"Like the Rain" is such a fantastic song. I also really love "When I Said I Do" with his wife. I was pleased to have that song play when we did our vow renewal for our 20th anniversary.
cant go wrong with Clint!!! "A bad goodbye" with Wynonna is brilliant duet, "Still holdin on" with Martina Mcbride, and of Course the ultimate love song for couples, "WHEN i said i do" sung with wife Lisa Hartman is a must listen!!Highly recommend for the que
For some reason, Martina doesn't get played on their channel, I think its because Concrete Angel was hard on Mama. They haven't played Independence Day, yet, or the duet with Bob Seger, Chances Are, an upbeat one they would love, My Baby Loves Me. I wish they would, they are missing out on one of the Queens of Country. Hope it's not because she's from Kansas🙃
@@allenwhitmer8192 makes sense, which is disappointing too, martina has so many more happy and upbeat songs, i just dont want them to miss out. Starting off with Concrete Angel may not have been the best decision...it just wrecks you as a tune....
One of my favorite songs and artist. Clint is part of the “Class of 89” along with Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, and Travis Tritt. All four men had their debut this year and basically defined the sound of 90s country.
Clint has a ton of great songs, but you have to check out the duet he did with his wife, Lisa Hartman, When I Said I Do. He wrote it for her, and convinced her to sing it with him.
Clint Black is so good. His song Good run of bad luck is so good and has some awesome harmonica too! Also his remake of the Eagles Desperado is great too. A better man and like the rain are really good too.
T ADD Yb EAR. Love Teddy bear Teddy bear, how bout a Teddy bear? Teddy bear's the song. That is the song R ADS O Vi NA red Sovan. Hey, there's a song, Teddy bear.
I just got into country in the 80s. Clint Black, George Strait, Randy Travis, Dwight Yoakam, Ricky Skaggs, Alan Jackson…. It was a fun time in country for me, two-steppin’ in the honky-tonks with my future ex-husband. Our second date was to see Dwight play on a stage set up outside of a bar - he was too big to play inside, but barely known yet….
Love, love, LOVE Gentle On My Mind. Always was my favorite Glen Campbell song. The Band Perry covered it very nicely as well. His daughter Ashley has a super nice live version of it with Carl Jackson from a few years ago. Come to think of it, Ashley has a fantastic rendition of Pancho and Lefty as well - she has her dads knack for story telling with her voice.
Dwight Yoakam came out in the mid to late 80s. His remake of "Streets of Bakersfield" is so good, he plays it with the original singer Buck Owens. Then "Guitars, Cadillacs" is another good one. No one wore a pair of jeans like Dwight. 😊He's also a really good actor. Johnny Cash called Dwight his favorite modern country artist. He must have said that in the 80s.
I feel like Clint Black is so underrated- I grew up listening to 90s country and I think he was one of the best male vocalists in that genre. I highly recommend "Like the Rain", "We Tell Ourselves", "When My Ship Comes In," "A Good Run of Bad Luck", and especially a duet he did with Wynonna "A Bad Goodbye", and his cover of Desperado is my favorite version of that song.
That particular era 1989-1991 was a great time in country music. Great singers that sang real country. You have to check out Alan Jackson if you haven't done so.
I've always been more of a rock guy, but Clint Black has always been one of my favorites. I met him once at a concert. I worked at a newspaper and was sent to cover Clint Black when he did a show for Soldiers at a military base. A couple of things took me by surprise about him. He was very down to earth, and treated everyone with a ton of respect, Keep in mind, I was not just there for the meet and greet, I was with him nearly the whole day. He, and the whole band were great. Oh, and he is one of the funniest people I've ever met!
Must listen is his duet with his wife Lisa Hartman Black. She is an actress who did several films in the 80s such as Where the boys are 84, Dazzle, and exchange student. She was also on several tv shows such as Knots Landing, Matlock, and Tabitha. They married in 1991. She sings also but was never as popular for it as she was for her acting. There voices blend so well together in this song.
