Awesome! As a quest 3 owner I was really hoping they would do this! I'll hold off on playing again until they do that then. I only got through that awesome opening hour
@@coltynstone-lamontagne They said that it should take up to 33 days after the last update for this update to come out, so it will most likely come out at the end of April or beginning of May.
I muddled my way through the first puzzle room and then just stopped when I got to the second one. I love a good puzzle but along with all the other tedium I felt I was putting up with, it just put it over the edge for me. It's a shame because it looks like there are lots of gems in this game if you are willing to go slog through a lot of frustration, which I am much more willing to do on a flatscreen game where I can be completely comfortable and don't have to worry about a short battery life. This game gives me a headache after a couple of hours, and with the relatively short battery life of my Quest 3 it just feels more worth it to spend that time not being unnecessarily frustrated. Thanks for the review! Love your videos.
Totally man! I played the game a bit further and there are cool parts to it. But the combat just isnt that great and it keeps throwing puzzle after puzzle at you just to waste your time to make the game longer. it feels like the whole game was just made with the intent to make a loooooong game.
I mean it's just the puzzles for me man. I could give a flying fuck about solving a puzzle in VR. It's stopped me from playing this game several times now and it's a shame because everything else is pretty enjoyable. I don't get some "ah ha" feeling when I solve the puzzle....I just feel relief of being able to move on.....
It's the best game I've ever played because it's not just about constant battles! What they've accomplished with a standalone headset is incredible. Addressing all the concerns you mentioned might not even be possible. It's definitely worth the price. The game is a blend of battle and puzzles, and it’s not supposed to be easy. Regarding repetition, each time you enter a different area or play with a new hero or companion, it feels like a completely different game. I loved it wholeheartedly! I appreciate your opinion; other people enjoy different games, and that's awesome!
As someone who's recently gotten into VR, this game has been really good at helping me get my VR legs. I don't know if I'll stick with it but it's a great choice of pack-in game IMO.
This video is a masterpiece! The editing, script, and pace is just perfect. I got to the red bird part then quit after going through the anoying puzzles, wandering, and getting stuck at parts when the difficulty ramed up dramaticly
First of all, this is a very nice video with nice pace, editing, and very interesting content. I already played and finished the first Asgard's Wrath. In the beginning, it was just like you described AW2. However, once I learned how it works, I fell in love with it. That being said, here are some suggestions 1) Have you tried AW2 after the Quest 3 upgrade? While it doesn't make it as good as PCVR, I find the difference significant and just tips it over to the good enough graphics category. It is a huge deal because while the graphics aren't groundbreaking, they stop being distracting, and you enjoy the game more 2) Have you tried "Give me Wrath" level difficulty? The fact that it is more challenging forces you to think about your attacks and defense in more clever ways. I think comparing the gameplay pysics to Bone Lab is really an inaccurate comparison. The game has to stay accessible and Bone Lab is an aquired taste. It is unrealistic to ask for such level complexity for a game intended to please as many people as possible. 3) it seems you are still thinking about VR games from a flat screen perspective. When you say the main character you play has no personality and you only hear the mortal human characters talk, you must realize that the main character is YOU! You are playing in first-person perspective, and it doesn't make sense if your character starts talking to himslef. When the mortal characters are talking, they are talking to you as the God that is taking control of their body but not their minds. This is much clear in AW1, and maybe that is why you dont understand it well. Just like Moss1 and Moss 2. The reader doesn't say anything because the reader is the player himself. 4) The puzzles are actually very engaging and challenging. I also had to use walk-through videos for AW1, but I can tell you they made it much clearer in AW2. In AW1, I was often lost and didn't know where the game wanted me to go. But with adding the compass in AW2, they made a big improvement. Anyways, I really wish they made a PCVR version of it for best graphics, but for me, the experience makes it more than worth it.
