Brian, I am really enjoying your channel. Thank you for the review on the Dixon pedal. I'm an almost life long member of the 8x14 club and love 'em for a variety of sounds. For real, fantastic content bro
First time on your channel! Saw this after looking for reviews of SPL 468 Series 8X14 snare. Got one from MGR for $79! I owned a Tama 8X14 birch snare decades ago and have regretted it ever since! 😢 Thanks for the vid...would love to see a vid of you playing all of your 8X14's!
Thank you so much! There are so many choices these days for 8x14 snare drums. It's hard to recommend to someone which snare to buy without knowing what it is you're looking for in sound and what style of music but I will say stick with the price range of $150-$350.
Hi Brian thank you for your prompt reply. I generally play, pop, pop rock, funk, hard rock, a bit of heavy metal.. not a lot ...no death metal etc. I saw the new Mapex MPX 14 x 8 snare. Since I use a Mapex Venus I thought th3 Mapex MPX would be a good one to go to . But I'm open to suggestions. After all its all about the tone , the sound etc
Hey man, so sorry for the late reply. I'm just now seeing this. I could demo what snares I have left, I sold off 10 of my 8x14 snare drums and only have 4 left.
All the ska and skapunk band's in the 90's had piccolo snares, if you didn't know they were a ska band before you saw them the piccolo always gave it away 🤣🤣
I didn’t know Denzel plays drums 😝. Thanks so much for the video. I think you convinced me to try out a 8x14 for a small room. I’ve been worried it would pump too much volume but it’s the last snare setup I haven’t tried. I use hydraulic snare heads tuned pretty low.
I am going get 14x8 alluminium snare Sonor Kompressor. Hope we get new videos
“Ruining everyone’s hearing within a 3 miles radius” killed me 😂😂

BCM you rock dude. What a great video. This channel should have 100k subs!
Mike....thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made my day.

I personally don’t like to hit at the middle of snare i like to hig at the edge of the snare for that high tuning tin sound

Hahaha I bought a Pearl free-floater piccolo in 96 at the age of 16. 😆 Still have it and use it, have a 8x14 DW steel shell on the way!
Yo! I saw a reddit post with you talking about playing 4/4(LOL). Been a long time! Glad to so you are doing well!
Love this video. Any suggestions on a 14x8 snare for a beginner drummer I e me
