Thanks for being a great escape from all the bad news we're dealing with these days. Watching Storm running all out -- so happy to be doing what she loves, is good for the soul.
Och aye !! I just love your channel. I'm in San Diego, CA, USA !! I have a good friend who was born in Renfrew (Spelling ?) in Scotland. Originally from Bulawayo, Rhodesia, in what what is now known as Zimbabwe. Keep up the good work and videos !!
We were blessed to have been given the opportunity to spend a lifetime with our Border Collie Sammy. We got him as a pup and he was with us til the end of his time here which was a short 11 years. He was so bonded to me and I to him. He definitely challenged me physically and mentally. He died on my wife's lap one Friday morning. I so miss him. Looking back I can see a lot of things I would do differently if I had the chance. He taught me a lot about myself. These videos bring a tear to my eye every time.
Love how she has two speeds. Lie down and full-speed ahead. Love Border Collies. My Tara lived until 18. When I no longer had sheep she would herd my tractor in the open fields. Best dog ever.
There was a huge point to that exercise......you and doggy get to play and keeps you out of wife's way on a Sunday.......well done sir ..... well done....
Watching you train is so interesting. The dogs are so loyal and respond so well. Training takes patience. The overjacket is a great way to advertise. Now keep warm and safe. Greetings to Stacy. 🌲🌲🌲
The lamb that went off on its own is the "Black Sheep of the family". LOL I need to learn to love working out as much as your dogs do. It looked like Storm was trying to intimidate one particular cow in the barn.
It was a fun video! I was laughing at your sheep. They have such thick coats and it makes their legs look tiny. Watching them run with tiny little legs made me laugh. They are beautiful! Always love watching the dogs work. Was Storm teasing that cow? 😂😂😂 So so cute! 😊
Enjoy watching you with your dogs and the bond you've formed with them. It's a very interesting and healthy life being outdoors in the fresh air instead of stuck behind a 🖥 computer all day ! We love you, Sean, and appreciate you sharing your life with us. ❤
Thx for bringing a workout with Storm. She is a marvel to watch. The sheep must get a bit weary of these workouts. The sheep must get extra hungry too. Well, as long as everyone is healthy and happy, that’s what counts!!! 🐾❤️🐕🦺❤️
Subscibed? I am totally hooked on the Dog Family. My entire family makes fun of me. Two things I hear them say the most, where's mom watching those dogs again or they say OK mom what did your dogs do today. For me it's simple, I like dogs better than I do people lol. There's also the addition of the Scottish accent you have and the beautiful scenery of Scotland. You should do a TV show, I would be glued to the tube. Merry Christmas to you, your charming wife, and of course those exceptional dogs.
So good to always hear you tell your dogs "good girl, good boy" etc. Our Patriot thrives on those words of kindness. These are such loving animals. Glad to see that you are always so good to them as they work hard even with the other farm animals during your long working day. Thank you for sharing these wonderful dogs with others that don't own them. We that do have them in our lives are blessed greatly. Merry Christmas to you and Stacy. Be blessed. From the Great N.W. Highlands to the Scottish Highlands!
Such a joy to watch your videos. Storm is wonderful. All the digs are. The landscape is gorgeous. Your patience and training is in point. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Sean. Thoroughly enjoyed. Watched twice just to relax and take my mind off of things. My tri-colored Border watches the videos (not joking). Her ears prick up at the sound of the whistles. While we both find it entertaining, I know it is work. Hugs to Storm, Kate, and Echo (and Monty).
She's such a well-behaved beauty and hard-working dog - though she didn't like that one cow much! I'm glad to see Storm working well again - I just watched your two videos of when she was ill with that infection. Nice to see she's back fully to herself.
Well, everyone certainly got their steps in today, sheep included! Storm, as usual, is a beautiful and hard-working girl, even it is just for fun! The hebrideans like to stick together like glue, don't they? (Except for that one renegade...) They always make me smile, the way they move so quickly. Thank you for sharing this session with us, Sean! Have a great weekend!!
Thank you Sean and Storm - subscribed- I just loved watching the two of you work together. Our Kelpie is a failed cattle dog, her nose gets the better of her and she loves chasing down smells instead of cattle, lol.
Storm and Sean; a great working and loving team relationship today! I have a great deal of admiration for the efforts you put into keeping your pups healthy and happy. When you asked Storm if she was OK at the end I found myself smiling. Everyone should care for and love their pets as much as you do. The world would be a better place. Wishing you, Stacey, and pups a wonderful Christmas!Well, that ‘ll do.💚💚🐾🐑🐏
These working dogs are definitely not pets! They're well-cared-for and respected partners. I love to watch the relationship between all of you. It's great to keep the dogs engaged during winter so they don't get bored. A collie without a job will become self-employed and it may not be a good choice! Cheers to all🫣🐾🐾🐾
@@deborahsexton3871 There are many definitions of the word “pet”. Don’t get so technical. A seeing eye dog is a working pet. A police dog is a working pet. A herding dog is a working pet. I’m not going back and forth about this. Have a great day!
@@eld406 I I don't think anyone with a working dog calls them pets. I have been herding with my 3-year-old BC and my last collie was a service DOG, not a service pet. I think it's kind of disrespectful to categorize trained working dogs as pets. In my opinion…
@@deborahsexton3871 Your opinion; not mine! My original comment was directed to Sean. He liked my comment and didn’t feel the need to correct me. That’s really all that matters to me. Thanks for your concern about vocabulary but it really isn’t necessary. Have a great day.
Oh my goodness, Storm is a wonderful working dog! She is one smart cookie! Sean, do you think the dog cam in slow motion would be interesting to see? Your dogs are amazing to watch when they are working and, with the last slo mo video, when they play. Thanks for sharing.
I'm going to look through your videos for one that talks about how you learned to do all of this and train your dogs. My dogs aren't herders, but I need to learn more training skills. Many thanks!
If I'd ever had sheep, I always wanted an Alsatian. As a boy, had a shepherd that was a outstanding pointer but never gave up being gun-shy. No matter the loud noise, over the fence and in the front door 😊
For a minute I was thinking, "What about teaching commands to the sheep?" But then you'd have a lot of out of work sheepdogs & you'd probably be picketed, so ... not a good idea. 👍👍
We love collies. We've had several over the years and love their sweet temperament. They're so gentle with kids and laid back. We had sable and Merle rough collies. We could never keep a border Collie happy due to our limited size lot. From what I understand the border collies need a job and are extremely type As. That said, they still have a lovely disposition and are as sweet as their rough counterparts. Your videos are an uplifting break in a world gone crazy. Thanks guys. ❤
This is such an Awesome video. I'm not a Shephard, nor do l even own any livestock. . . pf any kind. Your Dogs are great, @what they've been trained to do. Might l also say that the Sheep you own, are so cuters😊😢thanks so much for sharing this w/us seantheshephard.
Looks like a few cows to feed. I can see what you say about these dogs always snapping at the stock if they are not kept busy. Storm minds you with just a short call. I do not think these dogs are good for a city pet. They need too much daily exercise and most people do not exercise their dogs enough. Our little Pomeranian / Yorkie goes for 3 - 8 mile walks daily. She is very upset if she doesn't get that walk in and she is much calmer in the evening too. She has a schedule like a small child. She is in bed by 8:00 pm most nights.
Sheep have different eyes compared to us. Google sheep pupils and you can see how long they are. That and the eyes being on the side of the sheeps head allows them to have almost 360 degree vision. So they can see Storm even without looking back at her like a human would have to. That makes them able to react to the dogs movements super fast and it creates the Illusion that the sheep also know the commands 😉
What a fantastic clip. You know your BCs better with livestock. I had two sisters, sadly I lost one back in may 23, The one left has come on so great. Both came from a farm working background. Mazzy is great around livestock and her recalls are brilliant....but IV never worked her. IV a farming background so know what the basics are for dogs around livestock. She didn't take to pigs....i know why.
You can just imagine the one sheep that went into the bushes sitting in a chair having a coffee and watching the show thinking “What are you doing. Make up your mind.”