Im currently playing AW1 (about 6 hours in) and i just find it completely unengaging for the reasons shown in the video. The combat feels stiff, not creative, rigid and just arbitrary. The rest of the game is just walking on rails which is extra annoying since you cant teleport/dash through empty hallways which on top of that you sometimes have to back track. Add quite some load screens and it means that about 20% of my time was actually fun and engaging and 80% was boring or sometimes even frustrating. Sorry but 20% is just too little. Curious about your opinion. Though i doubt it, please tell me the game drasticly picks up the pace after 6 hours xD
I have to admit, I'm now 11 hours in and, once you're used to all the menus and game systems, it's finally picking up the pace and getting fun. But this just goes to show how incredibly bad the game design of the first 5-7 hours is if it takes away all the fun to get used to everything.
@baukepoelsma yes exactly. They should have made it start better. I have played this game on and off for years from the Oculus Rift days, lol. I only really got into it once I bought the Quest 3 because the resolution and graphics were insanely beautiful. I am glad you got into it. The gameplay isn't the best, but everything else is awesome, the story, the graphics, and the immersion. What helped most with the immersion was removing the HUD and removing enemies' health bar. I also put difficulty at hard. It might be a bit confusing at times, but the immersion is great that way. Once you finish it and start AW2, be ready for a drop in graphics quality, but like I said, they made a great job to keep it as nice as possible. The best thing for you, though, will be that you already know the game and it's mechanics so you will get into it much faster. Generally, the gameplay and puzzles are better on the second one, and it is also more like an open world, so much less on wheels than the first one. Enjoy!
I agree it didnt quite match my hype nor was the pacing during the in between stuff particularly fun but when the game does shine it can have some incredible moments. The scale, boss fights, and over length of the game is definitely something vr needs. This video inspires me to finally beat it.
VR needs an OoT-like title, and not one where you control a little friend. Not to knock Moss, it's great. But I want a small open world, descrete, unique dungeons, fun traversal, and gentle, simple storytelling.
Hello! In some ways, I agree with you. Asgards wrath 2 is not a masterpiece. But I still believe it is a great step in the future of vr gaming! I felt a lot of the feelings you felt the first time I played. By the time I got two saga 6-7, I just wanted the game to be over. I mostly just stuck to the main quests. Didn't explore too much. And once I got to the final boss and won. I felt sort of.. empty. I tried getting back into it by going to the other areas, but once I had already beaten them. It didn't feel like there was a point. Like you said: "It starts to feel repetitive". So, I decided to restart the game but instead of just booking it to the end. I explored, did side content, and what I found... I enjoyed it a lot more. I found things I didn't even know were there the first time I played. Learned a lot more about the characters you meet. Did you know that bes originally was a friend of set before he betrayed Osiris? Bet you didn't. You learn all these amazing things and experience so much. By the time I was at the 10 hour mark same as you. You were at the second character already, but me? I was level 12 exploring Caves and doing requests and side quests in saga 2. I got better armor, better weapons. Which in turn made the combat more fun because it wasn't as challenging in result of the better armor/weapons. My companions were stronger because I also upgraded them. There bonds were stronger. At first I thought Subira to be kind of a jerk. But now knowing her story through growing her friendship, I realized she was abused and just wanted to be loved. So much stuff I missed when I only focused on the main quests. A bit more I want to talk about. About the invisible walls and limitations.. I grew up playing the older games like prince of persia sands of time, super mario sunshine, legend of zelda ocarina of time. Those games always had invisible walls. So I just kinda got used to it. It might feel like its immersion breaking for you. And I understand that. But, it really isn't that big of a deal. Anyways, overall I recommend playing through it without rushing it. Truly take your time and explore everything. And I truly think your opinion will change. If you read this far, thank you! Hopefully you take my advice. As always great content and whatever you may believe as your opinion is fine! Your a great content creator keep up the amazing work!
I had great 20 minutes of watching this video/review.👍 I completed the game back in February and returned to it a few days ago for some after game content. With various updates/fixes including QOL and Q3 rendering, everything looks and feels really great. When I started the game back in December, I was halfway through AC Nexus. As you mentioned, some restrictions in AW2 on where you could climb and inability to step over some barriers felt odd and uncomfortable compared to the fully climbable and jumpable environment of Nexus. That was probably my only complaint about the gameplay. However, the "AC Nexus syndrome" gradually faded as the game progressed, consistently surprising me with massive new environments, cool characters, skills, awesome followers, riding mechanics, epic bosses, and more. Now that I've returned to it, I like it even more than before. It’s seriously such an impressive project for a standalone game. I can’t compare it to anything else on the platform in terms of gameplay richness and scale.
