It is kinda strange that there's so little bar banging. About the only one who does it is Anderson. But, ya gotta be close to close a guy out in a corner, and it seems anytime Jett gets by, he's gone.

What an awesome show with my Favorite rider by far !! RJ is a legend and is one of the coolest guys in our sport ! Just awesome to be able to listen to his point of view , hes a smart dude for sure !~ thanks Ping ! ~ R.I.P Scott
Damn Ricky, I would love to hang with ya!...Ill never forget your 1987 season on that badass machine...I have so many kodaks of you from Hollister Hills to Anaheim being that I grew up racing out of Santa Barbara, we were on 80s and 125s racing Transcal, Golden State Nationals, mainly LACR groms back then. Never the Less, you are exactly the same guy, almost feel like a brother when I see and hear your stories, love you all, Ping too!!!
Everything is better with RJ on it. Great show guys, I watched the first half yesterday and was late to work… watch the second half this morning and looks like I’m gonna be late to work again. But I got my priorities.😂
Really enjoyed this! As a pioneer, refreshing to hear about parking lot fights! We do need an American rebuttal to the Lawrence expression! Butt, I'm thinking Webb!?
Great show! Never listened to RJ before. Very insightful, professional and positive. Was refreshing to here him say that Jett could be beat. Apparently he’s not on on Honda’s payroll like so much of the media is.
First saw RJ in 1976 at Soutbay Speedway #117 CMC Wednesdays. He was 11 years his laps were faster than some pros. I told my friend, Jeff Grovom, "See that kid? He's gonna be a great one someday." He was special. I had only raced a handful of races. A year later, 1977, I was in the intermefiate class at South Bay and I beat all the pros. Both motos. End of summer, I was cmc pro. I got a B sponsor with Maico. It tool a few months to get up to pro speed. By summer of 78 I got fast. But, fate came to me. I won the first moto of the 250 class by a few minutes. My Dad was there. He had only come to my very first race and this one. My friend, Jeff and his brother Carl, were also there. Second moto I got the holeshot and had the entire Carlsbad Hwy lead by lap 3. But, Lao 4, I cross rutted the second downhill jump and got launched 50 feet over the bars. I looked back up the hill and saw my bike laying there in the middle of the track. Adrenaline and instinct helped me crawl up the hill, grab my bike and drag it off the side so another rider wouldn't crash on it and get hurt. I collapsed on the grass. Jeff, my Dad and Carl saw it all the way from hairpin turn where we pitted. I broke my collarbone, my jaw and cracked my neck. Most painful was my broken heart. I knew that was my last race. I knew it would take me a year to recover and maybe another year to get up to speed. But, I also saw the writing on the wall... I saw and knew that this new wave of kids like RJ were going to be the next best thing in the sport. This new generation of kids that had raced at Barona and other mini parks were so much more advanced. But, seriously...RJ was THEE reason I hung it up. He was 5 years younger with sponsors and I was a full time student, full time bike shop employee in Escondido that paid his own way. My story is not uncommon. Many guys like me out there. And, to this day, other than watching my kids be born, was the most awesome experience of my life. Thank you RJ for mentioning "Burner". I've been to most all of the Carlsbad Reunions at Booze Brothers and have had a few nice conversations with Scott. His death this past week was shocking. He had just posted a road bike ride the day before on Facebook. Godspeed to Scott and may God bless his beautiful family going forward. And, God bless you, RJ. You've become quite the ambassador to our sport. Love your honesty and sincerity. Maybe we'll see you at the next Carlsbad Reunion. It will be an awesome time to pay tribute to The Burner.
And thanks for bringing that up, I was thinking about it myself and where I work we do coronary CT angiograms every day on people, and that’s probably the best test to evaluate your heart. I turned 56 today, I don’t have any symptoms, but it may be something I need to do in the near future.
Great video Fellas! Pretty excited for the up coming season. What I would like to see is 2 different “teams” one for super-cross and one for outdoors. That way the riders can have a longer off season. I would love to see well rested/well recovered riders battling. I know it sounds crazy and will never happen.
