    I have all brands and i have to say cerax 1k, ouka3k, rika5k and junpaku8k are simply the best stones there are.. Very organic feel and amazing feedback.. But Chosera 400,800,1k, 3k are also pleasure to sharpen on😉

      All amazing stones. This little guy impressed me though. I wasn’t expecting such a small stone to work as quick as it did. I still use it and am still impressed with it.

      @@pushchopjapan797 Cerax 6k leaves a finish like the Chosera 3k, but cutz much faster. The best Choseras are the grinding stones imo. 400 chosera is really good Even if 320 Sp OR 500 SG are nice too. The Cerax stones because they are soakers cut much much faster than the splash and go stuff. The finish isn't the same tho. Something like 400 chosera, 6k cerax, 12k super stone would be an amazing set up. That 12k super stone blows me away more and more. It's cuts very very well and the finish is actually closer to 30k. It's a half micron stone. It's the best strop replacement stone for sure. Anyway, great stone. 6x xerax I love it too, for a finer sharpening stone. It's not a finishing stone. It's similar to like 2k shapton pro or the 2 to 4 k glass, or the 2 to 3k chosera. I think. probably closer to 3k chosera.

    hey, good video. Which is better - this or naniwa multi stone ? And is naniwa multi stone 1000/3000 grit overall good ? Its cheaper since its made in Vietnam but quality control in still in naniwa hands.
    Also after you finnish sharpening knife with whetstones it is good to finnish with leather strop or stones are enough ?

      I found that the Naniwa and Suehiro are too close to tell as far as quality, pretty sure I need to do another video to compare. I started with a very dull knife on both and was surprised with how quick it brought back the bevel. I personally like to use the leather strop after every sharpening, no matter how good I do on the stone a light touch on the leather always seems to make it just a bit more crisp.

      Hi, I use naniwa 1000/3000 grit and suehiro 1000/3000 grit. Naniwa is much harder stone and work slowly, but it works on soft steel (hrc55-58). Suehiro is more softer stone and with harder steel (hrc59-62) works faster. Both are good choice!

    • @rk-jc9se
      @rk-jc9se 3 года назад +2

      Naniwa multistone is good but small. It often delivers with chips on it and chips easily if you run the knife on the edge incorrectly. The Suehiro feels more luxurious/soft and has more real estate. Better stone overall.

    Ive heard the suehiro rika 5000 is amazing. Do you know how this suehiro 6000 is compared to it?

    • @pushchopjapan797
      @pushchopjapan797  2 года назад +1

      Hi Loana, I have not yet used the 6000, the Rika 5000 really blew me away with how much feedback it gives off for that grit range, gritty feel but very smooth, I would def recommend.

      @@pushchopjapan797 wait.. so I just realized it's you the RUclipsr, owner of the video who replied. ( I thought it was someone else) .. So then, sorry, but your answer isn't making sense..? 🤷‍♀️. You say you have never used the suehiro 6000, but that's literally what this video is about no? Suehiro 1000/6000.. No??

      @@Emivioricomex Hi and yes I am sorry. I should have made my answer a lot more clear. I have obviously used the 1000/6000 combo stone but as a professional I would not compare a single grit to an economical combo stone. These combo stones are great but they do feel different to me and I’m not sure if it’s their smaller size but it wouldn’t be a fair comparison in my opinion, single grit vs smaller combo stone. I sharpen professionally and have tried using a combo stone but only a couple times as the single grits I use are larger and to be fair I am more comfortable using a single grit stone on the job. For at home use they will be great as you won’t be dealing with pro chef knives that are abused all day. At home, 3-4 minutes of soak and 5-10 to touch up your blade they are fantastic. To answer your original question, the 6000 side of the combo leaves a great finish but does not have the feel of the Rika5000, I would use the Rika5000 any day as opposed to any other stone in the same grit range. The Rika5000 has not yet disappointed me on any blade and of any type of steel. If and when I do get a suehiro6000 stone I will make sure to post a video comparing the two. Thank you for the convo and for keeping me honest. Anything else please reach out. Thanks again Loana.

      You havent got the correct angle on the edge i guess. You also need to get a burr on all the blade side before beginning to sharpen the other side. then go threw all blade on that side and get a burr then its lined up then take away the burr and he show how but already here it should be sharp. Also a beginner and only sharpen some days but i got i sharped on some knifes. But most important is to get correct angle and feel it and consistent hold it to get good results.

    • @MMMmyshawarma
      @MMMmyshawarma Год назад

      How dull was your knife to begin with? If it's very dull like a butter knife, it's too fine to start with and will take a very long time to sharpen. You may need to go lower. Or your angle is totally wrong. You need to be more descriptive.