Wichita Lineman It was first recorded by the American country music artist Glen Campbell with backing from members of The Wrecking Crew Recorded: May 27, 1968, August 14, 1968
Clint's song Better Man, is my favorite one.❤ Listening to you 2 talking, reminds me of when I worked in a sm town Bar-B-Q and bar. We had one round table that some of the old timers would sit and play dominos ALL day❤❤
A few years later Clint Black released a song that was sort of a rebuttal to this song. "No Time to Kill" is a phenomenal song with a great message. Amber, I think you will really enjoy it for its country sound and its great message. Oh, and just FYI, Kenny Loggins sings backup vocals on it.
Two things to know about Clint Black are that many of his songs and lyrics are very cerebral. Sure, he has songs about drinking, relationships, etc. but he also has very thought-provoking lyrics and topics (such as with We Tell Ourselves) that aren't always easy to figure out the first time you hear them. The other thing is simply that he's a very clever song-writer and uses a lot of puns and wordplay, which I personally love.
Clint is mostly 90s country but extremely good. I'd suggest his songs "When I Said I Do" "Good Run of Bad Luck" For 80s country consider: John Anderson-- "Chunk of Coal" John Conlee --"Busted" Oak Ridge Boys --"Ozark Mountain Jubilee" Great reaction and love to see Clint making it onto your channel.
Clint Black “State of Mind” Studio Version has a killer Harmonica & Drum intro, great lyrics to on how music affects alls of us in many ways and can stir up memories.
Congratulations on FINALLY completing all the artists of the "Class of '89"... You have now done all 5 of them... Garth Brooks, Allen Jackson, Travis Tritt, and Mary Chapin Carpenter were the other 4 that kicked in the '90s decade... Most artists that entered country music in the '90s were based on the mold of at LEAST one, if not more, of the artists that made up the "Class of '89"... That is how influential they were in the '90s... BTW, Jay... Clint Black plays the HARMONICA too.... Check out his skills in his song, "Put Yourself In My Shoes"... If you want some Glen Campbell, How about a Duet he did in the 80"s with fellow Hall of Famer Mel Tillis (Mel actually sang lead with Glen backing him up) called "Slow Nights"... You have not done Mel your channel yet, BUT.... You have reacted to his daughter, Pam Tillis, and her hit song "Maybe It Was Memphis"... Mel, DESPITE having a stuttering problem when he spoke, still had an incredible singing voice, with no stutter... In fact, sometimes when he would get tongue tied, he would often resort to singing to get his point across... Incredible, and prolific song writer too... Countless artists have had success with Mel's songs... Take, for example, his hit song "Ruby"... It was a hit for both Waylon Jennings AND Kenny Rogers before Mel even recorded the song himself... The song can be easily found on RUclips for all three artists... Also, did I mention Mel had a great CROONER voice as well... He also won CMA Entertainer of the year (1976), beating out the likes of Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, Ronnie Milsap, and Willie Nelson for the honor...
Another country singer with a similar background is Chris LeDoux, who really emphasized his cowboy experience in his music. He had some great ones like "This Cowboy's Hat", "Silence on the Line", and "What You Gonna Do With a Cowboy?" with Garth Brooks.
Perhaps the quintessential 80s country singer is Randy Travis, who led an entire movement that defined the decade until Garth Brooks and a few others came along circa 1989 to bring back some pop influences. You've done at least one of his, but there's a ton waiting for you. Also, how about more Keith Whitley? Maybe the best male country voice of the decade? Those are the two I think of when someone mentions 80s country.
Thanks for posting. You can't go wrong with Clint Black. I hope you dive more into his songs. I had a chance to meet him when he first started out, he is a really good guy.