Thank God our Moto community is way stronger than our Break Dance community. I think Jett has a point to prove this year and I believe he wants to smash everyone in all disciplines to give it to the haters. But I rekon Eli has found his groove and will be the biggest competitor to Jett with Chase and Hunta fighting for Third spot. 🇦🇺👍
Great combo of dudes just talking about racing. Always love hearing RJ talk with the insight and experience. And Ping beat Bubba, never forget. Plus he gets a couple points for the 70's stache! Go WEBB!
Enjoyed the breakdown - great format. Very excited for the 2025 season, but the competition between the top 8 for the first half of the season will be intense!! Personally I think one or two guys will try to get an early edge and win streak (Webb/Tomac/Sexton/Lawrence).
Hell yeah!!! RJ and Ping! Ohhh, a healthy Jett with 10 wins and title. I booed JMB and I was wrong! I hated the guy for no reason. One concern, VF is a bad ass but a fan walked up to him on the podium at the last race. Fans shouldn’t get near riders like that period!!! Cheer yes! Aggressor no! I hope Jett kicks their asses!

Jet is a pretty tough guy on the track,I think the rest of the 450 field will bring their a-game, path to the title won't be easy, and I don't think jet wants it to be.
Chase found an MX setting but not the quick raw speed needed in SX resulting in him riding a lil more like Dungey, because remember Dungey wasn't a diesel when he was on Suzuki

I would love to see Stewart and Carmichael in there prime on current bikes I think they would still win today imagine Stewart in 2003 on a star Yamaha when he was in the lights class
Unfortunately life doesn't work that way. Progress occurs in every thing. There will be a rider in the future whose talent at that time will be unmatched. McGrath was the greatest SX of his Era, Carmichael of his Era, Jett is the greatest of his Era.
Bikes today actually aren't any better. You would be shocked if you rode a prime bike from 20 years ago and a brand new bike the same day. More then likely you would prefer the 20 year old bike
I think R.J has it spot on with the fan base Australians v French v Americans etc etc home fans should stand behind their own riders, the issue here is because this is a solely American based series this gives the American riders a huge advantage in that regard and they will never get the "hate" international riders get. Now if this series went truly a world series and moved country to country Americans will get that same vibe as international guys get. Don't be niave here American riders are loved but Americans are also loved to be hated internationally. This is a danger season for Jett as well as the rest of the field. Has the talent to win every race, no doubt. It's going to come down to attitude if he gets in a funk he may suffer, but if he turns inwards and as we've seen becomes on occasion all business he may also just come out and destroy the competition. You don't poke the bear and all the socials do is poke the bear and that will back fire. How do you beat Jett, well you show the love you feed into his ego he then gets complacent, you don't show the hate because all that's does is motivate him and push him harder why because more than anything he wants to stick it to the man.......
RJs focus is AAA. Even when the subject migrates, he brings it back on point. As far as Jett’s falling out favor with Americans. A good part of it started with his meltdown with Anderson. Add the appearance of favoritism by the AMA in sketchy calls where his team violated a starting gate rule with two team members on his bike. But the AMA didn’t execute judgment on it. Americans don’t like biased officiating. Not Jett’s fault, but it adds fuel to those with an axe to grind. Additionally his pimp diddy style braggadoshish acquisition of a Rolls, was a far cry from the once humble guy we used to cheered for. This gets me pumped for 2025. May the best man win. RIP Burner, thanks for elevating MX sportsmanship.
I was disappointed in Jett on the helmet grab with Anderson. Then I saw a different angle and it showed Anderson grabbing Jett's helmet First. As for Jett being a 'humble guy," he was never humble, he was just fast and left alone for the most part early on. Once other riders started giving him the 'business' he gave it back. What is so bad about that?
@@HarborEdwin I think he just waved his finger right in front of Jett's chin protector, most likely touching his helmet, but I don't think he grabbed him first.
