I'll be honest guys, I don't think it's too bad. Is it fast? Absolutely not and would I prefer more power? Of course, but I live in Ireland, we have no unlimited autobahns, maximum we can legally do is 120 Kmh. It's more than acceptable but that's just my own opinion
The Insignia 1.5 Diesel isn't that slow in the grand scheme of things. It managed an indicated 134 mph (likely a true 126 mph) on the autobahn with only 120 bhp. That's reasonably impressive. You can also remap these to 150 bhp and 252 lb ft so I suspect 0-60 mph would be in the late 8's and top speed would likely increase to 135 mph or thereabouts. As a family car, that's more than sufficient.
@@Jimbo8012it's not the top speed that's problem but getting it there lol. And you are not going to enter late 8's in 0-60 with 150hp because 174hp one does it in 8.9s but high 9s would still be much better than 11.6s stated by Opel
Not bad for 120hp. Not everyone needs a 200hp car. I will get a more powerful one, but for cruising at normal speeds this engines achieves a very good fuel consumption.
I'm undecided between this car and the 1.5 diesel Peugeot 508, which one would you recommend? I'm curious about your answer or are there any other D segment vehicles you would recommend?
I drive a 2007 Mondeo mk4 1.8tdci with very similar stats and yeah those 3 cylinders in this Insignia are very underwhelming xP I hope I can get my hands on a 2.5T mk4 cuzz I just love those Volvo 5i engines, they are nuts :-D
Today we tested our Volvo v60 and we did the mountains with it and frankly I find that even at 76kmh and in a fairly steep curve that the road sticks really well we can have fun too But frankly it can be super well stuck
Tobe honest it’s better then from someone that has been using it daily short distance. Rental cars have a very high maintenance standard and in many countries have tobe check by authorities more often.
Not bad (Still quite slow) for a station wagon which has "only" 122hp Opel may not always have made great interiors but great engines do it all the time!
This engine is a total crap, as well as the new one 2.0d (problems with oil pressure). Also the new insignia is now PSA, you cant even change brake pads without connection to dealer's software

I had this Opel with the 1.5engine as a rent car for few days, sometimes it was scary to overtook a truck… who need engines like this ?! Maybe as a manual, ok but not as an automatic ! Useless engine …. 🤦🏼♂️
I have Insignia B Grand Sport with 2.0 biturbo and it's a really good car for make long travel

Imagine driving this thing with 4 adults fully loaded and trying to pass a slow vehicle on some busy country road :D
Haha, of I ever try I film it and call the movie mission impossible. It will most likely take longer then then a normal movie
The insignia is more like a cruiser and not a race car. lol
Because of that its good to buy racechip or made ecuremap

If you are not in Germany on an unlimited Autobahn there is no real reason for more especially in countries with high fines

3 cylinder diesel?
The video I watched influenced my decision not to purchase a used car that had previously been a rental car
Tobe honest it’s better then from someone that has been using it daily short distance. Rental cars have a very high maintenance standard and in many countries have tobe check by authorities more often.
really like the insignia b, but i would go for one of the 4 cylinder engines. I think the 2 liter with 170hp is good.
Yea for sure the 1.5 diesel is not enough for the car it feels very slow
Warum schält des Ding denn immer so früh hoch? 😅
hold on..... i am confused. does this car have 3 or 4 cylinders? any advice on buying a used one?

76 decibel at 200km/h awesome!!!
over all good car but the three cylinder runs a bit rough

Good car just need better engine like older insigna 2.0d from 110 to 170hp
Yes I agree that engine is just to weak
All new cars are coming with 3 cylinders now that ruins the fun of driving them☹️
3 cylinder Diesel engine
New Hyundai tucson 180 HP test drive please
I can't believe they took out the excellent 1.6 CDTI and put this PSA garbage inside it instead.
Very good video😁😃👍🚗
This car is good but in this video this car has bad engine ☹👎
the consumption of the engine was great but it feels very slow and the engine runs a bit rough
@@TopSpeedBrothers yeah 3 cylinders + diesel :/
worse than petrol ones. diesel run very smooth with 6 cylinders
If it's not downhill rather more than 122 cv....🤣🤣🤣🤣 good test!!!!
absolutely almost 20kmh downhill bonus
Sounds like 6 Zylinder engine. lol
poor rental car, i feel sorry for the owners ;(

why opel add 270 km/h speedometer this car it is pathetic
haha it is a bit optimistic
Meanwhile my corsa D 1.7 131hp has 220kmh speedo and reached 211km/h
Same speedometer uses 2.0 turbo Petrol with 200 hp
9 speed or 8
I double checked yes its a 8 Speed. Only the 2.0 petrol engines are with the 9 speed
