No but RC had to dethrone McGrath and go against James Stewart. I like Pastrana the guys inanely talented but Patrana wouldn’t be even remotely close to as fast a JS7. Dude was incredible on a 125 (even though he was heavier than everyone he raced)! I think he could've won on the 250/450 as well, but he would've had to gone all in on racing
These guys are going with linear projections based on recent experience. Tomac is in top form and probably more determined than anyone realizes while Jett is definitely heading for his most difficult season by far when it comes to his competition. He has relatively little experience dealing with the pack so things can and probably will go south for him. He's the one in the crosshairs and as we've seen he isn't great with adversity so he'll probably choke when making critical decisions. Of course if he holeshots every race things could turn out just fine for him but that's a tall order. People love underestimating Tomac and have been doing so for many years. Most thought it was over for him when he ditched that hydraulic clutched Kawi but I said the Yamaha was just what he needed and sure enough he put in the most consistent riding and starting of his career on that bike.
jett has already proven he can perform in high pressure environments, 450 sx title in his first season that had a lot of drama and adversity, perferct 450 outdoor season in his first season, and back 2 back smx champion even coming out of surgery, and mxon this last 2 times he has shown he is the best rider even though he didn't win the last race
Sexton mentally won't be there with all the KTM drama. He's not headstrong enough unfortunately. He's my favourite rider but too many things affect him
Jett has been beat and yet you seem to forget. Tomac came back way too early from his injury and beat Jett. Eli was over 5 seconds ahead of Jett and Jett tried to close it and wiped out twice. Several times he about killed himself in the whoops. Then Tomac was off the bike over a year comes back for SMX and beat Jett by over 5 seconds in the 1st race. The 2nd race Tomac was beating him again but started making mistakes so the last couple laps that’s how Jett get him. Mind you Tomac hasn’t raced for quite awhile and was racing himself into shape.

I think it all depends on Eli’s ability to be fastest at the end of races or just able to push all the way to the checkered.. if he’s back to that I think hands down he’s got everyone covered.. although I have my doubts only bc he’s missed out racing mx basically two years in a row and imo I think a decent amount of his fitness came from that and his ability to push all the way to the flag twice in one day for 30 minutes and just being used to pushing for 30 +2 .. in sx he’s tried to go hard for ten ish then maintain his pace until around half way and depending on postion of himself and others he’d try to pick it up basically with the idea of being able to easily maintain his pace for the last 10 minutes .. that race where Kenny’s shock busted is perfect example but in general you could clearly see last year at the end of races he typically struggled to maintain his pace let alone pick it up .. Imo Eli wants to go out on top and rightfully so bc in his head he still believes he’s the baddest dude out there right now so ya I think we might see tons of fight and grit out of Eli .. just saying .. my top pick for sure
People are forgetting that Tomac WILL NOT TAKE CHANCES at this point in his career and you MUST TAKE CHANCES to beat Jett . This means Tomac will not push it and if his best is not good enough he's perfectly OK with that . That is the # 1 reason why I believe he may come up short for the chip . Now if he was willing to push it and ride on the edge I would say he has just as good a chance to win as Jettson but he's not willing to do that .
This is the exact reason I think Tomac will win the title. Jett has been taking huge risks and has been very lucky so far, despite all the falls. I think the risk-taking will get him, and the Tomacs speed with his even keel will prevail.
On the topic of Sexton, love the guy, however some guys are a better hound than hare. Ya gotta be the hare on the last laps to win. Sexton is a better hound. He loses focus more often than not when he's leading. On the Jet topic, there's no better example of blowing off the crowd as nascar's Kyle Busch. He don't care if he is liked or not. Tomac will beat Jett. He'll win the SX title and the MX title. He also said it's his last FULL season. He might be back if gets through this season and is riding better than ever, which I think he will be, and stays 100% healthy. Then yeah, I could see him come back for SX and SMX rounds. But, no way he'll do MX again after this year.

Great question! After that Achilles injury no one thought he could come back from and get to the top again; however, now that he has, the talk of retirement seems out of touch. Tomac himself was talking retirements, so we are all living in a blender...LOL. So glad he is back and ready to elevate the entire field.

Maybe but what made RC & McGrath the best to do it. Is the ability to shine when the pressure is on. If the SMX playoffs and last SX season showed anything. It’s that when the pressure is on the kid shows up. And racing against these big names removes the excuse that Jett hasn’t beat Et3 at his best or other big name guys.

