Two years late, but perhaps it's: - The lack of a rhythm guitar making it feel empty and the bass filling in with extra meat. - The actual live audio was fine but someone failed at mixing it for the video.

@@charleslarson5983 I believe the situation is that he's still a member of TFOT, but doesn't tour with them because it's too stressful.