Speaking of Glenn Campbell. He died from “Alzheimer’s disease”. His last song was about that “I’m not going to miss you” It is a very powerful and moving song. It is as powerful as Johnny Cash’s “HURT”
I was really looking forward to introducing y'all to my neighbor, Clint Black. He and I are the same age and he is from Katy, Texas where I reside now. He's among those south Texas cowboys who came along shortly after George Strait. Black writes very interesting and relatable songs. Other singers that came along him include Garth Brooks, Tony Keith and Alan Jackson, all of whom y'all know. Y'all may not know another on this list, from Beaumont, Texas, Mark Chesnutt who has some fun and, like Jackson, heartfelt songs.
Saw Clint Black in the early 90s, Aaron Tippin opened for him. Two country songs I love from that era are Sammy Kershaw "Don't Go Near the Water" & Hal Ketchum "Past the Point of Rescue" 💕💕
I always loved his “happy eyes” - had such a crush on him when he first started; love his voice and his songs…. Oh, and if you love the twang - Check out John Anderson’s Swingin’, released in 1982 - SO GOOD.
This album came out about the time I was dealing with a relationship transition. Clint was/is vastly underrated in my opinion. At one point, this was my theme song. Peace,, Love!!
Surprising story about this song. I was 30 when this song came out and not much into country, more into pop/rock. My mom was into country, and would listen to country stations on the radio. The only country songs I had heard and liked were crossover hits in the 70's & 80's (Behind closed doors, Islands in the stream, etc.). But when I heard this song, it hit deep inside and I bought the single and listened to it many times. Not sure what it was, maybe brought up past-life feelings. But there was something about the song that felt so right.
Clint is amazing! Some of my favoritea Clint Black and his wife Lisa Hartman-Black "When I Said I Do" - I know you'll feel this one Clint Black and Steve Wariner "Been There"
He was an early part of the 90's country music shift I guess you would say, when country music popularity sore, of course Garth Brooks was at the top for the most part but lots of other great artists, like Clint was there too...Joe Diffie, Mark Chestnut, Clay Walker, Tracy Lawrence
Clint Black is one of the best! And who can resist that twinkle in his eye? Anything from his "D'lectrified" album is worth checking out. And great suggestions below as well! You guys are so fun. I enjoy tuning in each day to watch you giving the people what they want!
Back in the 2000's I had an iPod with over 1000 songs, and #1 on the "Most Played" list was Clint Black and Wynonna Judd's "A Bad Goodbye." He has dozens of hit songs, so finding another hit by him will be easy. "A Bad Goodbye" is a beautiful, sad ballad about not wanting to leave someone on bad terms. "Like the Rain" is a more upbeat with soaring vocals and driving a drum beat. "Something That We Do" is a gorgeous acoustic ode to his wife, filled with inspiring lyrics about love and being a couple.
I know its pretty much fall already, but "Summers Comin'" by Clint Black is a great song. I saw him in concert back around 2010 and the guy was amazing!! Incredible live performance, not only can he sing and play guitar perfectly, he's super funny to boot. He could be a stand up comedian and very successful at that but music just worked out first for him I guess lol.
So many great songs, A Good run of Bad Luck, State of Mind (so good), Put Yourself In My Shoes, A Better Man, A Good Run of Bad Luck , and the vocals on Burn One Down... Many more too. Great guy too, all class.
There's a country song that I had forgotten about until I heard it again the other day. It 's a really good story song. It was written by John Greener but was sang by his wife Kathy Matter who is a good country singer. The name of the song is Where Have You Been. It's about John's grandmother who was in the hospital very sick. You'll have to listen to the song to see how it ends. I don't want to give it away.
I know I mentioned Kathy Mattea's "Where've You Been" to them in an email once, in a list of the country songs that always make me cry. The others were "Love, Me" by Collin Raye and both "Don't Take the Girl" and "One of These Days" by Tim McGraw.
Clint was huge in the 90s! Saw him at the Cow Palace .... great show! And I was just remembering...he had a cameo in the movie Maverick, which starred Mel Gibson.
