Lydie Solomon performing a Prelude in C minor by Johann Sebastian Bach Saint Sever Abbey Church (Landes, France) Organ by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll (1898) @LydieSolomon
And you seem to have enjoyed the date. Careful: once you met Cavaillé, you never forget him. Probably Bach would have liked to play it like you, accouplements et octaves graves, this gives a magnificent deep sound and a great impetus. Thank you very much.
Please please keep playing - but watch your articulation in faster passages as your registration combines to produce an obfuscating sonority. I speak to encourage - one organist to another. We are fortunate in our choice of instrument so let's all keep working and thank you for sharing.
I love whatever Plein Jeu/Cornet/Carillon ranks are playing in the Positif (I think) division. Very much like the famous Récit Cornet+Carillon sound of St. Ouen.
@@paulcaswell2813 Warrington Council is bankrupt. They have one of the highest per capita debt levels of any council in the country just as a result of providing basic social services. They cannot afford to restore the organ. And at this point, it needs restoration, not just maintenance. It's knackered. Also, it has always been very rarely used in the Parr Hall, and it takes up valuable space that most users of the hall would prefer to be available for other purposes. Warrington Council, quite understandably, want rid of it. But they recognise its rarity and preciousness, and so they want a decent sum of money for it... which is why the proposal a decade ago for it to be relocated to Sheffield Cathedral fell through.
I myself as an organist would love to play it!! You are playing on a tracker action organ can you change stops by hand sounds fantastic to me and you're playing is magnificent indeed!!! How about playing the one where Daniel Roth plays at with 5 manuals and tracker action organ also

sounds very nice but one question, why barefoot? socks is controversial among organists and organ shoes are recommended for hygiene. I personally find it really weird to play barefoot on a public pipe organ

What on earth has this performance to do with Bach? Lovely instrument but does not speak with 18th cent voice at all, and the performer is obviously not familiar with the language of Bach... That prob sounds harsh, but Bach is too great a composer to be treated in such a manner.

is this normally how you dress on a first date, especially with such a distinguished date as M. Cavaillé-Coll? And shoeless and in beach-wear in a church? How do you spell T-A-C-K-Y?

It's porridge, you'd have to detach the notes a lot in the speed to make it readable.
The recording is over compressed, which is partly why it sounds so unclear.
One needs to listen to an old recording of Cochereau to hear just how to 'detach' in a big space.

Most wonderful!
Very nice!! I wished I could play on a Cavaillé-Coll organ too 😀
I played a Cavaillé-Coll for the first time last month and you should have seen my face!

Je rêve de jouer d'un Cavaillé-Coll. :)
The Parr Hall in Warrington, UK, has a Cavaille-Coll that is still in original condition!
Mostly. The original Barker lever action is gone, replaced by electro-pneumatics.
And Warrington Council is refusing to care for the instrument too.

Bravo et merci Lydie !!

Pelada ? Na igreja ?
Lol this comment section slaughtered this poor person. But yeah, it's an organ, you need to "play the room".
Wow I love how you play 👏👏👏
It looks so easy when you play this organ, are you so powerful or does the organ have some playing aids?
Maybe both :)
Should have a Barker machine to make it easier to play with all the intermanual coupling going on.
What if all pipe organs were build to sound this good? That dude knew what he was doing
Ik speel geregeld op P. Schijven orgels in Belgie. Zijn die te veegelijken met C.Coll orgels. De klank van een Schijven orgel is ook zeeer mooooii.
You simply have no idea at all. The tempo is ludicrous.
Great sounding antique organ. I’ll bet it’s a lot easier to simply press a button in a second’s notice than it is to turn a knob, though.
Ich dachte, Sie wären am Strand, Mademoiselle! Nein, es handelt sich um ein Konzert! Wieso dann?
Why are you playing in bare feet ? When I was taught that was a

Quite common even among the pros. Organmasters are a con!

Just a guess, you would never visit a nude coed european sauna either.

How do you spell N-A-S-T-Y? At her level she pretty much does what she wants.
Maybe it was a hot day and everyone in the church was so dressed anyway...
First organist I've seen playing with bare feet!
C'est quand que l'on vous voit et entend à Roquevaire, un orgue splendide vous attend !
Youre foot pedaling is aluring !
Pourquoi pas en string !

Muddy and uninspiring
Dress up young lady
Don’t think playing the organ is such a feat that excuses indecency
Lots can play it
Wasn't there a more decent look for performing music in a place of worship?
Please, clothes! 👖🧥
She plays too fast for the building, well done anyway.
Lidye, Cavaille- Coll not good for Bach music, better for french music.
Builder makes no difference. Her registration should have been much sparser, but maybe she didn't know any Widor so use made do with this Bach.
Completely naked would be more decent though forbidden by YT.
Old white man's fantasm ?
예쁘시네요
