You have a drawer on a door, shelves on a door and the door is basically hiding in plain sight! It looks just perfect! I love the way you put together so many drawers and slides like mass production and assembly without any issues...you make it look so simple.
Some of the greatest insights are about your thought process, the creativity, mindset and what you're trying to achieve visually with your designs. Was hoping to hear that cello again some time, too. But I'll be patient for next time. With many thanks for what you do for our community, Frank. We're all the better for it. Aloha!
ikr, it's so nice! a hidden room, I think that would also be useful in case someone broke into the house or something, as a hiding space. Secret rooms are always cool
As a woodworker I admire your calm, charmed, logical work flow. But what I like mos about this is the design of this shelving drawer unit , complete with hidden door ! Thanks for sharing.
Frank, I never watch a video of yours without just being amazed at the attention to detail you have in your editing. I love your voice overs. Such a pleasant voice to listen to as well. You must have a mainframe to process your videos. lol
Fantastic work, Frank. I’m sure this took way longer than you had planned, but the result is well worth it. Thank you for sharing your projects and thought processes with us.
Well, if I and so many others hadn't already said what's to be said so many times, I could write half a screen here. For very good reasons, Frank, your creativity, love for details and problem-solving in story-telling, making and videography are unreached in most ways. It's *making it the Howarth way*. All the best from Germany. :-)
"And one thing I've never seen before Is a drawer On a door" I used to adore Your puns - wanted more But now they've become such a bore Like a flat or stale liquor. Listening to them is a tedious chore I'd rather make chum from rotten albacore Watch old reruns of 24 Or just fall on my face while I parkour. I can sit here spewing rhymes galore I can get funny or really hardcore And pun like some half-assed troubadour But I can't do this anymore I now have to run to the store To get a hinge for my humidor. I couldn't just simply ignore Your pun about a silly drawer door. But one thing's was omitted heretofore: Is that door solid or is it hollow core? Hey, love your videos! Keep posting.
I love how Frank gives us his highly technical reasoning on how he made design decisions, and then he makes a little anxious laugh, as if we would disagree with him.
Frank, you give the feeling of being a rocket engineer or a quantum physic scientist that settle doing carpentry. Always having everything square. Your videos are the most harmonious.
I’m always impressed with not only the quality of your craftsmanship, but the volume of work that you get done. Not forgetting the quality editing that has helped your channel grow. I will check out your link.
I had to make about 20 drawrers for my radial arm saw bench, and I made them almost exactly like you did except I used rabbit joints instead of the tongue and groove, but otherwise identical. Seeing you do it the effectively the same way was a nice validation for me.
Looking great, such a fantastic family space, fair play to ya Frank, yet another beautiful job. You'll have to give us the full tour some day. I know she keeps a low profile, but would love to hear your wife's opinion on all the renovations.
Just awesome Frank. The secret door, the curved shelves, the masses of storage in those drawers. Beautiful videography too. Very satisfying to watch! Thanks
Through my apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker and joiner we used a "mirror doublesided tape" (at least that's what we called it) for mounting drawerfronts . It is plenty strong and very thin ~ < 1/10mm so you can leave it on the inside of the front. Just put it in place and give it a little push so it sticks to the drawer. Then drill and screw it from the inside. We used that technique quite often, because we did a lot of push to open drawerslides.
Frank, Truely an amazing project for your home and family. Such a wonderfully designed wall. Your architecture background has really influenced your build. Thank you for sharing this process.
Great project looks fantastic. Nice tips and workshop too! Always satisfying to reuse available materials. Have found a cunning way to hold drawer fronts for fixing. Whatever spacers to line them up then press the fronts on with strong double sided sticky tape. Should have just enough strength to hold in position to open and get fixings in from the back. Great if you can't pin anything in from the front like laminate or veneer.
I like how you left a gap on the right side of all the drawers similar to the gap on the left that is clearance for the door to open. Makes it look so much more even.
Truly epic. I’d love to see a compilation video of all the parts of this series cut together. To see the whole journey in one fell swoop. And I want to see you use the door latch bowl again now that the wall is completely transformed.
Detail I like the most is the way those shelves get gradually shorter to accommodate for the TV. I also like the way you did drawer pulls - very linear. Minimal. All together - it's a work of art.