Felt so many of these same things when I started this game. Now about 15 hours in I see what the game is and I love rpgs so this game is awesome to me and I'll keep coming back to it probably for 100 hours. 🔥🔥❤️❤️
You and i are the only two souls that are awake and think independently. I still can't wrap my head around it: why does everyone else love this game SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much? Even those people i met online, who i believe have no incentives to lie or to promote this game, have only amazing reviews about their own experiences. I was like a crazy person wondering, am i crazy or is the whole world crazy out there. Thank you!
This game has a slow start. Boring environments, puzzles, dungeons, combats etc. But once you get pass the 10 hours mark, everything gets significantly better.
Subbed. Briliant analysis. I stopped playing around 9 hours in. This helped me realise why. Thisngame getting 10's is the first major embarrassment to VR. Especially when there were already existing games like into the Radius that outclassed it
This is EXACTLY what i needed to hear. Basicly like Asgarths Wrath 1; bad uninspirational rigid combat, the rest of the game on rails, just bigger and longer. Which is bad if you don't enjoy most of it xD Anybody knows a truely satifsying VR RPG with gripping story and not these drawbacks?
I agree this game is nowhere near perfect, not even GOTY materia. It was worth 60 to me because it included Asgard's Wrath 1 so it's more like I got two games for $30 each. (I fully completed that game before starting this one). I think some points made in the video are just personal preference, though. The first thing to come to mind are the puzzles, I actually quite enjoyed those, that "aha" moment when everything clicks makes me feel like the smartest guy in the world (I know that's just an illussion because puzzlesn in games are designed to be solved after all), but that's probably because I enjoy games like The Legend of Zelda. I also enjoyed backtracking, coming back to old areas once in a while with a new ability unlocked to get items I couldn't before, but that's because I enjoy Metroidvanias. I also liked the restrictive, timing-based combat, but I do feel it was a bit less focused and chaotic than AW1's combat. Speaking of AW1, That game was a lot more linear, but it felt better paced, it reminded me a lot of God of War 2018, but with Zelda puzzles too. AW2 feels more polished in certain areas AW1 lacked, and I hope AW3 combines AW2's polish with AW1's restraint, that would result in a game we could truly call great.
Hey man I REALLY appreciate your postive outlook on a game that you didnt like that much. I recently saw a indie game critic who kept comparing every platformer to Celeste and it drove me nuts. Even if the game was good he'd be like "id still recommend celeste over it." You're able to take a game thats objectively not that good in many ways and still shine some light and postivity onto it and I just feel that is better for the community as a whole.
I just bought the 3s, comes with batman game and 3 months of meta quest+, and asgard's being free with the subscription, I might as well try it out. Thanks for the honest review.
This review completely nailed it, covering nearly all the main aspects of what is expected from a new AAA VR game, in details. Your tests are incredible, keep it up ! subbed. Also as personal feedback : the graphics turned me down. They could have made a PC quality first and then lower quality options to make it Q3 compatible, but they preferred to constrain it to Quest3 quality for flagship reasons. It's not a good strategy imo. (they seem to have regretted it, judging by the latest graphic overhaul)
I personally loved the game, one of my favorite of all time, puzzles werent great., tedious at times, But I fought from distance with all characters, and combat was fun, I loved playing as each character and upgrading, in my opinion everyone should play beautifull game
That’s great to hear! I definitely know this game has its audience, I think it just wasn’t what I was expecting. I do hope anyone who can give it a try does!
I wish I could keep playing this game, but for some reason, I got soft locked in the part where Thoth is supposed to join your team, but after I figure it out the star puzzles he just stands at his desk and doesn’t do anything. Does anyone know how to fix that?
This game got me frustrated two time for the same reason. In two different session of grappling around with the wip in succession... an anchor was covered by the big glowing objective marker... two time same big design mistake. How many time I have fallen to my death for not seeing that. Now I go and turn marker off every time I make a traversal section.
Im only a few hours in this game, im really enjoying it but i definitely agree with almost everything you've said. Its very disappointing you cant interact with the world around you more.
