Kerry - She brings the rocky side to elphie. Not my favourite in terms of acting quality but I love how she plays her with the ferocity and the fragility at the same time. Alexia - She was a really different elphie. Gotta love her bringing some of the R&B side. Honestly, I think her NGD is on an entirely different level to her DG, she just plays the role so manically and UGGHHHH I love it Rachel - As a performer, I’d say she has the most ‘star’ thing going on. Her acting in the role is amazing and I love her Altoish voice. She was also really adorable as Act 1 elphie. Louise - Her elphie was so intense and underappreciated. She killed it with her more mature voice and I love the look in her eyes when she sings DG.
The tiny Tuckman moment at 2:47 made me smile. :) When you see them like this next to each other it's clear how stupid it is to say that one is 'better' or 'weaker' than the others. They're all completely different and so, SO strong. Obviously people may have preferences but each one of them is a force to be reckoned with. Brilliant performance.
Theyre all firsts Kerry - first british actress to play elphie on west end and broadway Alexia- First black elphie ever Rachel - first Irish elphie ever Louise - first actress to play elphie and glinda
What a fantastic experience to share the stage with Kerry Ellis and Brian May that night! They were simply amazing! Backing strings provided by the Bergersen Quartet. (arr. by Craig Adams)
what a beautiful performance a tear jerkier for sure. These 4 girls are not only beautiful but their voices together ohm so powerful sends shivers down my spine
Brilliant recording and an amazing night!!! Was so wonderful seeing such talent share the one stage. Was fascinating though seeing all 4 together. Rachel really did shine amongst stars:)
Amazing!!!!! :) never got to see kerry as elphie but all four of them are brilliant in their own way but Rachel still remains as my favourite. Alexia was my first elphie so shes special to me in that way and I just saw louise as Elphie just over a week ago as a early birthday pressie and i'd been wanting to watch her as elphaba for ages. :)
Actually, saycon senblogh was the first black elphie ever, she was standby on broadway (2006) . But alexia was the first black lead elphaba to ever return to wicked.
Tucker reserved herself that night because if she was to go full pelt as normal she would have stole Kerry's thunder. They all sounded great though. Kerry and Rachel stole it for me!
This really shows how Kerry and Rachel are in a completely different league to Alexia and Louise! No disrespect to either Alexia or Louise, but I just dont feel that their voices are strong enough for this song. Alexia's voice seems a little bit whiny to me, but then again that's just my opinion and Louise just seems to struggle with this song (and lets face it, there's not many people who can pull it off really well! I know I can't)
I disagree, I find that Kerry changes melodies WAY too much and in places that it doesn't make sense. Rachel does the odd riff here and there but where it's flattering to the tune and story.
It was geat last nice!i really thin that kerry doesn't get enough recognision for how amazing she is, she is just so versatile. She sang so many different songs so well! It doesn't translate well on video :(
How on earth can you compare Eden Espinosa to Rachel in terms of 'riffing'? The whole point of a riff is to add vibrancy to a note and it generally comes from a natural ability to sing and should never sound forced. There have been too many previous Elphaba's who go way over the top (like Eden Espinosa) & end up destroying the original score. Rachels voice is incredible and riff are with ease when appropriate. She's one of the few Westend performers who acts as well as she sings. Rant over lol:)
unidan82 Yeah Alexia Khadime didn't put as much emotion this time as with her other performances. Her riff was in no way as powerful as the other times
Lou Lee, I wasn't comparing Eden and Rachel's riffs, they are both SO different in term of singing techniques. I was just quoting Eden as an example of famous "riffing" Elphies. Rachel was consistent through her whole run, that's for sure, but without any offense to her, I found that she was riffing most of the songs that it became inappropriate in the end, and her acting was just okay for me. You can disagree but that's my point ;) Otherwise, I never denied she was a good singer.
unidan82, as I mentioned, the reason why I love Kerry is her voice : a mesmering raw force of nature (so powerful and clear by the same time). But when it comes to Elphaba, I feel like Louise's portrayal is definitely the best. I'm not a fan of riffy actresses in general (Eden Espinosa has a great acting but I couldn't stand her singing because of that) that's why I'm not a fan of Rachel. Elphie is all about power. Occasional riffs are refreshing, but too much riffs are annoying.
I've never been a fan of Rachel, she is too riffy and it distracts me more than all. I understand why people love her though. My personal preference goes to Kerry for her unique gorgeous powerful effortless voice, but I must say I do prefer Louise's Elphie because she has such an insane large beautiful colorful vocal range that fits the character so well (plus an incredible acting) And why so much hate on Alexia ? She is definitely not my favourite but she is wonderful performer.

I LOVE Rachel Tucker!!

And that last note...WOW
What an evening. I only bought a ticket on the night. So glad I got there.
didnt realise how different our 4 lead elphabas have been until i seen this 4 amazing ladies
Excuse me for a minute, while MY MIND BLOWS! This is amazing!
what a beautiful performance a tear jerkier for sure. These 4 girls are not only beautiful but their voices together ohm so powerful sends shivers down my spine

If I only knew I would've swam to the UK!!! Damn! This is just brilliant!! Tuckman reunion is priceless!!!

absolutely amazing night so glad i went !!!!
get in their tucker! Rachel always channels her inner elphaba, definitely the best!
Eargastic indeed! I'm totally in LOVE! What a special performance....
Actually, saycon senblogh was the first black elphie ever, she was standby on broadway (2006) . But alexia was the first black lead elphaba to ever return to wicked.
TUCKMAN FOREVER
This is INSANE!!!! If i could swear i would!
this is like what ive been dreaming about for like years
phenomenal
So sensational!
She did return. She did June-Nov 2008 whilst Kerry was on Broadway, then took over from Kerry permanently May 09.
Tuckman oh how we've missed you♡
it doesn't get much better than this :D Loved the ending!!!! I was almost expecting some simultaneous 'look growl' aha
Wow!
I love this SO much
Rachel “Queen” Tucker and Kerry Ellis sing good together
Rachel and Alexia are my faves... XD
Id kinda really love Kerry to come back to Wicked. I think she has matured alot would be amazng.
It seems like you got your wish!
she filled in for kerry when she was on broadway, and then took over after kerry left wicked for good,
I agree with D Tully..
TUCKMAN HELL YEAH!! sorry. Love all of them but still its Tuckman again
Eargasm...
Tucker reserved herself that night because if she was to go full pelt as normal she would have stole Kerry's thunder. They all sounded great though. Kerry and Rachel stole it for me!
Rachel would be 10 if she was allowed to growl ;)
Idina should have been there.....
must be so weird for an elphaba to hear someone else doing the song...you can see they all want to sing along with every line :P
This really shows how Kerry and Rachel are in a completely different league to Alexia and Louise!

Alexia is the only Elphie I saw live and she was brilliant others sound good too :)
True - and would have ruined the sound of 4 together (eg her Lgrook growl could not be copied by Alexia or Louise, so wouldnt sound to great)

YES! - I think she thought it best not to show the others up TOO much
Alexia didn't put much emotion like in her performances
They could have done this so much better, I mean the arrangement not the voices, everyone singing in unison sounds a bit too karaoke
alexia sounds too young ughh the others all have such full voices
Kerry - 7/10
Alexia - 2/10
Rachel - 9.5/10
Louise - 8/10

I wasn't so keen on Alexia Khadime.
Shes gotten better since this performance.
sucks to be a racist like you Donald Trump supporter get a life

Oh why did they include Alexia. She sounds terrible compared to the other women. So nasal and winey. The others terrific.