Awesome wood working as usual Frank! I always learn something from watching one of your videos. That jig that you made for attaching those draw slides was genius.............. 👍👍👍👍
I mean, I get that you like plywood and the exposed wood grain style and you and your family are the ones who are going to live there... But man, the kitchen, the shop, the basement shop, the office, parts (large ones) in all builds pretty much and now this whole shelf wall. I would go insane living around all that :D
Fantastic job, the amount of time and effort you put into this project is mind blowing. I can’t wait to see what you do next. Once again, awesome work👏🏻👍🏻
Absolute Masterpiece! So fun to see a project all come together. A bit of trim here n there.. ok but.. wow. Drawer on a door, and the secret opening.. Massively fun and useful project, and really beautiful. Gonna be even better with a sprinkling of colorful clutter on the shelves. Still wondering what will happen with that window glare.
I like to imagine frank just has a library of chuckles recorded that he just slaps on the end of each sentence.
"Amazingly all the drawers fit". Yeah right Frank! Did anyone have any doubt that any this would go together perfectly? The craftsmanship is amazing
It would be amazing if they didn't.
Thanks. I've had drawers not fit and it's a pain

Frank, that is ABSOLUTELY STELLAR work. As ever, it's a delight to be along for the design, construction, and installation.
Frank, it looks amazing, you wouldn’t even know there was a room behind it.
Thought exactly the same. Nice work
ikr, it's so nice! a hidden room, I think that would also be useful in case someone broke into the house or something, as a hiding space. Secret rooms are always cool

Just another project and video by Frank Hogarth. Outstanding in all respects as expected. Please keep it up.
Fantastic work, Frank. I’m sure this took way longer than you had planned, but the result is well worth it. Thank you for sharing your projects and thought processes with us.
Loved seeing the super-secret turned bowl latch handle twist as the door slid shut.
Hello from Victoria Australia, great video, thank you for showing your home, workshop, and building this entire project.
This is looking spectacular -- it's been a lot of fun watching it come together, and I'm a sucker for a "secret door." :-)

Hey, love your videos! Keep posting.
I spy the burls parked under the table saw. Anxious to see those as bowls. Very nice architectural design of the basement wall!
I love how Frank gives us his highly technical reasoning on how he made design decisions, and then he makes a little anxious laugh, as if we would disagree with him.
I used to think that. Now I think that's just how he chuckles.
“Slightly less than quarter inch plywood” - you can say 6 millimetres, it’s fine.
ha!
Nah! Do not need any of that decimal nonsense!
😂
@@doubledarefan The whole point of the metric system is that decimals are very rarely required!
Matthew Jackson woooOOOooosh
Frank, you give the feeling of being a rocket engineer or a quantum physic scientist that settle doing carpentry. Always having everything square. Your videos are the most harmonious.
Bah! Einstein, Feynman, and Oppenheimer would be glued to this channel.
You did an awesome job in this project, one of the most complex ones together with kitchen remodel. Again, great job, have a nice day, Frank.
I’m always impressed with not only the quality of your craftsmanship, but the volume of work that you get done. Not forgetting the quality editing that has helped your channel grow. I will check out your link.
I must've got distracted before the end of the secret door video... You have a secret bowl lock?? Dude. Freaking classic!
What a beautiful addition to your home. Great job Frank!
Like your kitchen, I've greatly enjoyed the journey and story of this project, Frank. Great job.
So very nicely done. Might even call this space a "Gentleman Cave".
You have such a pleasing narration voice. It's incredible.
Really enjoy all your videos Frank, thanks for taking time to upload them 👍👌 , from over the pond !!!
I had to make about 20 drawrers for my radial arm saw bench, and I made them almost exactly like you did except I used rabbit joints instead of the tongue and groove, but otherwise identical. Seeing you do it the effectively the same way was a nice validation for me.
Beautiful design and execution Frank!!! Thank you for sharing this!
Looks great, Frank! I like the long lines. They give the wall unit a Mid Century flair.
Nice book matching of the draw fronts. Love them old cast machines
Looking great, such a fantastic family space, fair play to ya Frank, yet another beautiful job. You'll have to give us the full tour some day.
I know she keeps a low profile, but would love to hear your wife's opinion on all the renovations.
Fantastic project Frank. I was with you the entire way and it was very enjoyable.
This project has been fun to watch. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and talents.
Just awesome Frank. The secret door, the curved shelves, the masses of storage in those drawers. Beautiful videography too. Very satisfying to watch! Thanks
It all looks fantastic! Very functional, and very clean looking.
Lke all your projects, extraordinarily beautiful and what level of perfection !!
My Regards Mr. Howarth. You are a Great Master.
Through my apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker and joiner we used a "mirror doublesided tape" (at least that's what we called it) for mounting drawerfronts . Then drill and screw it from the inside. We used that technique quite often, because we did a lot of push to open drawerslides.