The fact that this has only 4,2/5 stars is CRIMINAL For me it's a complete masterpiece. The puzzles are always rewarding and I've seen only one that was frustrating because I didn't find by myself (the first one with the hammer). Just like with AW1, my thought while playing was that the game offered so much more than needed. I would have given it 20/20 for much less, and it kept giving for hours. The fact that people gave the title of "best vr game ever" to HL alyx and only 4,2 to this is beyond disgusting. I strongly disagree with everything said in this video except that the game would have been even better with physics. What I heared is 21 minutes of wrong arguments (designed to play seated? for real who would thing about playing it seated?), proof of lazyness, proof of stupidity, plain lies, pure bad faith (comparing AW1 graphics to a standalone game on a smartphone GPU?), lack of any gaming skill and common sense (the guy does the Wii swinging technique while the game rewards precise slashes and choice of moves at the correct timing). The game doesn't force you to wait to parry attacks, that's just one more lie. Get my dislike and please stop posting "reviews".
As the fan of the first one, i gave this one my maximum patience. I really lost it when i was wondering in that empty desert. Not even some rocks to fill each frame. All the enemies are so repetitive. All the explorations are so predictable, except for some big puzzles. I still don't want to give it another try after the texture pack came out. Masterpiece my ass.
It's clear this is "included with purchase," just as you mentioned, because it will hook newbs (like me) on VR. Seems completely fair to point out how it's maybe not great for the uber experienced, fight focused, gamer.
You think when sanzaru made a game where the main character seeks redemption, the least they could have done was give that plot to Penelope after they made her a traitor in their sly cooper thieves in time game.
For me my biggest complaint is JUST the combat. I've grown so accustomed to physics-based combat like Blade and Sorcery that anything even a little arcade-esc in VR melee combat just kind of falls flat for me. Im fine with all the exploration stuff because its nice to have a breath of fresh air between combat, and I actually like the puzzles. My only other complaint is the lack of loot that barely makes the game feel like an RPG. I want to wield a big ass greatsword and I want the collisions with the sword to feel like its actually crushing bones, not some tiny hatchet that barely has feedback when you attack.
I asked so many friends "Is this a 10/10? Is this really great? Or is it great FOR A VR GAME?" And yeah now that I've played myself, its cool, but its not a 10/10 :D
that's Meta's money and no money from Ubisoft, in a nutshell. As for me, they're both among the best games ever made for VR. No, I don't give a duck to whatever professional reviewers or indie shills or pcvr fanboys have to say about it...
Basically. In relation to the current VR market, it makes sense why this game would stand out NOW. But in the long run, I don’t think this game will be remembered for doing any one thing particularly well.
I found it pretty fun but I don't know if I'll play it again Edit: I fell asleep and came back to the video I may change my mind about not playing it again Your video showed me so much I haven't seen yet So I thank you for that
Also fuck standing up to play. When you work in a factory standing on hard cement floors, all day you cherish the moment you can sit. Plus I’d wager most people like to be comfortable when gaming.
I just got a Quest 3 and started playing this game for about 4 hours. I really like it so far but your review made me realize why one word kept popping up in my mind. Tedious. I wasn't sure why at first because everything looked great to me. There's so much to do, so I should really like it. You nailed it on the head though. It's scripted and it's tedious. I'd enjoy the fights and then the boss fights so much I wanted to keep going but then it felt like I'd suddenly hit a wall when a puzzle comes up. I'd have to context switch because I want more combat but now I have to try to solve a puzzle, and there are no hints like you've pointed out, so I have to take off my headset, google or youtube the solution, then go back in. It really does ruin the flow. I find myself just stop playing completely at times because I'm taking off my headset to go search for the solution to a puzzle. So I just put it off and don't play again for days because it felt like something I don't want to do. It felt like a chore when it should be enjoyable.
Ahhhh I’m genuinely so relieved you can relate so well. I was worried I was being overdramatic or impatient or just dumb, but thankfully I’m not the only one! You’re right, on paper this game has everything I should want in a game, but in execution it totally does feel tedious.
I'd give it a 7/10. Better than average, but that isn't saying much for VR. The main issue is the gameplay loop, it's mostly the same thing with little variation. Don't even get me started on the "story"
Never believe the fake RUclipss their the left hand of meta ! Getting the game for free or hooked up by meta ! Read the reviews of people who actually buy the game . This is one of the few that gives a real unbiased review.
