Such wonderful scenery. Never appreciated the history of Newton Beach. I spent many happy hours as a youngster on that beach and fishing at Newton Point .Thank you for another interesting video.
Thank's for another great stroll evoking memories of time's spent as kids sledging on the Dipper, wandering across the dunes, and then as as adult sitting atop the ridge(opposite the valley up Norton)reading a book, sandwiches and a flask beside me,or walking to Newton across the dunes/along the beach for a pie and a pint before heading back to Bridgend on the bus,I may live in Stuttgart these day's but for those few minutes watching your videos I'm back wandering around the area's that have been a big part of making me who I am today.....and I'm looking forward to enjoying fish and chips sat in Griffin Park when we do get to come over....not when there's snow in the air though, fair play to you both I'd not have wanted to do that.
Merthyr Mawr is pretty much the same as you remember, maybe more trees. We were in Griffin Park yesterday having another bag of chips. Unfortunately, all the pubs are still shut so we all you have to wait a bit for a drink in the beer garden.
Lovely film, thanks. You clearly put a huge amount of work into your films, it’s easy to take a video for granted but as a novice filmmaker myself I’m realising just how much effort is required to produce a top quality documentary like this. Thanks for sharing.
@@flydriveexplore clearly you do love what you’re doing. I have discovered that I’m loving the process also, it’s a steep learning curve and I’m loving the challenge of all aspects from filming itself to all of the technical challenges. Again thanks for sharing, you are an inspiration
Just wanted to send you a massive thank you for all the videos you are producing. My 82 yr old mother is losing from Nottage and has lived abroad for over 60+ yrs, is losing her memory and is desperate to come back one last time for the past couple of years, but due to the extreme Covi19 restrictions the Welsh parliament enacted she has been unable to do so, and may not make it. Finding your videos has been a massive gift for her, she cannot believe she can now take a trip down Moore Lane and to Rest Bay etc with you from her hom ein Colombia :D A million thanks and hope to bump into you one day soon on Main Street. God bless!
Thanks for the kind comments and we're glad you and your mother have found our videos interesting and brought back memories. We work in travel and usually do videos from around the world. It has only been since lockdown that we've started doing these local videos and we've been surprised at the comments from around the world. Thanks again for watching Marcus& Mel.
Great video Marcus 👍. I take a walk from Porthcawl to Ogmore river most days. I really enjoy your video’s as I always learn from you 👍. Your footage of the rifle range shocked me, the last time I was there was about 30 years ago and there were no trees or bushes growing there at all.
Lived in pembs for 7 years ,did plenty of trips east to porthcawl, a little hidden gem. I think a lot tourists just see port talbot and assume it's all the same ..
Great Marcus, your superb extensive shots capture the essence of the place? I never knew it was so large an area (never ever looked at a map of it?) and the only time I went through it was when I stayed at a Trecco Caravan and went to visit my gran (on my fathers side) she was in "happy valley caravan park" which you (I think) called "Wig Fach", but it was a very long time ago.
Credit were credit is due Marcus, your honing in on your cinematography and videography skills. It won't be long until Anthony from Downwoodfilms will be knocking on your door. A coloboration of like minded individulas coming together and do something great for the Town is long overdue.

Great Video, really interesting 👍👍

Another fine film thanks Marcus
Thanks for watching
Another great walk with perfect atmospheric music.
Reminds me that I never appreciated living in Porthcawl.
Damn.
Thanks. Same here, it wasn't until lockdown that I really appreciated the area.
@@flydriveexplore Always the way.
Really enjoy your videos. Great to show the kids to educate & appreciate our local area.

Thanks, yes the remains of the rifle range near Wig Fach are quite hard to find now.
Excellent - many thanks for posting!

Thanks, it's quite hard to do the filming when you are actually doing the walk as well. Only on a few occasions, I go back for extra shots.
