Thanks so much for playin' through my map, very glad you enjoyed it!! I'll provide some real commentary later tonight, just really wanted to say that the final fight is NOT supposed to be that bonkers!! 🤣🤣As I worked to fix the boom issues, I split into two different version of the map - the meat tubes at the end were working in one, broken in another and I didn't notice it till the day of submission pretty much. Frantically, I spent a good bit of time merging, deleting, and copy/pasting that whole area. Needless to say, archviles and barons were duplicated, and instead of 3 cyberdemons, the original 6 spawn. 😰Whoops! :^P
Thanks for the submission! I did enjoy it a lot! Not only to play but also to explore and figure out in UDB how all the intricacies were done. I look forward to the rest of your comment(s), a map like this must've taken you ages and there's a lot to talk about I reckon.
Mate. This whole round of viewer submissions have been outstanding. Your popularity amongst the community has I believe, given mappers the incentive to up their game and it shows. Outstanding my friend. EPIC.
I love the way you approach blind runs now, it's so entertaining to watch, and it's nice to see you approach a problem without fully knowing all the ins and outs. It's nice to have some variety :)
So forgotten it's full of freaking arch-viles. This level reminds me of a Lost Civilization map with the aesthetics, the level of detail, and choice of music. The balance between risk and reward in this level is very well done.
Imagine this with the extended hud on, it would have been a totally different video. What a beautiful example of the unlimited creativity and skills in the community! And great to read the explanations by the map maker.
thank you! i thought it had a mitsuda vibe, but I couldn't place it and wouldn't have been able to continue watching the video without figuring that out
Loacal man spends more linedefs in the starting room than I do in my entire map. EDIT: 4 min in, this map looks like a mishmash that somehow works out. Reminds me of some of Fernito's maps (those who frequent Doomworld will know).
I love it and hate it. Love it because hey, more Decino, but hate it because I don’t have 60-90 solid minutes a day free anymore. I gotta watch in pieces :( That’s a ME problem, I acknowledge!
Man this map has an almost kafkaesque feeling to it. There is a big fight and then there is just another and another. Even watching was sweating me the whole time. Will Decino survive idk?! Oh boy so tense.
You warned me, you said prepare for the feels, and there was absolutely nothing whatsoever that was going to prepare me for that. My heart goes out to the poor mapmaker.
OOOh! I would love an Analysis video of the mapping techniques here: the sliding door, the deep water... I remember you mentioning the bridges en passant during Hell Revealed, Iguess, and Doom 64. I love those technical stuff! Groetjes!
Imagine one of the recent games load in 3 seconds :D Nobody would complain lmao "sweating like a pig" I thought only here in Poland we're saying that haha What a wonderful map with so much details! To me, it looks like there's no limit for creators even in such an old game like Doom. Every submission is a masterpiece!
This map is my kind of challenge. It's right at the upper limit of what i would consider a good amount of detail in a map (any more and i feel like it wouldve interfered with gameplay - great job keeping it at that level, author!)
Amazing work! Very entertaining run. Danger around every corner. Map looked incredible. And you got the cyber and archi fight in a 5x5 room you wanted. Perfection.
Quite a few times this round of viewer submissions I’ve been absolutely awed by the quality of maps we’re seeing. And obviously gameplay on point as always - amazing work all round
Mind boggling levels of detail and mapping magic going on in this one. Bravo to the designer! Reminds me a bit of Eviternity map 32. Not in its level design but in its scale, adventure and tiresome grind.
Wow that was epic! Kudos to you for playing maps like this for our entertainment! I really like the playthroughs you do of long brutal maps. And great job to the map maker, very creative!
Really enjoyed your playthrough of this map Decino! I have watched most of your content and even the tough livestream but this feels like the most edgy playthrough I have seen from you. You were worried and nervous from the start and that death really hurt us too! You did so well though. Really enjoyable the match of player and map and the way the whole adventure unfolded, thanks!
Damn bruh, that reliquary was forgotten as hell! I absolutely love this maximalist mapping style, shame my laptop can’t handle it. Awesome run with a lot of drama!!
Oh my. Boom has been pushed off limits at this map. So insane. And difficultly just explodes at some point quite early. Nice and tough one. Althought\, i suppose it's that tough on ultra-violence only, and so only there having some of these secrets are kinda necessary to find. And veeery nice blind play! You were very close, but map strike in the back: "I don't wanna know, whati's behind me, and if i ignore it, maybe it will ignore me?" (Spoiler: it won't) Speaking of video length: Another long decino video! Impressive! I very like that!) Tho for blind runs i don't look at video length aymore, so getting surprised just as much as you do. (This "trick" could be nice hint for other viewers too, i suppose ;) )
Wow the secrets of this map were completely mandatory! Also amazing music btw. A great map overall. I am checking this video often. It was fun seeing you so sweeting.