@@crf250x8 I went back again just now, and you are correct, Anderson does not grab Jett's helmet first, he pushes his hand up against the mouth guard portion of Jett's helmet, with his finger in Jett's face. Bad Jett, grabbing Anderson's helmet! That's FaceMasking in American Football! BIG PENALTY for good reason (potential neck injury) : /
Keep hoping guys...only chance of anyone (in 450's now) beating Jett for a Championship, is he gets 'bored' as RJ said, or retires. Jett been riding mostly at 80%, occasionally 90%. P.S. ET3 made 'a couple of appearances' in 2023. He attended all 4 this year and WON! ; )
Again take nothing from Jett he’s an amazing talent. But that class has many who can win. Hunter for one is amazing Eli as well. This season will be about consistency. And I do not want a dominant rider. We want a weekly battle. But if anyone of these guys say have a bike problem and DNF your done that’s to many points to come back from. I pray for a war of a season. Competitive but healthy for all.
People talking about racing barcia , never leave the inside open and check up if he’s tries to take you out , also those same people , never look back always look ahead and race what’s in front of you …. Which one is it ?
Usually it shakes out the same way- McGrath dominated for years, RC etc. guess what, the only thing stopping Jett is Jett. If they get better starts than him and rough him up that’s the only chance they have to beat him
I don't understand the burn out. Look at tomac, barica. Anderson and web. Tomac is the oldest champion and still going 3 years later because its fun for him
*#RJ** says we need an American Hero* In 2025 all Top5 "could" be Non-Americans... *Jett Lawrence* Eli Tomac *Hunter Lawrence* Chase Sexton *Jorge Prado* Cooper Webb *Ken Roczen* Aaron Plessinger *Dylan Ferrandis* Justin Cooper Jason Anderson Malcolm Stewart
That looks good the only possibility I see it happening is outdoors and the biggest issue there is Roczen doesn't race outdoors. Don't get me wrong here I'd love to see this exact scenario happen and happen often just as a reality check to the industry to say hey there is more than one country here, it probably won't due to Ferandes lack of factory equipment in SX, Prado inexperienced and MX Roczen not racing. Bigger potential for top 3 of Lawrance Lawrance Prado late in SX season, and that combernation majority of the year in MX.
Ping said … If they had best interest of the Sport and Riders in mind…They don’t. Davey and his Crime Family, AmA , Feld , FIM. They only care about making money 💰 NOTHING else.
Rick johnson's wrist really bothered him when he raced..... ken Roczen...wrist hurt too.....dont stop him... It's not the dog in the fight... It's the fight in the dog
I sti think Jett’s the heavy favorite and will dominate, no one’s beaten him over a season yet, I think Jett wins around 10 races, Webb, Sexton, Tomac, and Hunter get 1-3 wins each
*#Eli** is America's guy & the only ones who could take the changing of the guard this year or step into that position next year are the KTM riders **#Chase** & **#AP** or maybe a **#JCoop* Theres really no other Top5 Americans with *#Anderson** & **#Webb* are on their way out... Which only leaves 250 riders & you never know how they'll make the change to the 450 even *#Degan* is going to go through a learning rookie year, so he won't be the guy until at least 2027
They keep saying everything is fine for the U.S but I don't think it's nearly as solid as they say. There's a very good chance their team folds or stops paying riders by the end of Supercross.
Bayle and Lawrence are not liked, because they are beating the American's, easily. Everyone liked Reed, Vuillemin, Musquin, because they never beat the best American riders. Reed was unliked, because he won in 2004 and then he wasn't the man anymore, it was always RC or Stewart. Ferrandis was disliked for a couple of years, because won championships.
Reed wasn't liked until late in his career. He was pretty hated from 04 until about 11. Nobody liked Marvin either. To me Marvin was the worst of all the foreign riders Also people forget Carmichael wasn't liked at first either. He was booed in Vegas. Carmichael was beating everyone's hero McGrath and they didn't like it. Tomac fans watching Jett beat tomac are the ones hating the most
HOLLY SHIT, Finally a show that gives all the riders respect and not just hanging on Jetts nuts!Yes, Jett is Great! I can't wait for 2025. I'll Call it now Sexton SX & MX CHAMP.
