Great stuff, Ping! Nick Wey is a stud - Hardworking, super cool, and very entertaining. I was a kid at the Mpls SX when he got second on the 125.

Ping, the observation about Champions and their shared commonality of coming from solid homes is profound. I think you're right in that it cannot be coincidental. You mentioned it in the Stanton episode too, so greatful for your insight. Keep up your great work my friend!

Interesting hearing him talk about the struggles and struggles on the 125. I vividly remember in Michigan when he moved up to the 125 from the 80 and watching him ride that 125 was mind blowing, bike was just screaming all the way around the track.

1994 there was an outfit series at Redbud and the winner got a set of MSR gear. I was leading that series in the 80A class the entire year and the last race of the series was the night before the pro race July 4th. Nick showed up that night and they gave double points and the points were based on the amount of riders, so with the biggest race of the year and double points he ended up beating me for the set of gear he was already probably getting for free. Everyone knew they were racing for 2nd when Nick showed up..lifelong fan. Wish he would have gave the back story of the old man that used to come to the races with him in those days. He ended up working with Nick Adams too...no one ever really knew who he was or why he worked with the 2 faster riders from the Michigan area in that era.

I remember being at the Ohio state fair one year. Maximoff had come down to race. JD Collins passed him in practice. When Maximoff got back to the camper his dad was raising all kinds of hell. I remember them going into the RV. The RV was rocking and his dad was screaming.....crazy Matt was super fast

Nick is a cool dude but one of the most PC ex racers that has ever lined up. To be fair, lol, he does will continue to have skin in the game, but tell the truth dude.
Also funny how he already nipped the relocation issue in the butt by signing with TG. No need to move when your based out of Corona.