I don't understand the whole drug testing. Sexton was drug tested 7 times last year. His dad put it out on Instagram. He said 7 times he's clean. Enough is enough.
You cant go against Jett, Tomac will battle and if he gets the start he might get some wins. But Jett has the ability to reel him in and find those lines that makes him faster. If sexton struggled with bike issues 2024 SX I just don’t see him being able to focus on battling the top guys with all the company turmoil.
For the past two seasons Honda has had a major start advantage , from what transpired at wsx and Paris and Australian supercross Yamaha has found the technology . so can Jett beat Eli and cooper when he starts behind them in fifty percent of the races. I say no I think Jett does not win this year it’s a 3 way battle with Eli cooper and chase. Jett fourth.
Tomac has 100% said this is his last year, all the way through SMX. Jett has Huge Fan Base, Boo the Few This is the start of a Great season for viewers.
So Chase, Hunter, Ken, AP and Jason WILL NOT win any races in 2025. Jett will win most and Eli will pick up the pieces and thats it (remember the perfect season, he beat down the big dogs into small dogs and they lost their bark) KTM will soon collapse under Chase and he will be begging for a team and the cowboy will lose his guns - My prediction is that all these old timers will be out the game by the end of 2026 and the new boys will run the shows.

Eli, Sexton, Webb, and Jett. That's the order I think they'll finish this year. I think Jett will take himself out early in the year because he won't be able to handle the bad publicity pressure. Beast mode is back!!!

@@CoachRobbBeams I think you're absolutely right, KTM's financial situation with people getting laid off and not paid has to affect the race team, i'm sure they know people back both locations in Europe who are in a very difficult position financially with bills and no pay and especially before Christmas. If you have kids and not getting paid that's very stressful.

I agree if Lawrence Bros embrace being the Darth Vaders of the sport they will do fine even Darth Vader came back to the light. They will do better to just keep winning. The sport does need some Drama though. It is good to have it. But the only one that will beat Jett in this era and ones to come is Deegan. That is the future battle. It will be Deegan vs Australia. Good Show Cooksey keep on rocking in the REAL world! This season SHOULD be Jett, Hunter, and who cares.
Coach is wrong, chase sexton is a champion. I think triumph is looking into Chase,RC on title 24, always praises chase and then throws In some criticism, there was no criticism from RC about Chase
Doubt it, it’s not just the Jett show. You will have hunter, Prado, Sexton, Webb my guess is Tomac will sign with Ducati. But Deegan will have to battle all these guys as a rookie. With the pressure of everyone expecting him to beat Jett. All Jett has to do is continue to ride the way he has been.

In no particular order. Coop, Tomac, and Jett for top 3. But, I think they all have an = chance of winning it. Tomac is back. It's as simple as that. And, I was at the Aus X open, Coop's first moto was flawless, smooth and fast, he looked fantastic. Jett? As his dad says. "Jett does Jett things." Sexton's season is bike dependant. His bike is his disadvantage. It's a KTM, it might be good, and, it might be bad. But yr to yr, they normally go from one extreme to the other. Does he even have a decent SX setting yet? It's not like it was looking good at the end of last seasons SX events. He's in my top 3 for MX.

Maybe but what made RC & McGrath the best to do it. Is the ability to shine when the pressure is on. If the SMX playoffs and last SX season showed anything. It’s that when the pressure is on the kid shows up. And racing against these big names removes the excuse that Jett hasn’t beat Et3 at his best or other big name guys.

For the past two seasons Honda has had a major start advantage , from what transpired at wsx and Paris and Australian supercross Yamaha has found the technology . so can Jett beat Eli and cooper when he starts behind them in fifty percent of the races. I say no I think Jett does not win this year it’s a 3 way battle with Eli cooper and chase. Jett fourth.

So Chase, Hunter, Ken, AP and Jason WILL NOT win any races in 2025. Jett will win most and Eli will pick up the pieces and thats it (remember the perfect season, he beat down the big dogs into small dogs and they lost their bark) KTM will soon collapse under Chase and he will be begging for a team and the cowboy will lose his guns - My prediction is that all these old timers will be out the game by the end of 2026 and the new boys will run the shows.

Sexton's season is bike dependant. His bike is his disadvantage. It's a KTM, it might be good, and, it might be bad. But yr to yr, they normally go from one extreme to the other.
Does he even have a decent SX setting yet? It's not like it was looking good at the end of last seasons SX events.