I get it but Jett brought it on himself. He was welcomed with opened arms here then does what they did to Anderson and Deegs. You think they would fly 24 hours to go race for free. Bad look for them and don’t feel sorry for him. I respect him but man he needs to make that right or don’t pout in an interview, saying Americans don’t like Australians that is very crappy. We have always respected Australians. People don’t like when someone gets successful and acts like their shit don’t stink. I have nothing but love for them, but you gotta have accountability. Deegs don’t go on social media crying about hate.
@carrieevans5411 I'm just stating facts. Sexton isn't the guy, and KTM is folding. He will get another ride somewhere if he needs to but it's very likely it won't be on an orange bike. He's a top guy, but he will never be the guy as long as Jett is out there.
I don’t think we can still talk about 15 guys contesting the title like I’m feeling hunter Jett Eli and chase will be the only ones able to win a race bar a massive mistake from all 4 of them
Yeah realistically 2 or 3 guys win most the races, however usually someone random snags a win, I’d put Webb in the contenders since he was the only one challenging Jett by the end of last year
Jett absolutely leaves everyone...it all about bike setup...it's phyics..suspension moving to much slows u down....Jett looks like he is riding a bicycle...tomac rides the rear real soft...almost surfing the bike..but carries serious speed into the corner..
Still curious why no one is mentioning the whole Lawrence and deegan thing before Aus X. Idk how much all of that was true but there was def something there causing tension. That to me is why Jett was salty at the media thing for SMX. I thought your comment on buying the rolls after he beats Ricky’s record and the house after MC’s was genius for keeping him motivated.
@@TroyMcGennisken The Lawrences wouldn't let the promoters pay Deegan to come there. Pretty lame. Everyone has gotten sick of the hype for the last few years on top of that, so they are hoping for Jett to get smashed. RJ wasn't making a comment about the bonuses, that's what Jett did. He meant now that Jett has everything, why would he want to push?
Ping I love you man but sorry mate. Motogp is mad. Imagine driving down the freeway at over 100mph and then jumping out of the car. Because that is what crashing a motogp bike is. Now I know its not coming up short on a 100 ft triple but rag dolling in a gravel trap at high speed is right up there with eating it in the whoops…
Not saying they aren’t gnarly… but they don’t do the laps that SX guys do and their crashes are less frequent. I don’t think moto GP guys would argue that.
14min in and RJ nails it! That's exactly how everyone needs to race Jett or anyone they want to beat.
It is kinda strange that there's so little bar banging. About the only one who does it is Anderson. But, ya gotta be close to close a guy out in a corner, and it seems anytime Jett gets by, he's gone.

Bad Jett, grabbing Anderson's helmet! That's FaceMasking in American Football! BIG PENALTY for good reason (potential neck injury) : /
I was there in Pontiac 88. What a slug fest.teeing each other up before the tunnel lol😅
I’m going to have to find it on RUclips
Pretty sure Hunter was leading the title outdoors when jett went out, not the other way around
Jet hadn't lost a race when he crashed out of outdoors.
I’m not going to A1 this year, it’s for rich folks now .. will catch the highlights
❤
@@wcz61 Jett is fastest and smoothest in the paddock. And on the most reliable bike. Try again.
@@HarborEdwinstupidity level never seems to amaze me
@@HarborEdwinand it didn’t matter one bit recently in Australia did it?
Webb is looking fit this season and is looking fast.
If they get better starts than him and rough him up that’s the only chance they have to beat him
Anderson needs to get with Rino and get that technique in check.
I was going to say Chase is too boring to be a big champion but then I remembered Ryan Dungey.
No way put a ring right in the middle where everybody can see it and then go on it. That’ll take the sport to the next level.
Ping, set you coffee cup down and relax.
think your reading too much into it. he seems relaxed to me
It's Exciting Stuff! Maybe you pick your coffee up and wake up! lol
52:26 -collapsed his lung, broke multiple ribs, broke his collarbone, and had air trapped in his chest making him unable to breathe
I don't understand the burn out. Look at tomac, barica. Anderson and web. Tomac is the oldest champion and still going 3 years later because its fun for him
He likes the grind
*#RJ** says we need an American Hero*
In 2025 all Top5 "could" be Non-Americans...
