In my partners family, her father was given the nickname or "The Phantom Shelf Installer". Based on his habit of adding new shelves everywhere, to cope with the family adding more junk in any space available. When I was added to the family - I came with a similar set of skills and habits. So when Michel passed on I became the New Phantom. Every family needs somebody who can make space work effectively and organise things. I'm most impressed with your solutions and I hope the family appreciate what you can do.
2:03 These stop-motion cleanouts are not only fun to watch, but also kinda funny realizing how they're much more work than a simple cleanout, moving the items a couple inches, taking the picture, moving them another couple inches, etc., etc., _ad infinitum, ad nauseum...._ Appreciate the hard work, Frank! Great content!
You are an amazing carpenter with your workshop and storage needs solutions.....so flexible. I love the way your family all rally round for helping you too. Your self-depreciating chuckle always makes me smile.
I've just done a shop tour of my little workshop and, after watching this, realise that your CNC table is bigger than my entire workshop! Loved seeing your storage solution come together. Greetings from the UK :-)
I laughed so hard at your little camera trick at the drill press, where you just tossed the clamps and they were suddenly attached. I love the care you put into your video editing, Frank!
Although your videos are all about the woodwork, I'm also very amazed by your creativity on how you edit and create your video. Your creativity is out of this world. BIG compliments !!
Wow that’s the biggest bank of drawers I have ever seen made and you are getting so good you have to bring in helpers! I sure hope they pick up some of your awesome skills working with wood! You are going to be the most organized person in the USA 🇺🇸👍✅
I really do admire your commitment to making everything your best work. For something that could easily have been built with quick methods and cheap material. You take your time and use every chance to practice proper methods of fabrication. How else will we get better if we don’t employ these methods every day in every project? I used to scoff at some of the lengths you go for some of the most simple tasks. But when the time comes for the show piece project. You’re practiced and accomplished. Been enjoying your videos for years my friend. Keep it up!
Hey Frank I just wanted to let you know it is really nice to see someone NOT sell out and let tool companies fill their workshop with promotional equipment most of us will never own. I can only assume by now you have been approached by a bunch of them and must have said no. Good on you sir, love the content, keep up the great work!
I’ve only watched part one and two of this series, but I’ve subscribed and am looking forward to more. Wonderful, whimsical editing! Puts a smile on my face
"Sort of like having 32 junk drawers..." Made me laugh. I have one junk drawer. It's a 10x15 storage unit. I still can't find anything. Great video! Thanks!
Great project, Frank! But it will get full sooner than you think. At 3:55, I thought "Seriously? They're painting the inside of the drawers?". I picked up some nice ideas here. Thanks.
Well done my friend they are just what I was contemplating doing in my new shop when its finally finished fingers crossed. Thanks for the insight frank
I have been considering whether to buy drawers or boxes to go into the storage units i'm building or make them myself. After watching this video I think I'm going to buy them. While I think it would be good practise to make it won't be very fun as it looks repetitive and time consuming plus you end up using a lot of plywood so not sure how much cheaper it will be. Including cost for my time it's probably cheaper to buy. Frank, your work is amazing and I am very envious of your shop.
For labels like that I like to use Excel/Google calc. Just set cell size, make a visible black grid, center the text in the cells, print and cut along the lines.
Wonderful stuff again, Frank. I know it's a design choice, and yes, it does look excellent, but please do let us know if you (or perhaps your pets) hang anything off of a French cleat 6 1/2" off the floor! 😂
The cleat at the bottom could come in handy when you need to store something that isn't easy to hang (spare broomstick or a shovel handle, if they don't have a hole in the top). Attach a shelf to the lowest cleat and drill a hole in the shelf for the broomstick.
Oh my. That’s an outstanding project but way too much trouble to store stuff for my garage. Actually much of what you put in the space is out in our garden shed instead of the garage. Seriously this is an outstanding project as are the rest of the things you make. As was mentioned by someone else, there is no way that I’d ever show this video to my wife.
Might I suggest that you do a series on 'Making videos'? I'd be really interested in seeing how you do things like the drawers magically climbing into the shelf unit as well as some of the other effect that you use.
Wonderful storage unit, Frank; it looked amazing! That slab of maple looked gorgeous. I am new here, yet I want to thank you for sharing your creative, meticulous work with us. Did you use the edges for anything? For me, the two most enjoyable types of channels on RUclips are those where people are building anything with wood from their DIY timber frame homes to the furniture inside or training, riding, and caring for Friesian horses from the Netherlands. Both are very restful and educational to watch.

