Younger people forget that even if a movie had been made, that doesn't mean it was always being shown. It wasn't. You had to wait until Sunday, Disney hour at 7pm. So, most of us carried the images in our minds. We could read the story and mentally picture what each character looked like. Even having said that, my big problem isn't that Snow White is played by a Latina. If they stuck to the story line, it could have been brilliantly done. I take Objection to the double standard. Disney feels it's ok to cast a nonCaucasian in a clearly white role, unnecessarily. Think about the movie Roots with white people, or picking a white person to play Samson, or the cast of the Color Purple. What about Pocahantas having long yellow hair, and blue eyes, and pale skin.?
