C-2A Greyhound ILS 4K UHD
This clip shows a C-2A Greyhound flying an ILS instrument approach to a full stop in Cold Bay, Alaska (PACD). As you can see, the COD is always a handful to operate, whether a landing ashore or a boat landing. The footage is from TRANSPAC Summer 2016 - a ferry flight to move Password 33 from California to Japan via the Aleutian Islands. This journey is made possible by filling the inside of the C-2 with up to 6 Extended Range Fuel tanks.

This video shows the break, approach, arrested landing, and catapult shot of a US Navy C-2A Greyhound from VRC-30 DET 1 onboard the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle (R91). It is a rare opportunity/occurrence for US and French Naval Aviators to operate off the decks of their counterpart aircraft carriers. VRC-30 utilizes the C-2A Greyhound to provide logistical support to aircraft carri...

This is a video for the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the C-2A Greyhound. The COD's first flight took place on 18 November, 1964. Since then, the aircraft and it's crews have supplied the carrier fleet with high priority logistics. This video shows some amazing insight into the mission of the COD as well as the challenge/thrill of flying the COD. Songs (in order): MuteMath - One More ...

Sir can i use a few seconds of clips for an upcoming video we have. We have just found an unkown son of Jimmy Van Bussem. Jimmy was on the Greyhound Flight RG-407 that went down en route to Vietnam from Cubi Point in the Philippines, 12th December 1971. His son Dennis has been trying to find out who his Father was for 53 years. We just had an ancestry dna kit come back matching Jimmy’s brother in America and the family are elated. 🙏

    - These fine folks brought our mail (at sea on CV/ CVN's) plus all-manner of parts/ spares/ consumables for our Jets (+ PAX, etc . . . .) - including myself on the old Kitty Hawk (2 Traps & a Cat, I'm happy to say); We used to call them "trash haulers" - THEN ( nearly all of our off-ship supplied "sh*t" on the boat ) - now, that I'm old, I only see the mighty Grumman C-2 "Greyhound" COD, in this very well produced tribute, "as advertised" - . . . . damn, now I miss the Boat & the Flightdeck - though I NEVER thought I would . . . .(AM1(AW) USN ret) VQ-2, VF-41, VF-2, NWTS Pt Mugu, VFA-27, NAF/ AIMD Misawa, CVN-76, IM-2) I don't really like "Thank You for your Service" - but if you want to anyway, instead Thank THESE FOLKS ! ! ! for theirs ! There are only two countries in the entire world that operated Nuclear Powered Aircraft Carriers. That’s The United States with 12 CVN’s and France with 1. The CVN Fleet has 12 Carriers. 11 on active duty. And one in the final stages of Construction. The Carrier fleet consists of 10 Nimitz Class Carriers and 2 Gerald R. Ford

Interesting shots of planes in action but during full operations the carrier deck wasn't empty there were planes all over the carrier deck waiting for launch in had just been recovered. We did occasionally do deck launches without aid of catapults with certain cargo like munitions.

The plack holders of VRC 50 first squadron to work the everlovin out of the C2 literly flew them day and night around the clock to support the carriers off coast if Vietnam support up to 3 carriers at once and occasionally 4 at that time they only had 4 blade props which were used for several years We lost on plane from they figured from gearbox explosion resulting in loss of control for maintaining flight. We did have couple three gearbox that blew up and did some damage to structer of the fuselage but they were able to fly them in for landings with one engine.