Just when I thought this Sunday cannot get any better, Frank Howarth published a new video ;). Thanks!
I really love the wave motion you do with the drawers!

Incredible! Elegant, simplistic, and extremely functional. Your craftsmanship is phenomenal!
Yes, he does everything with attention to excellence.
Fantastic as always Frank 👍🏼

You even stop-motion-animated the cleanup of the basement junk! Dedication.
That was a whole family project. Looks awesome.
Although your videos are all about the woodwork, I'm also very amazed by your creativity on how you edit and create your video. Your creativity is out of this world. BIG compliments !!
Half of it is metalwork.
All the screws and nails in there....
Well done! Looks like a nice family project. It’s fun to see everyone involved and helping. Your kids are sure growing up! Thanks for sharing.

Lean Manufacturing concepts in the home. Very cool.
Thanks Frank. I think the biggest shocker from watching your videos is just how quickly the little ones are growing up. Its crazy...
That animation at the beginning has to be one of your best openers yet, Frank. That system came out great. Thanks for sharing!
I love how the stop motion shots give an idea of the scale of repetition on some of these projects. Well done
The end result certainly looks top drawer.
amazing part of this build was to involve your kids into the project so they can learn the art of making stuff together 👌
A nice family project, Frank.
just a tip, next time with the dowel pegs, put a slight incline on them. That way if you knock the item, it doesnt easily fall off
I'm in organization mode in my studio and my shop. So I am loving these! I can see something similar in my near future. Thanks for sharing.
I’m sure Bonnie is much happier now! Calvin was a big help and Claire did a great job on the labels!
those handle slots look like crowns. Storage fit for a King! very nice job once again. Best videos on RUclips hands down.
particularly love the self cleaning basement
Wish i had one of those...
the quality of video editing in this is next level
Fantastic idea and very well done Frank.
Optimised!!! Looks great Frank. 😃
Your videos are always entertaining and educational. Thanks

Awesome. Can you really ever be to organized. Very nice.

That bit of drawer "magic" in the intro was an unexpected bit of joyful playfulness.
I’ve only watched part one and two of this series, but I’ve subscribed and am looking forward to more. Wonderful, whimsical editing! Puts a smile on my face
Another cool Frank video! Life is good.
Looks great Frank, well done!
I greatly admire all the hard work you put into everything. I also really enjoy the stop motion you do, its unique and makes your channel special!

Thanks.

Nice work. I love your shop!!!
So beautiful!!!
From plain storage to a piece of art!
Beautiful work. Also WHAT A SHOP!!!
"Where they ended up on top is just where they ended up." Literally the least Frank Howarth thing I've ever heard Frank Howarth say.
You, Sir, have lovely and very helpful children! :)
Anytime you have new video ideas. Live it. The little crowns are nice. Reminds me on older projekcts. cheers from germany, Arne from #kreith32
Oh glorious storage!
Nicely done!
I was really hoping to see the clone help you carry it in. Seems like those clones are never around when the real work needs to be done.
Very nice result congratulations to all familly
Beautiful and organized! 👍🏻
Turned out really nice Frank!
Inspiring! Thanks for taking the time to share it 👍🏻
Toda oficina merece ter algo tão organizado assim, parabéns 👍🇧🇷

That came out great.👍
I'm just trying to work out what's better - your carpentry skills or video skills. Exceptional work.
Great project, Frank. It's good to see you making videos again.

Thanks Frank, the design you put into functional elements is extraordinary. I like it a lot!
Great job and think I need to be working on the same thing garage organization.
1:14 dad expressing frustration. Then the "special thanks" at the end not including the daughter. That's some serious shade thrown.
Just the intro alone blew my mind!
