I was a lifetime watch wearer and definitely at a certain point they aren’t needed any more. Leatherman came out with a multitool bracelet several years ago and I’ve worn that since they came out. Looks great and has tools on it. Limited but still sometimes it comes in perfect.
I used to wear one in the early 90s when they came out lol. Use the tools available 😂 On my samsung watch i can connect and turn off notifications you dont want or need, just like on the phone. As for seeing and not perceiving time, theres a clue its not currently important.
I have an Apple Watch. I push the crown once and then speak the calculation out loud and the result pops up on the screen. You can also touch the crown and say what ever app you want - calculator etc and it will open.
I don't need a calculator so often, but recently my last smartwatch died in a swimming pool (despite being water resistant to infinite depths), and I started using analog automatic watches. Now my life is easier, stress level dropped, and on top of that I am growing a lovely hobby for watches and watchmaking.
I went through this process a few ago and yeah are these the good for anything other then telling the time, no. The heart beat, bp and oxygen level is off. My Samsung note 9 was more accurate... However, I never thought to do what you did, add the app, go to airplane mode bluetooth on and adjust the time then uninstall the app... I may just do that next time the time changes...
I get the time not registering from looking at the phone. I wear a G Shock because it keeps up with my outdoor lifestyle. I destroy smartwatches in days.

MY phone is set the same way. No notifications. I miss my old calculator watch. Coolest nerd in school in the 80s...

Pretty awesome tech review! I'm thankful cause just was checking into these and this helped me make my decision on them. 💯
The CA53W-1 casio is water-resistant 30 bucks.