Considering how relentless this map is, that was a really good blind run! You even managed to take down the Revenant that got you with your last shot. And how the heck did he make sideways sliding doors in Boom?
This was thrilling! First, great map! Lots of cool tricks, but it was also visually great with (mostly) good battles. A bit long for a casual single-segment run, but some people enjoy that sort of thing, so I want knock that design choice. Let's keep the diversity of styles! Second, about halfway through I decided to stop looking at how much time was remaining so that I could get a more spoiler-free viewing experience myself. The tension was strong with this one! I was all queued up to write a comment about how incredible of a blind run this was and to congratulate you for successfully completing it. When that high damage homing rocket got you I threw my hands in the air and shout-whispered "WHAT?!" in disbelief. What a show! Third, I chuckled at how you no-clipped to the monster closet, but then walked back through the map as normal even though you started no-clipping right by the entrance and could have easily no-clip right back again. Haha, at least it gave you time to remember what else you wanted to say.
Dit is geweldige content. Al je content is goed, maar deze video is echt super. Decino zien ontdekken en niks van te voren te weten is echt leuk om te zien. En de map is enorm, waardoor de video ook super lang is. Meer van dit!
I swear, since I know nothing about designing, Decino I honestly thought you were calling it “cheesy” doom. After all these maps till this one! 😂. GZ doom. Now I got it.
Funny that this wad contains sliding doors as well, because just a few days ago i played through Sign of Torment for the first time, which is also complv 9, and at first i couldn't believe when i saw that it uses sliding doors like this all over the place. Maybe that wad served as an inspiration for this map? Sign of Torment was featured in last year's Cacowards, so who knows. It also really loves using transparent textures for doors. But i would be surprised if the idea of using Boom's line action 249 in combination with fake ceiling/floors to create fake sliding doors like this wasn't discovered earlier than last year.
When you died and that Cyber slid in I facepalmed sensing a meme nearby. Imagining 6 of those along with Archies during your blind run, only to lmao learn you can chill during most of the fight. The map was pretty fantastic, and is it wrong to enjoy some of your dread? lol - if I submitted a map like this though I would want to give you a little indication of what to expect since you host a RUclips channel. Nice run, a new map to check out. Thanks!
This map was an absolute odyssey! Mind blowing amount of detail, and not even just in some areas. Literally every corner is packed with sectors. Final fight seems like it was designed with an invuln in mind but they forgot to add it lol.
It's odd that you bring up the dream-like quality of this map--I will occasionally have dream wherein I'm playing an impossibly difficult DOOM wad with similar... uh, "off-the-wall" architecture. It tends to be oddly unsettling, bordering on a nightmare. Weird stuff!
Yay another long decino upload expect unlike the last one which was the TNT one which was multiple levels this is just one big boi map so looking forward to seeing what's in store I'll add a reply to this comment when I'm finished with the video. For now I'll just say that which normally ends my comment which is as always cheers for upload decino
Holy crap that revenant you but wow this map was something I was actually well into it really enjoyed watching this I can imagine it's fun to play in a scary not knowing what's coming next kinda way I mean it's a good question how are you meant to beat some of these fights without the bfg. I was thinking it had at least 1300 demon's in it I was surprised to see only 827 kills just seemed like a lot more to be honest maybe it's just the size of the level making it seem like there is more than what there is though still eight hundred demon's is quite a lot still but yeah definitely a good one certainly made my evening complete so cheers decino. Beautiful tribute at the end very sad thing though but they will live on not in only in their hearts and minds but forever more in this level as a part of the doom community
1:10:31 Fair warning to you, pumpkin man: if you ever get a map by me in an approved submission, don't expect Cybies to be quite that cheesable. There are ways to make their rockets come flying not from the center of their sprites, but from the actual bore of their bazooka arm 😉
I used to breed pekingese. He had that dog for a long time! BTW, at 10 years old, a dog has a 50% chance of getting cancer/tumors. Much easier to deal with if you can catch obviously. Pancur can treat it.

Wait, you think that 3 is not also a little too much?!
Also, sorry for your puppers.
How is the sliding door done?
Just wanna say, "One Who Bares Fangs At God" is excellent taste.
Glad someone's keeping Xenogears' spirit alive.
You are one saddistic F, I love it.
15:25
Doom players when they go outside and see doors that don't slide up into the ceiling.
*MyHouse flashbacks*
Holy moly, that is not Doomcute. That is Doomart. Made with great patience.