I am amazed that the dogs can hear so well with what looks like a huge distance between the shepard and the herding dog.
It’s just enjoyable to see how your dogs work. I smile all the time watching your videos.
Those crazy sheep and hardworking, beautiful Storm. ❤

Storm is a “ paw crosser” at rest. My Belgian Shepherds also crossed their front paws. So sweet. What a fine dog she is!
Storm runs for hours training and she probably goes right back to playing hard for her break..... So much energy!!!

Storm does such a great job .. from the voice, to the whistle .. she knows what is expected of her :) Great job Sean.

Such a joy to watch. She is ever ready to work and having fun at it. Even supervising the cows ahaha .. love Stormy!
A real pleasure to watch storm enjoying the work. Always sixty miles an hour.
Amazing speed.

Welcome aboard! Awesome love kelpies too
Storms session today reminded me of my Brawn dog who was very strong eyed and could control the sheep from a great distance. Brought so many memories
She certainly loves her work!❤
Amazing how the sheep respond to the dog's movement when she's relatively far away (from my human perspective).
Love to see Storm testing that cow. Storm & Echo are such great assets! Love their names!

Hi Jule and you!!
Great video, Sean! Looks chilly out there for you, though.
I love these types of quadrupeds.
Great vid. That one sheep needs training lol ty for sharing
How do you get a dog to know and obey a whistle sound?
Good dog, she wants to do a good job.
Even the sheep listens and follows command 😂❤
I just love your dogs and your videos. As others have stated it is a welcome respite from all the crazy in the world.