There is only so much you can do with 1.2 and 2.4 tflops of processing power, the Quest 2&3 are good for what they are but they are very limited in what they can do, if the Quest 3 had carried over the Eye tracking from the Quest Pro then DFR for Quest 3 might have become a thing and this would have helped to lift the fidelity to a higher level, but probably at the cost of an already limited battery life now driving the eye tracking as well, so its understandable that Meta left out the eye tracking technology, maybe Quest 4 will bring DFR and maybe even a displayport for proper uncompressed video streaming from the PC?
from the perspective of someone who's been playing games since the atari and sees all the references and inspirations and downright mechanics from classics like God of War, Zelda, FFVII and others... this is a masterpiece. From the perspective of liltards who never played real games and complain about "invisible walls" or such BS, and only use tech demos for half an hour of free ragdoll chopping for their daily workout routine, I can see it not working and being "boring"...
I just got the quest 3 and this game came with it as it does. After about 3 hours I had to put this down. It looks great but there's no weight to any of the combat. And a lot of it seems to be meant as spectacle but if you're a long time VR player it's really nothing new. Half Life Alyx imo is still the gold standard
I had basically the same experience as you, but I still haven't convinced myself to keep playing. Especially when I could be playing Dungeons of Eternity instead. Great video though! I almost completely agree with everything you said and it was very well put together, as usual from you.
Combat was my biggest qualm with this game and the reason I love Dungeons of Eternity. The endless puzzles didn't help along with the UI and slow pace of the game.
It is a great game it gave me legend of zelda ocarina of time and mario 64 as a intro to a new era. However the annoying thing for me is that even in the basic mode to feel less nauseous i still get dizzy quick and need to play in 20 minute intervals with a 20 minute break so i am chugging along slwly 😅
Valid criticisms, but honestly the reason I'm not so huge on the Asgard's Wrath series is that I'm just not that big on Fantasy. I thought the scope of the world was great, and likewise the appearance (with the qualifier, "for standalone" with the second one), detail and general polish. Just not a world that interested me much. Same reason I love Fallout VR (modded), but don't care for Skyrim.
Maybe one day ill give this another shake, but playing dungeons of eternity before this one honestly made AW2 look and feel so clunky that i could not vibe with it. The settings for control layout alone, if you're left handed like i am be prepared to have a pretty frustrating time with this game's one size fits all left or right handed modes. Super glad it came with the quest 3 cause i would've felt scammed if i paid 60 dollars for this clunky mess
This is why I say most people that didn't like it didn't get past Act 1. That's like only experiencing the Helgen part of Skyrim and saying "sKyrim iSn't goOd!".
People act like these puzzles are so hard, I've gotten to where you beat big sexy lady. I'll say not a single puzzle has been so crazy I want to quit. The closet one was the star map one where you have to trace the stars
Asgard's wrath might be a great game, but I can't play for more than a few minutes before getting motion sickness, I can play contractors and beat saber for a long time, no problem, but for some reason I get a headache when I'm playing asgard's wrath
Not gonna lie this is a good video but it really misses the mark at one point. One review from IGN is subjective in the playtime. Bro was doing so much shenanigans in the rift that he was probably in there for at least 30 hours. He also got that monkey sidequest which means he had to sift through many requests to also get to that point and he also probably explored a lot. I spent 60 hours to beat the game on Wrath and I was stuck on a few parts and explored and did a few side quests. Around 15 of those hours were in the rifts. You make it look like you have to deal with filler in the main quests when the filler is up to you for the most part. There IS physics based combat, just not B&S style. It’s simple with it as you have simulated weight (not too extreme) of weapons and physical damage are based off of how hard you hit. With the “lack of immersion” that’s definitely a personal thing because Saga 2 is around 12-15+ hours casually and you only are in your Cosmic form when you launch the game, then you head straight to your mortal form. Quite wacky how you showed parts of the game that have invisible walls because if you just open your compass, you are clearly not supposed to go that way. Why would you jump down 60 feet in the air when you can take stairs? (7:01) Why would you go to a bum pile of rocks when the litteral temple is in forward direction? If you wanted to get to that area you could’ve before you approached the temple. (7:16) It’s just more of a common sense thing and the way how the game is coded I don’t think it would work well without those restrictions. You are right about a bit of the unclearness and a little bit of the tediousness but this review turns a little bit “experimental” especially with the comparison. For something that was built on the quest 2 it’s revolutionary, and there’s yet to be a graphics upgrade which is pretty cool. It’s very important to finish the game because the pace starts to pick up after Saga 3, and puzzles get very easy and there is significantly less. I wish you treated this more like a sponsored review.
