- In this video, I'll go over some of the required required tools, as well as some of the preferred tools that I use in my day-to-day operations as a mobile notary signing agent for the mortgage industry. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list, but just a few of the main ones that I use all day every day, and even some that I don't use, but lots of other notaries do. Be on the lookout for a Blog article that goes into a little more detail on each one of these phases, and the tools that make life easier. Great tips man. I am also in AZ and getting myself started. I am heading to your websites now. Interested in your notary coach site.

I'm also in AZ, in the east valley and currently a notary looking to expand to signing agent! I will definitely be looking at your info this weekend! Would also love to connect with you! Great videos and info on here! Really appreciate all the tips you are sharing via video!
So two questions: one is that I'm struggling with a lot of questions and I'm at Phase:3 > First question: you gave an example of a loan signing where you photocopied an ID from someone. Did you just use your phone? I have "tiny scanner" on my phone. Is that photo copy for me or the contractor?title company..etc. Secondly I'm getting calls from all these signing companies who are offering me $65. or thereabouts and also asking me to do fax backs. I know this will seriously eat into whatever profit i make. I have not accepted any yet because I don't have a laser printer and am already in about $400 dollars with my training on NNA, my e & o insurance, my commission, my bond, my basic tools and my membership on NNA so i can use thier hotline. Do i take some of these jobs just so i can get some hands on experience, even though they are low balling the compensation? I'm terrified of making mistakes, and know this is too low but need to start making some kind of income. This is your BEST VIDEO, tHANKS! BelleNOtary (alabama)
Ginny Wilkerson did u get an answer to your questions? Or did u figure it out? Please share.... Thanks
Yes, these are wonderful questions. Would love love to know the results.
good information
Hi! Thanks for all the great tips! I'm just getting commissioned and doing the training. However, right now I work full-time M-F 9-5:30pm. So, in the beginning I can only take jobs in the evening or on Saturday. How do I handle that with the signing companies? Do I tell them ahead of time the hours I am available? I'm afraid if I don't and I keep getting calls for day jobs and I turn them down they will stop calling me. Trying to balance this out in the beginning until I can figure out a good time to leave my current job. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Leslie , this a great question! I'll make another video on how best to manage this
@@NotaryCoach What video did you make to address this question, please?
Quick question as a buyer here! We are looking into buying our first home hopefully within the next 2-3 months and want to use a mobile notary at our home! How would we make this possible? Thanks!
Hey there! You can absolutely request a mobile notary! Start with your real estate agent. Tell them this is important to you. Your real estate agent will likely advise you on a suggested closing agent (attorney or escrow/title company depending on your state). When you open escrow, you guys can make sure the closing agent knows that you want a mobile notary. Some real estate agents even write it into the contract! Congratulations on your first home!
Notary Coach Thank you for clearing that up for me! Happy I found your channel!
Notary Coach Hey! Back with more questions! Once we open escrow will the title company find us a mobile notary or will we be able to find our own? Still having a hard time understand exactly how all of this works. Thankful for your informative videos!
@@katieward1082 the mobile notary assignment usually is handled by your escrow officer. However, they've also been known to send you the documents and ask you to find your own notary. If that happens, I'm happy to point you in the right direction. The important thing is just to communicate your needs and wants. Start with your real estate agent and make sure he knows that wherever you open escrow, you want an assurance that you can get a mobile notary. This is often at your own expense, however escrow companies, lenders, and sometimes even real estate agents, may cover the cost of the mobile notary for you. Depending on the situation, this will likely be between $150-$250 and just billed to your transaction.
Notary Coach thanks for the fast response! You’ve been very helpful thank you!!
How much do you charge per signing, is there some type of community of notaries so we can fix out rates together?
Do you recommend getting an office space and having clients come to you?
deidreo04 , thanks for a great question! I'm not one for blanket answers, so I wouldn't say having an office space is a bad idea. There may be some circumstances where this could make sense, but for the most part, it's unnecessary. MOST of your customers are going to use your services as a MOBILE notary so they don't have to go to anyone's office in the first place. I've explored using Co-op space, but because I'm on the road so much, I still can't justify the expense. If I was going to spend the $300-$1200 a month that a small space can cost, I would likely upgrade my vehicle or invest it in marketing instead.
Notary Coach That makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much for the quick response.
Is Error & Omissions the same as a Surety Bond?
Shenita Di' , great question! No, these are two different things. Here is a VERY overly simplified explanation. The Surety Bond, which is usually required by the Secretary of State, protects the individual members of the public that you are doing a notarization for. This bond does NOT protect you, as the notary. Errors and Omissions insurance is usually required by signing companies and/or title companies. This insurance protects you, the notary, in the event you make a major mistake and have court costs and cash damages. Think of it like
Malpractice insurance. Does that help clarify?
Notary Coach Yes. I understand. Thank you!
As a surety bond agent I will mention that sometimes the surety company will include a complimentary errors and omissions policy when the bond is issued. Though generally this is for lower limits (like $25,000). From this video it sounds like this wouldn’t be adequate.
@@NotaryCoach what are some of the common mistakes new signing agents make?
what's your website? Your notary one not the coach

i live in ga and it's an attorney state so i can't get mortgages signing can i still use for other states
Michell Ratcliffe thanks for watching and posting a question! You always want to be sure to be compliant with state laws, but signing agents are used in all 50 states, including attorney states. By law, attorneys in "attorney states" are required to CLOSE mortgages. Signing agents do NOT close mortgages, we simply gather signatures. So, most closing attorneys are free to utilize the services of a signing agent, as long as it's still within the bounds of their state statutes. PS- Georgia has lots of active signing agents. I hope this helps!
Notary Coach
yrs it does, i was thinking of adding fingerprint and apostle to my list of services how do i go about doing that?
Michell Ratcliffe , always a good idea to diversify services. There are a few ways to go about fingerprinting. I know there are some companies that will sub it out to you, or you can start your own. Hardware, for the tech advanced stuff, like for pre-employment contracts, can be expensive. Some companies provide. Apostille is a whole other process, so I recommend you check with your Secretary of State, for rules on that.
ok thanks for the insite
What’s apostles? I saw it on my county site but it didn’t describe.
Thank you
