I'm also amused at the contrast between this map and the previous map - thoughtful puzzles and riddles in a sleepy forest versus surviving the doomguy-mulching meat tornado machine - same format too! Chickens do not count towards kills, it would be very unfair on UV-MAX players. They're reskinned Commander Keens so killing them all does something depending on the map: MAP31's secret exit requires you to kill all chickens along the way. Some trivia: I put the Unreal logo secret in long before it got delisted, and my first experience with mapping anything at all was on UT3, hence the red/silver scheme.

Ok the intro of the slaughterhouse chute is not only clever but really well done with the assets used. This is one talented mapper and great choice for sure!
I played headless chicken all the way through (or at least the maps that were finished) during the last round of submissions. This is one of the most fun wads I have ever played, and I seriously mean that. The creativity on display here is incredible. I'm so glad this wad is close to being finished!
The high pitched revenant missile and the fast tempo of the music really makes the whole level as a no-stop huge fever dream. And all the fights are always evolving and opening new latch filled enemies to make sure you can't camp... I should really try out the whole wad if every levels are that good ! I'm loving the midi too. Great work
I think because of yt format during the upload it may lose image quality, even decino and bmd says sometimes some maps look darker and less clear on yt than on their pc while playing

This map is better than I could have ever imagined in the doom engine. The intro has that old timey slaughter house like a good 90's boomshoot vibe and it contains actual chickens in the level. Fact - Not even doom eternal has chickens.
The architecture, the conveyor at the start (and other spots) and the chickens everywhere make me think this is a hecknological version of a meat packing plant. And you've disturbed these poor demons' work shifts. 😂
Oh my gosh, what a map, and the start, oh my gosh, it feels like you were trapped in a flood of blood and you were being swept away alongside the bodies of your fallen comrades in arms. Simply, literally unique!
By watching the first 10 seconds of the video, I went and downloaded the WAD and started playing it. What a great WAD! This level is amazing visually and very fun to play.

I've been hearing good thinks about this one! I'm waiting for it to be finished before I play it though. I've only played a few of Chookum's maps before, most recently being his map in Mapping At Warpspeed, which was a very fun compact speedmap. If this is what he can do without a 10 hour time limit, I am very excited to check the rest of this out! Hopefully those last few maps come out soon!
So this was absolutely fantastic to watch the level design the combat looked really cool I'm definitely going to be getting this and its only got four levels left before completion that's really cool but yeah I'm gunner have to get this because it looks really fun to play so with that as always cheers for the upload decino
one thing that john romero and his team did, is making Doom as Eternal game (literaly). still kicking some new games asses nowadays. just need a good community, map maker tool, be creative, and thats it.
It was nice to see you pushed a bit without the fights being unfair. A lot of the fights in some of the wads like Italo Doom I though looked a bit BS. But this seemed very skill based without a lot of nonsense. Map looked like a lot of fun.

Holy moly, this map is so well designed and looks awesome! I remember the last time Headless Chicken, it was also wonderful. And MIDI fits the atmosphere :D Kinda weird, there's no shotgun and SSG at all.
This was an entertaining playthrough video from a damn good WAD if I may say so. I've Played this WAD a while ago and can't wait for it to be finished! And it was more enjoyable to watch than your last playthrough GROVE. Thnx for making this great content cant wait for the next video.
Very impressive map! Feels weird to see the Heretic chickens in a Doom map though. I wonder if you could apply a similar rule for a bit of lore? The chickens are ex-demons that were transformed after being hit with a morph ovum curse as punishment for breaking the rules of heck lol.
i've been really looking forward to when this wad is complete since watching the last map from it in your submissions. I've played a couple of the maps and the look and feel of them are just so good! any thoughts of doing a whole playthrough when it's done?

yea seems to be the same secret sector color as ancient aliens... harder to spot on the map.

Nah, nothing that fancy lol. I was rewatching the playthru, surfed the comments, and saw yours had gone unanswered.
I think the lean in this map is supposed to represent lava that is cooling down, which is why it's dimmer and does less damage

I'm pretty sure the distance between the two is too great for the invincibility time you are given by the invulnerability sphere.
