If you wear glasses and pull the front side to the first stage of the 3, you will not be able anyway to see 100% of the view. You will see around 90%. This 10% is around 30% of the pixels. I drop my fov to 75% in iRacing and can achieve amazing results like stable 120fps and super high resolution. That FOV adjustment frees the GPU by around 50% of the load.
Good idea unfortunately adjustment to the fov multiplier leaves a black box that is extraordinarily annoying. If you did not see the bars it would be great.
Yep. You can get close to this guys settings with a quest 2 before the straight edges show in the headset. It's also less problematic on the Q2 because it has a single panel so they only show on the outer edges. On the Quest 3 with dual panels you get straight edges on the inner side of the screens too which kills ocular overlap. So with Q3 you can't go beyond around 0.87, 0.87. Enough for a small performance gain, but not anywhere near the gains here. I have used these 0.87,0.87 settings in iracing for a couple of years. You don't need Oculus Tray Tool though it is helpful, as this is just changing the FOV Tangent settings in Oculus Debug Tool.
well it depends on how close you adjust your eye distance to the lenses, i feel more comfortable if lenses are a little bit further away from my eyes and then if im gonna set 0.7 value i cant see those black edges of the sreen anymore
yeah you'r right but i think its not a big problem for me, i mostly play sim racing games, it all depends on what you trying to achive, i like to lower those values to 0.7 and get extra performance to supersample my img, it worke for my taste, everybody are different :)@@Rikus1978
thanks for the video... soon I will buy the quest 3 but I am wondering if is it better to buy a cable (5 gbps but not the original) or to buy a dedicated router 6e since I can't move my router from the living room into the pc room. I will play dcs and mfs so I don't have any problem with wearing quest 3 with the cable. What do you suggest? cable looks cheaper than 100€ of router. cheers mate
Hi Alessandro! Nice, you will not regret the quest 3? you got a vr now? I would just suggest, if you are only playing flight simulators to stick with cable! All seated experiences I do with a cable!

I have 4090 and 7 950x3d. I do 120fps at 4000 x4000 pixels per eye with iRacing. Still, msfs is unplayable-40fps at much lower settings. At 1x, the resolution is terrible. It is nice for a few minutes but not playable. My conclusion is msfs is not optimized for VR.

Also your being a dick to your computer. You should be using fps limiters after testing out graphical settings, if after checking you see your new settings allow your pc to hit 72 fps from prior 50 then limit at 60 fps. Even if you were hitting 112 fps limit at 60 fps, this keeps your pc from running max potential 100% of time and reduces the strain and give more longevity. If your a desktop guy with superior cooling then your fine but if your laptop guy then yeah you NEED to use fps limiters
Yeah it works if you want to see thick black bars around your image and look through a small box.

Hi.
Question: You said to make suer to set this setting it the quest 2 and 3.
How to set the settings of the Oculus Tray tool in the quest 3 ?
Doesn't make any sense to reduce the field of view if you see black bars.
Pretty happy with the boost in FPS. Curious to hear what it did for you!
Why is it so jittery? I've seen lots of vr videos in fs2020 that runs like that
Seems like a tracking issue, it happens even with a 4090
turn the freelook setting all to the minimum setting
@@Deltaexe190 if you see this question, where do you find the freelook settings?

It does IMPROVE FPS but unless you wanna play MINECRAFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR stay away from this. It's all about taste Thanks though.

The Rabbit works for the police.
pls help me the openxr not working to me how can I fix it???
does this work for AMD cards? I have RX 6800 XT
How does this integrate with steam vr or does it replace it?
Can this somehow help with getting text sharper in the cockpit? quest 2 headset
Yeah it does! By lowering the FOV Multiplier you could perhaps increase the sharpness in the game settings.
a question... before open OTT then save setting and then open flight simulator? is it right?
Thanks a lot. That red rabbit is a nice catch. havent tried it yet with FS but with dcs it works good. How to show fps in game?
And like dcs. You play FS via virtual desktop and then steam?
Any chance I can do this with Oculus Rift CV1?

How do I change it in Ctrl + F2? I can't with my mouse nor controller