I can tell you’re pretty passionate about this game and I’m glad! My entire goal with this channel is to get more people excited and passionate about VR, because it’s something I really love and believe in. But I just personally felt really disappointed by this supposedly “game-changing” VR game because it lacked so many of the qualities that made me fall in love with virtual reality in the first place. And while I could’ve approached this video much more positively like my other videos, that would be dishonest to my own experience, as well as wouldn’t add anything super meaningful to the discussion about this game since the majority of the coverage I could find on this game was already very positive or sponsored. If it helps, this video is intended to be much more of a video essay/critique than a fully encompassing review, since I didn’t fully complete the game. After 15 hours of not enjoying the game, I didn’t imagine much changing, and even it the game did get much better in the final act, it would still be difficult for me to recommend since it took so long to get there. That’s a lot of time and money to commit to a game that simply isn’t as fun or immersive as others on the market. But again, that’s just my personal opinion and I totally respect yours!
@@VirtualBroVR yeah I just felt like you could’ve done a little bit more research, weather in the codex or exploring because it does start off with a lot of puzzles but most aren’t frustrating, or at least to me. Not trying to change options but I just felt like it gave this game a bland, filler impression that made it only good for the boss fights or something. Besides that the video was good 👍
It is not the mitology. I like everything that has to be with Greek/egypt and etc gods. The game it’s just….. lame (in my opinion, pls don’t attack me). I really wanted to like this game and my expectations high but I just could not take myself to keep playing it after a few hours. I was just bored to death. Hate the gameplay and the long uninteresting talking… I don’t know. Many people like it for some reason.
I have sort of fell off on this game 40+ hours in... I still think it is a great game... it's just too much. The game tries to be too many types of games at once. RPG is about stats and items, while action VR is about the sword play and ranged accuracy. This game tries to do both at once and then throw puzzles on top. It's off putting to do a perfect parry and counter attack to see it do 1% damage, then die immediately because the enemy happens to be 30 levels above you... in a cave next to the starting area.
I prefer to set things to the hardest difficulty to trial and error my way through things. This game will just remove enemies if they kill you which i cant stand.
i stopped the game after an hour bc of the gameplay. i felt like a toddler. i really love vr for physics based games. prefer ghosts of tabor more than contractors showdown for example
well, i will never play it - simply because i own an index instead. the only reason i would EVER get a quest is if i wanted to travel with my gaming laptop and a vr headset. but despite not sounding like it - i am not made of money. sorry meta - you could have had my 60 dollars, if you, you know, released on pc.
Yes, yes it is. Once you get through the few hour intro it opens up and becomes a zelda esk open world rpg. Best vr game imo.
Thanks, I do not have to watch 20 minutes
information: it was confirmed a few months ago that Asgard's Wrath 2 will get a graphical update for Quest 3 which will bring a 4K texture pack to the game, so you can expect good improvements in the graphics, this update should be out by the end of April or maximum in early May.
Good graphics won’t fix terrible gameplay
@@jamaisvu2664 huhu, I hope that after this visual update they improve the gameplay, which isn't even able to jump, it's cool, right?
@@jamaisvu2664 okay terrible is wayyy pushing it
Awesome! As a quest 3 owner I was really hoping they would do this! I'll hold off on playing again until they do that then. I only got through that awesome opening hour

Omg fml haha

This game gives me a headache after a couple of hours, and with the relatively short battery life of my Quest 3 it just feels more worth it to spend that time not being unnecessarily frustrated. Thanks for the review! Love your videos.
I’m so glad you can relate. This is exactly how I felt!! Thanks for sharing :)

I'm terrible at most puzzles but I eventually figured them out.
