@Paul Middleton Justin grew up in a viciously racist and homophobic society and he was mocked, humiliated, ridiculed, vilified and abandoned. He was also given away by his mother and he could never come to terms with that. Shameful. Just look at the comments above from the moron who calls himself Cozzy. This clown still hasn't worked out, all these years later, why Justin killed himself, and the role that people like him played in the tragedy. He deserved a lot, lot better.

Never forget going to see Sunderland play at Wimbledon, early 90's, 2-2 draw. You were right on top of the pitch at the old Plough Lane. We had an 18 year old centre half at the time called Richard Ord and he had Fashanu in his pocket which was really riling him up. A corner came over and Fash deliberately snapped his head back to butt Ordy in the face, split his eyebrow open. As he laid on the ground, Fashanu bent over him, said something and rubbed his finger through the wound before walking away smiling. A few of the team came to the pub that London branch used after the game , Ordy was one of them and he had stitches. He told us what Fashanu said to him as he poked the finger in, I won't repeat it on here as it was a private conversation that we were advised should go no further but suffice to say it was disgusting. It wound up our club Captain Gary Bennett so much that a few minutes after the incident he went through Fashanu like a knife through butter on a 50/50 and he limped off moaning. Benno was one of the nicest characters you could meet (Unless you were David Speedie), it took a lot to wind him up like that. My estimation of 'Fash the Bash' went through the floor that day.
Cliff fascinating story. Thank you for sharing. When I was a TV reporter for the 6 o clock news in london in the 80s I often went to Wimbledon and experienced first hand the crazy gang. Fashanu was brutal and he also tried to bully the media. I remember he called me one Monday morning after he didn’t like what I said about him in my match report in the previous day’s Sunday mirror. Can’t remember the incident but he was objecting to me saying he was guilty of a bad foul. He was not a person to cross. But I stood my ground. John Gubba.
@@VISIONSPORTTV Glad to hear Fashanu didn't take any rubbish from two overtly racist industries at the time - media and football. You all thought he was supposed to plead for his dignity, instead he took it.
Rewatch the match between Southampton and Spurs at the Dell, where Spurs scored five goals, Ronny Rosenthal with a brace I think, and you will see Bruce Grobbalear doing his upmost to concede as many goals as possible. As for George Best, I dont think I've ever heard him say anything positive about another human being before.
Yeah Georgie, it’s 11 and 11, and that might sound as a reasonable point against fixing a game, but when it’s a goalkeeper, it’s 1, and that one is the keeper of the gate! Pay off the gate keeper and 11 against 11 is a hollow justification indeed.
