Lots of comments about not setting up a tent but yet I see lots of tents/canopies set up.
Folks use them as extra space and for outdoor living. The camper is still the sleeping space. We use ARB awnings that are attached to the roof racks and they are great. When we are really on the move, we do not set up the awnings - we sleep and get up and drive one - super convenient. Take care!
If I didn't have a airstream I would have a runaway, it's appealing how simple they are and light ease of towing expecially for the single lady's👍
We enjoyed ours and now have a new fiberglass 6x8, but now are doing a Ford Transit van conversion - the series is here on my channel. We are keeping the Runaway mainly for use with grandkids. Be safe and thanks for watching.

Hey Charles, great subject! Questions: 1. Do you or anyone you know, ever had any issue with the a/c due the fact it's a residential one? 2. Do you miss not having a roof vent (e.g. MaxxFan or Fantastic Fan) for additional ventilation? My concern with cooling/ventilation is because I live in the desert and likely to travel to FL in the summer. Thanks in advance and keep up the great videos:)
Runaway has sold over 2,000 campers and the AC units work just fine. I have three windows in mine, so we get lots of air movement. So we are fine without a roof vent.

When we are on the road, we just do not like to interrupt it all the time with filming. Travel vlogging just has never interested me and you can find vlogs all over RUclips of just about anyplace you can go. Be safe.
Im tempted, no maintenance and price is crazy cheap!!!!! Only downfall is no bathroom, I wonder if they can custom make one with a bathroom.
I would not hold my breath about that ! 🙂 Many carry a cassette toilet. We never did - we nearly always camped where we had access to a bathroom. We sold our Runaway and converted a Ford Transit into a beautiful camper van. We did not build a bathroom into it. Too much hassle and it’s never been a problem. Good luck!

I've seen a couple of the 2 door jeep wranglers towing the 4x8 and the 6x8, I have a 2 door JK myself, I'm wandering how well the 2 door Jeeps tow these campers? I'm really interested in the 6x8....Thanks
I am pretty sure it would not be a problem. Call Runaway and ask - you might be able to ask Justin Shives. I believe he knows all things Jeep!

@@larryj8924 I am retired and I prepared for retirement, so I am not looking to make money from my creative content - at least not in the Runaway Camper World. The family that owns Runaway are just great people I love. With the half million views of my various Runaway-related videos, I know I have help point more than a few to Runaway. I met several at the recent Homecoming Rally, who said they bought their Runaway as a direct result of my videos and I find that fun and gratifying. And thanks for the compliment - I work on every little film to do better as I learn about the craft. And it is just fun.
Larry J thank you very much, we love our jeep and want to be able to tow a small camper but you don't see much information on a 2 door Towing anything out there. I know that it's rated to tow 2000lbs but I had much rather here from someone that has actually towed with a jeep, so thanks again for this information it is very much appreciated.
P.S. How about braking, any issues with stopping the trailer?
@@QuitKickingTheCan There were 2 or 3 at the Rally with 2-door Jeeps and they have no issues with towing or braking.

Absolutely not. I do not monetize my Runaway videos. I am retired and have fun being creative and this helps me learn more how to use Final Cut Pro. I own a Runaway camper that I paid full price for and I receive no money from Runaway. We are good friends with the owners and love them.
