Your videos have been my absolute favorite lately. We will be utilizing a lot of the same curriculum you used for your daughter’s kindergarten curriculum. Currently researching more about Eureka, but it is a little overwhelming. We also purchased Pinwheels based off your recommendation and all of the material was also overwhelming at first, but we are just rolling with it and so far so good! I just wanted to let you know I appreciate you and the time you take to make these videos :)

That really means so much! I love that Eureka is free, but I can understand it being overwhelming, for sure. The embarc.online website helps me a ton, but it also helps that I already used the curriculum when I taught in the classroom so I'm familiar with it. Pinwheels is definitely A LOT of setup. I was hesitant to use it, but am soooo glad that it has worked so well for us. I hope that the curriculum works well for you, but if not, I hope that you find something that fits great with your family!! ❤️

@@AutumnRomano I love that Pinwheels is all encompassing! I was torn between Pinwheels, Logic of English, and All About Reading. What I decided is to just buy the Logic of English game book to use in combination with Pinwheels to add a little more fun. Do you have any plans/ ideas for what you will transition to after your daughter completes Year Two of Pinwheels? My uncertainty about what we would use following was the only reason I was hesitant about choosing Pinwheels. All About Reading felt like the safer option, but after much research and emailing with the ladies at RIL it was evident that Pinwheels creates a stronger foundation. It’s crazy to me that Pinwheels is such a hidden gem on this platform!

@@kristensantos11 I may continue with RIL and do Wand. I've looked through it and it seems like the right fit. I haven't fully decided yet though. And, yes, it definitely is a hidden gem. I think that the initial setup can scare people off though. I completely understand wanting to get something that is printed nicely and ready to go!

I’m curious how you teach your daughters to hold a pencil correctly for handwriting? (As opposed to a fist like when they are starting out). I’m struggling with that for my 2.5yr old and not sure how to do it! Any advice?

I let my daughter grip with her fist for a while. I also let her use playdough (shaping letters and other things) as well as manipulatives and tools (tweezers, droppers, etc) to strengthen her fine motor skills before she used a pencil. When she was ready though I used these (amzn.to/3VivOTS) pencil grips on these pencils (amzn.to/3USlQah) to help her use the tripod grasp. Eventually she no longer needed the grip support and we also moved to regular sized pencils. I hope that helps!!
