  • With planting completed, Matt, Andy, and Kelly have a lot of things to get caught up on. First Matt and Andy do some repairing and modifications to the planter, Kelly and Andy get to spraying and fertilizing corn, chicken litter gets hauled in, and the bushhog starts getting an overhaul.

    Those Bush hogs are ridiculous. Had a neighbor lose one in a barn fire last year, and a 15’ John Deere was $35k

    Thanks for the video again Matt, Kelly, Andy. Really enjoyed it, I learn a lot. I too wish to thank you for being a farmer, am terribly concerned with the amount of farmers like you dropping out of the trade. I probably won't be around to see the aftermath, but I have grandchildren to give me concern.

    Love the videos Matt. The main attraction for me is that I can always count on learning at least something from each one. It's been about forty plus years since I was a young farm employee. Your videos prove that to succeed you cannot stop learning new technologies and practices. On more than one occasion in your videos you have expressed your concerns over herbicide volatization and your refusal to use certain ones like dicamba etc. When I was young we always heard of the horrors that 2-4-D could bring on a cotton crop. Once we were the victim of a careless airial applicator and a contaminated spray tank inadequately cleaned. I need your advice. From a landowner/homeowner respect should I be concerned with 2-4-D volization from application on my lawn even though I'm surrounded by my farmer's soybean crop? Thanks in advance. Your thoughts are highly valued.

      You should be concerned but soybeans are not as sensitive to 2-4/D as cotton is. Just like cotton is not as sensitive to dicamba as soybeans are. MSMA would probably be your best option

    Been hearing good things about streambar sidedress. Been seeing farmers put a humic acid with the nitrogen. Supposedly it naturally stabilize the N and helps with the leaf burn. Yall have any experience?

    Good Sunday evening Matt , I wanted to ask yesterday during the Q&A . If you were to purchase a new or new to you tractor, would you get something similar to the one you used when you ripped around the edge of your fields or something bigger? Just curious, l hope you and Kelly and Andy have a safe and blessed week.

    Can you explain the mechanics of how that chicken litter trailer unloads itself? I assumed dump trailers or walking floors but that didn't unload like a walking floor.

      @griggsfarmsllc  27 дней назад +1

      It's got a chain with rubber flaps that run along the floor

    Can you vary the application rate from side to side or is it just the entire boom ebbs and flows as a whole?

    • @griggsfarmsllc
      @griggsfarmsllc  27 дней назад

      It’s just one rate across the whole boom
