Upgraded from a 2016 in this colour (Icon Blue) to a 2023 SP. For anyone concidering this bike, go for the SP! The Öhlins suspension is just amazing. The SP bullies bumpy backroad twisties like nothing i`ve ever ridden
Could you tell much difference from the old model to the new? Looking at second hand market you can find some really cheap deals on the older model so curious if there’s a big difference or not?
@@britboybike_adventures3813 Biggest difference is how much less snatchy the new one is. On the old one the B mode (3 mode from `18) is damn near useless, it`s just too jerky and snatchy. On the new one riding in most powerful mode is a doddle. And now you can set up the bike within the rider modes. On the old one there`s just Std,A and B. On the new you can have rider mode B with power on 1, liftmode 2 and engine braking on 1 or 2. for example. And it`s not as thirsty as the old one, not even close. I would definatly go for the new one if you can swing it. And if not, go for the old one because the MT-10 is a very special bike new or old. Edit. I didn`t notice that you are the video creator lol. Obviously you know the new one. The old one is that only abit more "rough" with fewer riding modes
@@EVILSPAWN1003 No don't worry about the creator item, that was really helpful thank you. I'm still learning and there's lots. So is A mode the most powerful one on the new one? I agree with you, it's special and it made me want to buy one immediately haha but I was curious on what the value is for the new one compared to the old! I like the dark grey version on the new model but without the blue wheels (I'd just put the white wheel stickers)
@@britboybike_adventures3813 Depends on your budget i guess. The MT-10 is hands down the best bang for the buck old or new but if you can afford a new one it is a better bike. @britboybike_adventures3813 I had a new gen '22 mt09 and I found a '19 mt10 with 1k mi for $9800 a couple of summers ago. The mt09 was fun with the newest electronics/6 axis imu, but I decided to keep the big mt10 at CONSIDERABLY worse fuel mileage and 50lbs heavier. I took a huge loss on the mt09 as supply finally caught up with the pandemic effects. As good as the Yamaha cp3 is, the cp4 is even better, especially after pulling that boat anchor of an exhaust/emissions systems off and and getting it running like it should. I know we are both moving into the winter months but happy and safe riding to you.
Picked mine up recently for £12.5k new with Yamaha throwing in £1k of accessories. There are deals out there for 2022 models which is the same as 2023. Such a bargain. Some might call it ugly but I consider it a blank canvas so you can make it your own. Loving it so far. Going down the exhaust route can prove expensive though. The sound better be important to you as it doesn't really need any more power.
Niceeee, what colour did you go for? The dark grey is my favourite. Not bad considering it’s only a year old, I agree with you, looks wise I really like it - I think everything just flows from a design perspective. It’s not super important but I want to amplify that sound hahah!
@@britboybike_adventures3813 Icon Blue. I could of gone with Tech Black and dressed it up with other colours but that wasn't an offer colour. They 'had' Cyan Storm but it wasn't for me personally. @stevecade857 No mate, I tried my luck. They said that was only on a full price bike. I'm getting a pre reg with 0 miles and saving 2k. I did try though. Debating if I should get any extras, don't think the end can will be worth the price. I have a BW end can from the Ninja I will PX. Contemplating getting rad and oil covers added in and maybe a screen.
I had a Ducati 848! Needed more speed. Bumped up to a Ducati 1198s! Perfect! Pulled like nobody's business. Problem was it was in TOO Good of condition (showroom) to ride on a regular basis Traded it in for a 2020 low mileage MT 10 with oodles of add on's. NOT quite as fast as the 1198s but far more comfortable. Also lacking low end torque of that 1198 jewel! Thanks for video!
Really helpful thank you. Do you ever look back and think I made the wrong decision? Sounds like you're pretty happy. Reason I ask is I find myself at the same crossroad, keep my beautiful yet incredibly uncomfortable italian masterpiece or trade that for comfort (while still upgrading power) and usability? Great review and bike! I have the previous generation (which I think looks more awesome), but this new one - the SP in particular, is very tempting. I can't think of any other street/naked bike I'd want over the MT. To me it seems like you are haveing the bike in the least agressive Power mode (based on the throttle input needing to get it kicking). You should have tried PWR1 also... 😃 (unless I'm mistaken - but everyone that tries this bike should at least have a little visit into that mode...)
Thank you, I appreciate it! Out of all the bikes I've tried, I think it's the one that's impressed me the most, it just seems so much fun for the price. If I buy it, I'll be sure to put it on the top mode then 😉
I don't know tbh, I'm 6ft and I felt comfortable on it without feeling like a giant. I don't think I looked weird on it either. I think you'd be fine but definitely worth test riding it just in case
Man! Those closed-in hedge-row lanes with NO "shoulder" or visibility to the side... I'd have a claustrophobic attack. Oh for the wide open spaces of the US! (-:
Haha funny you say that, whenever I go through one of those corners the thought that goes through my head is: “what if a tractor is behind that bend!”. All I can do is slow down and take it wider coming in but that’s about it 😂. Oh yes, US roads are good to test out top speed 😉
