There are photographs of Ludwig II. And the AI recreation doesn't look so accurate, even if his portrait looks very much alike to his pics. Imagine the others.

Somehow it looks similar but it looks different as well. I think AI has misinterpreted the portrait paintings as they are either too simplistic or due to the 2D nature of the pictures. The jaw of the last person was noticeably weak (weak jawed) in the painting but AI gave him a chin to die for! So, I take these interpretations from AI with a heavy grain of salt.
...and we also have to presume the artists was good enough to paint an exact likeness which will is impossible to know. Just look at street artists, when they draw a person the likeness is pretty good for some and completely off the mark for others. All this AI is doing is just adding tone and skin structure on the literal interpretation of the painting, but it cannot be construed as truth. A lot of the AI imagery has "beautified" these people. Remember back then they were susceptible to bad skin and teeth.
You mean Ludwig? How does his jaw look any different? It literally looks exactly the same. Even that, there’s a literal photo of him that you can search up on google and it looks EXACTLY THE SAME as the reconstruction in the video.
@@BrianQuinXIn the painting, he has a noticeable overbite and his chin is weak. His upper lip protrudes and his lower right jaw lacks definition. And obviously, the small proportion of his chin in comparison to his sizeable head and middle part of his face is very noticeable. In AI, his jaw became defined and altered.
The artist's interpretation may have been wrong.

Reallyool to see. But I do think it tends to thin out all the women's faces. Even when the plump cheeks in the portraits seem to be overemphasized. Also, some of the eyebrow angles are not right.

Portraits in general, because they are to please the person who commissioned them, tend to magnify attractive features of the person depicted. AI ups the glamor to fit modern ideals, so no that is not really what they would have looked like. That remains impossible to guess.

What does this use to bring the historical figures to life
This is just bizarre. Most of the setting of the figures were likely non-existent, and done in a studio. But AI tries to treat the backgrounds and settings as if they're real. So much for artificial "intelligence". The results are creepy, not realistic. And the music is obnoxious.
I don't like that the women have mascara on, it wasn't done that way back then and you don't see it that way in the paintings either. Otherwise great.
