. They made this for those who just could not crawl in or just wanted more space. These are mot RVs, but should be looked at more as sleeping cabins - so standing all the time is not an issue. So . . . this works perfectly - even if they are over 5'10" because they are normally sitting or sleeping and the less than 6' ceiling is not a major issue. If it is not OK for someone, that is fine and there are many other choices out there. Some Rouser owners are previous Runaway owners who just wanted the stand up version. Take care. Even the TABS - that cost a LOT more, really are not super tall either. Find what works and your are golden.