I just like the bit whereby Decino stopped dead in his tracks for a minute because he was so utterly fascinated by the sliding door 😆
Yeah that was so cute
'wow i hope there isn't some horrible final fight with 6 cybers and 12 arch viles in a cramped room'. literally that happens XD
Doom level design is an art form and an art genre all on its own. With a wonderful community gathered around it.
"DOOM IS ART" - some guy called Ducino on the Tubes
Mate. This whole round of viewer submissions have been outstanding. Your popularity amongst the community has I believe, given mappers the incentive to up their game and it shows.
Outstanding my friend.
EPIC.
I like how you said "I hope there's not like 12 cyber demons and archviles in a 5x5 room" and then you got pretty much that
decino: I'll kill you. You are very menacing
Cacodemon just standing there:
👁
👄
The Caco was struck dumb with fear of the wrathful pumpkin man 😮
decino in this map:
- It never ends.
- I want that Plasma!
- No! My Megasphere!
- A sliding door!
- It really never ends!
This map is incredible and this is possibly my favourite decino video ever.
I love the way you approach blind runs now, it's so entertaining to watch, and it's nice to see you approach a problem without fully knowing all the ins and outs. It's nice to have some variety :)
Just don't die lmao
Joking aside, I really feel your pain. Dying after more than an hour into a level is painful.
i dont always comment, but i have to say, this new style of not showing the map stats make the video much more interesting, glad this works!
Local pumpkin without ammo begs for the location of Berserk via text. Viles goofin entire time and wasting ammo.
Its so adorable to hear Decino begging for health and armor
This map gives 28-year-old me the same sense of wonder and discovery that 12-year-old me had when he first played Doom.
1:08:07 What was that you said earlier? You hoped the last fight wasn't a bunch of CyberDemons and ArchViles? be careful what you wish for!
I wonder if in real life when ducino sees a mud puddle, he asks if this is a damaging floor and steps into it.
First he punches the air to see if any monsters wake up.
So forgotten it's full of freaking arch-viles. This level reminds me of a Lost Civilization map with the aesthetics, the level of detail, and choice of music. The balance between risk and reward in this level is very well done.
It's Lost Civilization, but wired on coffee brewed with Red Bull.
This was a nice wad to watch and wake up to. Love every detail and absolutely love the choice of music
28:08 I appreciate that, even with a giant hole in the wall next to him, decino decided to take the few seconds to wait for the door to open xD
Imagine this with the extended hud on, it would have been a totally different video. What a beautiful example of the unlimited creativity and skills in the community! And great to read the explanations by the map maker.
"This map took three seconds to load" _looks at video length_ oh dear.
Just in case anyone was wondering, the MIDI is from Xenogears. It's called One Who Bares Fangs at God.
🙏
Direct translation from Japanese, right? Adapted to English it'd be something like 'The Godspurner' or similar.
thank you! i thought it had a mitsuda vibe, but I couldn't place it and wouldn't have been able to continue watching the video without figuring that out
Loacal man spends more linedefs in the starting room than I do in my entire map.
EDIT: 4 min in, this map looks like a mishmash that somehow works out. Reminds me of some of Fernito's maps (those who frequent Doomworld will know).
Both Fernito and Toasty.
Damn, decino pumping out that 1 hour + content like crazy!
I love it and hate it. Love it because hey, more Decino, but hate it because I don’t have 60-90 solid minutes a day free anymore. I gotta watch in pieces :( That’s a ME problem, I acknowledge!
@@Mugroar
That's an US problem, I'm afraid 😔
"Floating gore" should be a hardcore metal band somewhere.
This might legitimately be one of the bets maps I've ever seen in this channel holy shit
Idk why but the map so far is giving me mucus flow vibes. Must be the mystifying midi
Crazy map with an excellent and fitting MIDI!
Me in the morning: "Let's quickly watch the daily decino video before work"
Also me: "What the hell, it was just one vid, how is it evening already?!"
OOOh! I would love an Analysis video of the mapping techniques here: the sliding door, the deep water... I remember you mentioning the bridges en passant during Hell Revealed, Iguess, and Doom 64. I love those technical stuff!

Dude made an entire Quake 2 inspired hub in a single map. Loading zones are for the weak.
Funny thing is, with ZDoom you can make a hub level system. Wonder if decino would accept one of those in his viewer submissions.
Amazing map. What a journey. Glad to have experienced this. Shoutout to the doggo. Farewell!
sliding door: *exists*
decino: [visible confusion]
You absolutely predicted that final fight!
Amazing work! Very entertaining run. Danger around every corner. Map looked incredible. And you got the cyber and archi fight in a 5x5 room you wanted. Perfection.
Those 4 arch-viles stuck in those windows looked so gifted.
You know the "green stuff" in The Netherlands is good when:
"WOW, SLIDING DOORS!?"