How about doing some Tracey Lawrence? He's country, got the "twangey" voice and has some awesome music!!!! Sticks and Stones, Find Out Who Your Friends Are, Paint Me A Birmingham...sooo many others!!!
He has a lot of great songs. He bust out of the gate and was even bigger than Garth at first. 5 #1 singles off debut album. The entire album - killin time is worth the listen
Check out Clint Black's A Better Man. This was his first huge hit that really made his career take off. Also the movie Maverick with Mel Gibson would be a great reaction. Clint Black had a small part acting in the movie. Love you guys! Watch all your videos.

Rhinestone Cowboy recorded by American country music singer Glen Campbell. Recorded: February 24-March 19, 1975 Genre: Country, soft rock, symphonic pop
I disliked country music until I heard him performing at the Universal Amphitheater while providing law enforcement protection. I became a fan after hearing Clint.
For a period of about 5 or 6 years, nobody in Country Music was bigger than Clint. I love this song, and another favorite of mine is "Like the Rain."

He was an early part of the 90's country music shift I guess you would say, when country music popularity sore, of course Garth Brooks was at the top for the most part but lots of other great artists, like Clint was there too...Joe Diffie, Mark Chestnut, Clay Walker, Tracy Lawrence
A friend loved Clint Black because of his "smilin' eyes".
No time to kill is another great Clint Black song with a really fast tempo.
Later he did a song called "No Time To Kill"
One video you should watch is "Hold On Partner" - a duet with Roy Rogers.
‼️ FINALLY‼️🤩.I L❤️VE Clint Black & I tried to wear out this album‼️💞
I don't think it was ever a hit but one of my favorite Clint Black songs was "The Lights are On, but Nobody's Home."
Nobody's Home was a Billboard #1 hit!
Clint started out playing rock n roll. His brother Brian still plays the local bars here in Katy, Tx from time to time.
So many great songs, A Good run of Bad Luck, State of Mind (so good), Put Yourself In My Shoes, A Better Man, A Good Run of Bad Luck , and the vocals on Burn One Down... Many more too. Great guy too, all class.
And "No Time To Kill" is another great song by Clint. It's sort of a "sequel" to "KIlling Time".
@@user-tj7sl2ht4b That's a great song, love the lyrics .
I finally got to see Clint live about 5 years ago and he puts on a great show! The voice really holds up in live performance.
CLASSIC SONG!!! One of my personal favorites.
Love Put Yourself In My Shoes. He and his wife Lisa Hartman Black were the love doves on The Masked Singer a couple of years ago.
I don't mean to be a perfectionist here... but for searching purposes, her name is Kathy Mattea...
Another good one...with a little bit of humor is put yourself in my shoes. You'll love the harmonica in that one.
I’ve seen him in concert- it’s a really good show
How about doing some Tracey Lawrence? He's country, got the "twangey" voice and has some awesome music!!!! Sticks and Stones, Find Out Who Your Friends Are, Paint Me A Birmingham...sooo many others!!!
Best song he ever did.
He has a lot of great songs. He bust out of the gate and was even bigger than Garth at first. 5 #1 singles off debut album. The entire album - killin time is worth the listen
"Something That We Do", and "The Shoes You're Wearing" are Clint Black classics...
Check out Clint Black's A Better Man. This was his first huge hit that really made his career take off. Also the movie Maverick with Mel Gibson would be a great reaction. Clint Black had a small part acting in the movie. Love you guys! Watch all your videos.
One of the most underrated of his generation
Here is some more great songs from Clint Black

Rhinestone Cowboy
recorded by American country music singer Glen Campbell.
Recorded: February 24-March 19, 1975
Genre: Country, soft rock, symphonic pop
I disliked country music until I heard him performing at the Universal Amphitheater while providing law enforcement protection. I became a fan after hearing Clint.
Love me some Clint Black! Back in the 90's he was right behind the likes of George Straight and Alan Jackson, some pretty darn good company!