Eventually is definitely the operative word though. Lol
You're totally right I can play a flat screen puzzle game but this one I was done with it after the first puzzle.
Boring as hell due to all the puzzles. So disappointed.

I got rumble vr after your video in it, and in the first week I had 30 hours. It’s the BEST
That’s so awesome to hear! Really glad you’re enjoying it!! :)
He’s backkkkk love this channel thank you for the best reviews
Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
First of all, this is a very nice video with nice pace, editing, and very interesting content.
I already played and finished the first Asgard's Wrath. In the beginning, it was just like you described AW2. However, once I learned how it works, I fell in love with it. That being said, here are some suggestions
1) Have you tried AW2 after the Quest 3 upgrade? While it doesn't make it as good as PCVR, I find the difference significant and just tips it over to the good enough graphics category. It is a huge deal because while the graphics aren't groundbreaking, they stop being distracting, and you enjoy the game more
2) Have you tried "Give me Wrath" level difficulty?
I was thinking this playing walkabout golf :) That I wanted a zelda like adventure in a low poly world like that.
I've played and I would give it a 9/10
This was a good review brother, but why compare pcvr graphics to standalone and not even mention it 🤦🤦
he put (pc vr) (quest) 16:01
I played this game and Into the Radius at the same time, and Into the Radius hooked me on way better
Dude thank you for this! I’ve been stuck in the rogue like section so confused as to why I couldn’t progress the story!
Felt so many of these same things when I started this game. Now about 15 hours in I see what the game is and I love rpgs so this game is awesome to me and I'll keep coming back to it probably for 100 hours. 🔥🔥❤️❤️
I just wanted to say that this is a great video and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on more vr games in the future.
Thank you!
To be honest, the game is really made for people who are just getting into VR fr beautiful game still tho
Especially when there were already existing games like into the Radius that outclassed it
itr and aw2 are very different games. even on a 1-10 rating scale i dont think its fair to compare them
What if I don't like RPGs and there's very few fantasy games that I'm drawn to? Should I still get this?
Finally, the review comes.
I liked it but I am new to RPGs, even though I have been playing VR for 10 years. Thanks for the detailed review.
This is EXACTLY what i needed to hear. Basicly like Asgarths Wrath 1; bad uninspirational rigid combat, the rest of the game on rails, just bigger and longer. Which is bad if you don't enjoy most of it xD
Anybody knows a truely satifsying VR RPG with gripping story and not these drawbacks?
You're never going to get it. Just play Elden Ring again.
Even if the game was good he'd be like "id still recommend celeste over it."
You're able to take a game thats objectively not that good in many ways and still shine some light and postivity onto it and I just feel that is better for the community as a whole.
Its very disappointing you cant interact with the world around you more.
i like how u included nimso, his project is awesome
2 months later, Did you finish it?
Played it for 6 hours
And I was really enjoying it And then it got repetitive and I haven’t touch it since maybe I should try hopping back in again🤔
The fact that this has only 4,2/5 stars is CRIMINAL
For me it's a complete masterpiece.
Subscriber earned. Well done soldier
This game gets so good when you invest like 10+ hours
people stop playing before the end of the tutorial, not knowing they are missing one of the best video game ever made
It's clear this is "included with purchase," just as you mentioned, because it will hook newbs (like me) on VR. Seems completely fair to point out how it's maybe not great for the uber experienced, fight focused, gamer.
I mean the graphics now much much better especially with game optimiser if I pull up the graphics better than many games in my PS5
You think when sanzaru made a game where the main character seeks redemption, the least they could have done was give that plot to Penelope after they made her a traitor in their sly cooper thieves in time game.
I’m playing the game and tbh I love it, one of the best vr games I have played tbh
I personally like rides
I personally like games more :)
I felt the same way. Glad someone finally said it
I asked so many friends
"Is this a 10/10? Is this really great? Or is it great FOR A VR GAME?"
And yeah now that I've played myself, its cool, but its not a 10/10 :D
SAME THING happened to me. Played the rogue mode for like two hrs before I realized it WASN’T the main game. STOPPED playing.
