We are off to Wales tomorrow from southern,England, and, because of you video, we will be going to see Herbert’s Quarry on our way up to Dolgamedd in Snowdonia
@@flydriveexplore Hi, I’ve just seen your reply. Yes we had great weather, a bit chilly in the evening camping but beautiful clear views on our journey. On the way up we stopped at Herbert’s Quarry for a short time and we’re going to explore a bit more on the way home. However, as you said, the weather can change, and it did! You couldn’t see anything when we went there again on the way home. 5mph driving through the clouds…Definitely worth a longer visit next time.
Very interesting as always.Lime is used a lot in farming and steel making. The name Herbert crops up quite a bit in Welsh history.Digestive biscuits, what no fish and chips.
Enjoyed this tranquil walk with you. Sounds like a very dangerous industry. Haha Las Vegas is one of our family's favorites too. My kids are currently begging for a Vegas trip.
It's very tranquil but in the winter it must have been a hard place to work. Hopefully, we will be able to fly to the US and Vegas at some point in the not too distant future.
Great Video as always . Brilliant 👍👍 Fascinating History of this area which I had no idea of and we drove past the site on the way to Llangadog without even realising it existed. I think we were distracted by the stunning scenery. 😃 Thanks for posting 👍👍👍😃
Love your videos especially this one I don’t live very for from the black mountain and we go up there very often especially on nice days for the views. Not far from those quarries are some Bronze Age grave mounds maybe you could do a video on the,
Sad Story about Dai Twice. The rest, beautiful. If there's one thing I love about Wales it's Bleak is Beautiful. To quote an old acquaintance, 'Magnificent Desolation'.
What a fascinating yet forlorn place. I will certainly be making a visit to this wonderful area - I am amazed at just how deliciously devoid of people it is - which suits me down to the ground. As far as I am concerned, Hell is other people.
It was quiet but it was a weekday. Not sure how busy it gets at the weekend but if you go early it should be quiet and there's plenty of countryside to get away from anybody.
Lovely video. This is an area I wanted to explore when I went to Wales. I don't know if or when I'll ever get there, but it is so nice to see this part of it.
The Brecon Beacons are really interesting form villages and market towns to rugged moors and mountains. Well worth a trip and it's only a short drive from the coast.
Recent subscriber man love you’re stuff and you’re way of editting I’ve been in a really bad rut with my channel and editting style and it shows with my views you’ve given me some ideas on how I can improve my stuff
Travelling further now at least you are getting further afield more freedom nice drive chocolate digestives I like but troublesome they melt when warmer but ok with recent chill enjoyed a whole packet of digestives the weekend with some baby bell cheeses in a net when out in gower man can’t live on bread alone

Looks like you are going to have a great week for weather - sunny and dry (Although Snowdonia can do anything at anytime)

I was in the car park Sunday morning at sunrise, and it was probably one of the most incredible sights I've ever seen.
It must be especially at dawn over the mountains on a clear day.

I live on the black mountain pass and trust me, weekends are NOT tranquil lol. I wouldn't live anywhere else though. That's for sure.

Yep, it good to travel again, although not that far. BabyBel, what about good old fashioned Dairylea triangles?

Don't worry Mel's still around, she's been busy working while I've been out and about.
Was that area ever forested?
It may have been but it would have been a very long time ago. During the bronze age and into the iron age much of the area was cleared for grazing.