Ah, such a sweetness in the Easter egg, hope the good kid rests peacefully
Quite a few times this round of viewer submissions I’ve been absolutely awed by the quality of maps we’re seeing. And obviously gameplay on point as always - amazing work all round
really great map! it was a beast! painful to see that death after 1 hr. laughed out loud at the "juicy" backpack and megasphere
Mind boggling levels of detail and mapping magic going on in this one. Bravo to the designer! Reminds me a bit of Eviternity map 32. Not in its level design but in its scale, adventure and tiresome grind.
I feel like that when the Cyber and Barons show up at 1:05:55, they look around them and think, "Ah crap, we missed it."
Wow that was epic! Kudos to you for playing maps like this for our entertainment! I really like the playthroughs you do of long brutal maps. And great job to the map maker, very creative!
Decino being shook at new boom mapping methods 15:19
such a cool map - awesome easter egg - great commentary and game-play - love hearing you stress out
Really enjoyed your playthrough of this map Decino! I have watched most of your content and even the tough livestream but this feels like the most edgy playthrough I have seen from you. You were worried and nervous from the start and that death really hurt us too! You did so well though. Really enjoyable the match of player and map and the way the whole adventure unfolded, thanks!
yes you can!
Damn bruh, that reliquary was forgotten as hell! I absolutely love this maximalist mapping style, shame my laptop can’t handle it. Awesome run with a lot of drama!!
1:05:55 I died just after you... by laughing at that Cyberslide hahaha
Oh my. Boom has been pushed off limits at this map. So insane. And difficultly just explodes at some point quite early.

this is what you get when you’re an excellent doomer, you get brutal maps submitted!! never doubt your abilities decino 🎃🧡
That Easter egg broke my heart 😢😢😢 Absolutely the sweetest thing. Awesome map too!!!
An hour-plus long video from Decino? Nice!! 😁
And those floating corpses... did the power of Christ compel them??? 😆
Amazing map, congrats anfractu0us.
And farewell, friend. 😢
¡Gracias!

watching you stack bodies around the arch viles. haven't seen the resolution yet but that's quite a build to a trap
Just having started the video, the BGM gives me huge Unreal vibes and that's a good thing.
Lucky he finds that door but glad he saved before getting fried so close to the end.
This map was an absolute odyssey! Mind blowing amount of detail, and not even just in some areas. Literally every corner is packed with sectors. Final fight seems like it was designed with an invuln in mind but they forgot to add it lol.
Nice Star Wars reference XD 49:20
Great, thanx! Very interesting design
0:59:17 Hope joined the chat
1:05:56 Hope left the chat
What a map, and what a ride of a video!
Just finished watching Dwars and Lightningboltforever and now I got you next then BMD has a livestream coming up.
54:43 The hellknights just wanted to make your health and armor nice 😎
Man have I missed a lot…. Good news is I won’t be short on any Decino content for awhile.
absolutely love the use of that MIDI instrument which I call "the Daggerfall Hi-Hat" 🤣🤣🤣the Xmas Hi Hat
Gratz to 180k subs!
Yay another long decino upload expect unlike the last one which was the TNT one which was multiple levels this is just one big boi map so looking forward to seeing what's in store
I'll add a reply to this comment when I'm finished with the video.
Beautiful tribute at the end very sad thing though but they will live on not in only in their hearts and minds but forever more in this level as a part of the doom community
Nice run pumpkin man
Thats lot of detail
1:10:31
Fair warning to you, pumpkin man: if you ever get a map by me in an approved submission, don't expect Cybies to be quite that cheesable. There are ways to make their rockets come flying not from the center of their sprites, but from the actual bore of their bazooka arm 😉
16:56 "I don't want to go down" I guess, going down is getting really difficult here
I used to breed pekingese. He had that dog for a long time! BTW, at 10 years old, a dog has a 50% chance of getting cancer/tumors. Much easier to deal with if you can catch obviously. Pancur can treat it.
Imagine the last fight if revenants wouldn't have killed decino. I think there were just stimpacks to survive it!
classic decino, never change
53:23
decino: "Something tells me this is going to be the end very soon."
Me: 😂There's a half an hour left.
omg, thanks to anfractu0us, now I know how to create the "sliding" effect for doors in Boom
Completely forgot youtube kills comments with links; hopefully decino isn't getting spammed by my attempts at linking the very much delayed public release! :^P
That said, I've posted it on Doomworld. The post is at /forum/topic/137938-forgotten-reliquary/. While I could keep fiddling forever with it, I've decided to call it as it is for the time being so I can focus on the next map :^)
Thanks again for hosting it while I buttoned it up for the public release decino!
Long, balancedish, fair, and fun. LBFF.
great looking map
It's kinda funny how different you play some of these maps. I see you entirely different at times!