I so enjoy your videos. I wish they were longer but thank you for what you do.
An idea: Make one of the drawers accessible from the back-side of the wall too, by way of some kind of hatch or "trap-door".
Frank, Truely an amazing project for your home and family. Such a wonderfully designed wall. Your architecture background has really influenced your build.
Thank you for sharing this process.
An elegant concept. The end result is beautiful.
Wow Frank it looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing your progress

Beautiful. Nice job Frank.
Another great outcome Frank, love your work. Thanks !!
The "Wall" looks great. Very simply and elegant.
I like how you left a gap on the right side of all the drawers similar to the gap on the left that is clearance for the door to open. Makes it look so much more even.
That is one cool looking setup Frank! Your family will get many years of enjoyment out of all you hard work on this project.
Nicely done Frank. Thanks for sharing your videos on your projects. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
Truly epic. I’d love to see a compilation video of all the parts of this series cut together. To see the whole journey in one fell swoop. And I want to see you use the door latch bowl again now that the wall is completely transformed.
Great construction as usual and I really like the finished design. Very clean.
Detail I like the most is the way those shelves get gradually shorter to accommodate for the TV.
I also like the way you did drawer pulls - very linear. Minimal.
All together - it's a work of art.
This was an amazing build. Thanks for taking us along. I enjoyed the build and learned some techniques as well.
Love it! Get those wires tidied behind the TV though 😉
The Whimsical Perfection Of Frank Howarth. I look forwards to the table top book someday.
I love it. What a cool set up. Love the hidden door!
I love how you hung these, we get flooding in the basement if the sump pump fails, something like this would prevent ruining a shelving project.
Truly incredible and imaginative work. Coming together beautifully.
This content is expected to be dull yet you make every video fascinating and brilliant. Thank you
Awesome wood working as usual Frank! I always learn something from watching one of your videos. That jig that you made for attaching those draw slides was genius.............. 👍👍👍👍
That really looks great Frank thumbs up my friend
Space looks amazing I love the warm orange tones and grain patterns of old growth dough fir.
Beautiful stuff. And some good trademark chuckles.
Really nice the way this all came together....and reused much of what you already had too.
I mean, I get that you like plywood and the exposed wood grain style and you and your family are the ones who are going to live there... But man, the kitchen, the shop, the basement shop, the office, parts (large ones) in all builds pretty much and now this whole shelf wall. I would go insane living around all that :D
Great project! And the family are happy !
Fantastic work, Frank!
Great job Frank looking great
Awesome work Frank! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
The way the whole wall appears to float above the floor is very appealing. Very nice design work, thank you for sharing.
Excellent video! I enjoy these videos of you doing the hands on woodworking instead of CNC work...which is great technology, but I am old school.
Great renovation. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely wonderful work, Frank :) That all came together beautifully!
Turned out so good Frank!
I love that drawer handle idea. Looks so clean, amazing caftsmanship!
That jig for attaching the slides was genius!
“Drawer on a door” needs to be a children’s book. Basically a animated version of this.
I would listen to audiobooks narrated by frank !
people watch asmr videos to calm themselves or help them relax, i watch these. they kinda relieve my anxiety and are really enjoyable
Frank's videos are the only ones for which I let go of the mouse, move the chair away and cross my legs to watch until the end :)
I really love these videos they inspire me to build, thank you Frank for sharing your knowledge with us all on RUclips. Thanks Paul.
Fantastic job, the amount of time and effort you put into this project is mind blowing. I can’t wait to see what you do next. Once again, awesome work👏🏻👍🏻
Love this so much! Well done frank!
"Onething i've never seen befoar is a droar on a doar"
Frank's delight at having this is contageous
Very NIce.....
Drawer On a Door!
That is cool!
Loved following this project from beginning to end. Great craftsmanship and care...and now you have a drawer on a door.
Frank that looks amazing. I always love your precision in the work you do.
Love the rag doll!
That turned out awesome! Nice work.
Wow! Great work. Great design.
It looks so amazing frank.
Amazing work Frank. It's really beautiful. I thought it looked too plain in the beginning, but seeing it all complete is stunning.
you constantly make me laugh and man do I enjoy watching you solve problems...thanks for sharing with us
Building things is completely different when you have to document it in video. Great work!
I absolutely love it!
That setup looks absolutely fantastic Frank! Really enjoyed watching this come together.
Beautiful work.
Looks amazing. Well done.
Wow, that looks so great! Awesome job, thanks for bringing us along!!
Beautiful job Frank (as we've all come to expect). Thanks for sharing!