*Jett Lawrence* Eli Tomac
*Hunter Lawrence* Chase Sexton
*Jorge Prado* Cooper Webb
*Ken Roczen* Aaron Plessinger
*Dylan Ferrandis* Justin Cooper
Jason Anderson
Malcolm Stewart
That’s why he’s saying it
That looks good the only possibility I see it happening is outdoors and the biggest issue there is Roczen doesn't race outdoors.
I sti think Jett’s the heavy favorite and will dominate, no one’s beaten him over a season yet, I think Jett wins around 10 races, Webb, Sexton, Tomac, and Hunter get 1-3 wins each
Rumor mill says Deegan is racing a few select east coast rounds on the 450 ,
Not gonna happen he’s been very vocal he’s not getting on a 450
That would be a really dumb move.
@@carrieevans5411 idk that’s suppose be a thing Daytona maybe
@@seanhaberman4619 why lol
*#Eli** is America's guy & the only ones who could take the changing of the guard this year or step into that position next year are the KTM riders **#Chase** & **#AP** or maybe a **#JCoop* Theres really no other Top5 Americans with *#Anderson** & **#Webb* are on their way out...
Which only leaves 250 riders & you never know how they'll make the change to the 450 even *#Degan* is going to go through a learning rookie year, so he won't be the guy until at least 2027
The riders need a break. Period. Top guys like Eli, Jett, Chase etc are putting in Olympic level efforts. They need breaks.
Jettson 1 hrc
Since Anderson he pulled back to come from the back
Chase needs a blue bike under him to have a chance
What effect if any will KTM going into bankruptcy ,will they have the money to finish the season
From what I have heard the American part of it is safe
To me Marvin was the worst of all the foreign riders
Also people forget Carmichael wasn't liked at first either.
Sexton is looking way better on the Sx set up , he’s a champion and he is demanding for a reason ! Can’t wait for this season to start
Sexton won't win any title this year. He might not even have a ride by the end of sx with how ktm is looking.
@@seanhaberman4619 wow that’s a negative thing to say about a rider but okay , and with KTM we will see how it unfolds :)
@carrieevans5411 I'm just stating facts. Sexton isn't the guy, and KTM is folding. He will get another ride somewhere if he needs to but it's very likely it won't be on an orange bike. He's a top guy, but he will never be the guy as long as Jett is out there.
I don’t think we can still talk about 15 guys contesting the title like I’m feeling hunter Jett Eli and chase will be the only ones able to win a race bar a massive mistake from all 4 of them
Yeah realistically 2 or 3 guys win most the races, however usually someone random snags a win, I’d put Webb in the contenders since he was the only one challenging Jett by the end of last year
tomac webb jett
Jett absolutely leaves everyone...it all about bike setup...it's phyics..suspension moving to much slows u down....Jett looks like he is riding a bicycle...tomac rides the rear real soft...almost surfing the bike..but carries serious speed into the corner..
These guys talking about fighting. Jett and Hunter aren’t fighting anyone. They are badass on the track riding but They are pretty boys.
👏👏👏👏👏💯💯💯💯💯💫💫💫💫💫💥💥💥💥💥
Still curious why no one is mentioning the whole Lawrence and deegan thing before Aus X. Idk how much all of that was true but there was def something there causing tension. That to me is why Jett was salty at the media thing for SMX. I thought your comment on buying the rolls after he beats Ricky’s record and the house after MC’s was genius for keeping him motivated.
None of it was true that’s why no one is talking about it other then the deeg’s little fans
100% agree with you on Jett needing that target to keep motivated
@@TroyMcGennisken The Lawrences wouldn't let the promoters pay Deegan to come there. Pretty lame. Everyone has gotten sick of the hype for the last few years on top of that, so they are hoping for Jett to get smashed. RJ wasn't making a comment about the bonuses, that's what Jett did. He meant now that Jett has everything, why would he want to push?
@ that was a load of shit lol same as the Anderson shit…
@@deckmonkey1459 deegan only stated he wanted to go to aus 2 weeks before the event! They said he could race but had to pay his own way ya flog!
@ fair play I just know how brutal road crashes can be.
Jet is a spoiled kid....they act pouty and vindictive when they don't get their way...
