- Heavy rains lashed Dubai and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), causing severe flooding in different areas. Multiple videos have taken over social media showing the scary state of Dubai. One of the video shows the flooded tarmac of Dubai International Airport (DXB), one of the world’s busiest airports. Bahrain and Oman were also hit by heavy rain and flooding after being pummelled by thunder and lightning. The death toll in heavy flooding in Oman rose to 18 after a child’s body was recovered with others still missing. Watch this video for more information.

Desert flashfloods used to be more frequent and intense over the passed few millenia - so an occasional one like this can only be inevitable. It just looks worse to us because of all the human urbanized junk now in the way. The great flood story was dreamed up because of such regular events happening all over the ME thousands of years back - when Earth was warmer.