No it’s not that good in my opinion. If IGN gave AC Nexus a 7, I don’t know how tf they gave Asgard’s Wrath a 10
A 10 for a game like this is unprofessional and very biased. And i wouldn't be surprised if with conflict of interest too.
AC nexus runs and plays like booty though
@@ImDaBabyit runs silky smooth for me (on quest 3)
The fact they gave arizona sunshine 2 only an 8
that's Meta's money and no money from Ubisoft, in a nutshell. As for me, they're both among the best games ever made for VR. No, I don't give a duck to whatever professional reviewers or indie shills or pcvr fanboys have to say about it...
was wondering if i should buy it, thanks for the info
Glad I could help :)
so is this game still good
if you sort meta store items by price this game will be in the top most xpensive apps on meta store
What I am hearing is that its a 10/10 VR game for people who dont play VR usually.
Basically. In relation to the current VR market, it makes sense why this game would stand out NOW. But in the long run, I don’t think this game will be remembered for doing any one thing particularly well.
I found it pretty fun but I don't know if I'll play it again
Edit: I fell asleep and came back to the video
I may change my mind about not playing it again
Your video showed me so much I haven't seen yet
So I thank you for that
I can pretty much relate to that. Thanks for the comment! :)
bro I tried playing the game but the mummy in the beginning scared me and I left
@@IStareAtGames that scares me every single time too haha I spam the buttons to try and skip it lol
You should be ashamed of yourself
This is the best comment of all! 😂 Ive got jump scared lots of time too, but now it doesn't anymore.
Also fuck standing up to play. When you work in a factory standing on hard cement floors, all day you cherish the moment you can sit. Plus I’d wager most people like to be comfortable when gaming.
Can we get a "Song in the Smoke" review?
Is that game actually good? I haven’t heard much about it and I think it came out awhile ago
It is the best game i ever played. you guys dont know what quality is.
I got the game for free with my quest 3 and I'm telling you right now if I paid full price for it I would not have buyers remorse.
Thank you so much! I was really worried people wouldn’t be able to relate so this is very validating to hear!
I prefer dungeons of eternity !
Not a 10 for sure but still a great game!
Honestly, I just waiting for Blade and Sorcery’s crystal hunt mode to come out
Same I think that will be my perfect VR game
Valid criticisms, but honestly the reason I'm not so huge on the Asgard's Wrath series is that I'm just not that big on Fantasy. I thought the scope of the world was great, and likewise the appearance (with the qualifier, "for standalone" with the second one), detail and general polish. Just not a world that interested me much. Same reason I love Fallout VR (modded), but don't care for Skyrim.
You can get dungeons of eternity with a quest plus subscription
It would be a better game with free movement like jumping or climbing anything.
BABE WAKE UP VIRTUAL BRO POSTED A NEW VID!
Bros 15 hours how much more can u ask from him let alone the average consumer
Yeah he got parts about tediousness and a few unclear quests right, but it kinda goes into an “experimental” review afterwards.
you just saved me from buying this game, aha
also please make a review on Survival Nation if you haven't already
yeah definitely do not buy. complete bs marketing
I think you should play it if the game interests you. Everyone has different taste.
@@marcincudo5116 no complete waste of time, the marketing is a lie, so it’s difficult to know if it’ll interest you unless you play it
@@marcincudo5116 based on the marketing It does interest me. But the marketing is a lie
Remembers me of prince of persia sands of time
People act like these puzzles are so hard, I've gotten to where you beat big sexy lady.
Besides that the video was good 👍
I mean to each their own but I think Asgards Wrath 2 is brilliant
So, basically, it's not even a vr game, but a flat screen game with vr support, for some reason advertised as as one?
Well no, this is technically a VR exclusive. But it definitely feels a less physical and interactive than most VR games like it.
All of your gripes are with the RPG/open world mechanics in general.
I did the exact same thing with that injured bird part... the game is painfully misleading there.
So glad I’m not the only one!
I know exactly which cave you’re talking about haha
I don’t mind it is long because there is nothing else to play so I am in not hurry to finish in 1 year :)
l am like... poor
But am glad that this platform is growing into something more substantial
It’s good but not a 10. Alyx existing already drops AW2 to a 9 at best. And I say that as someone who got it for free without even buying a Q3
