- This clip shows a C-2A Greyhound flying an ILS instrument approach to a full stop in Cold Bay, Alaska (PACD). As you can see, the COD is always a handful to operate, whether a landing ashore or a boat landing. The footage is from TRANSPAC Summer 2016 - a ferry flight to move Password 33 from California to Japan via the Aleutian Islands. This journey is made possible by filling the inside of the C-2 with up to 6 Extended Range Fuel tanks.
Reminds me of my old C-1A days; except we didn't have an ILS aboard -- or reverse thrust. But we did have purple magic as our go juice and a tail hook to stop.
Hello, can I use a few seconds of footage please.
Glad to see you back on RUclips! Or at least uploading on RUclips.
6 Extended Range fuel tanks. How often is a trip like this completed?
HOLY CROW those stick inputs! is it because you are flying so slow on approach or does the greyhound lack a FCS?
Greyhound is all mechanical.. 1960s tech..
