Absolutely insane arrangement for a timeless masterpiece of a track. Easily still one of the best Ys Final Boss themes and one of the greatest fights to this day. Just Adol fighting the Strongest Demon ever created. I love so much how they tied this boss (originally made in Wanderers from Ys) to the whole lore of Ys.

Gotta love Jamieson Price going all out for just a few lines.
Funny when the PC version got the voice patch, but they didn't change Galbalan's broken english before the fight. So he talks like a caveman when introduced, but then speaks in perfect english during the fight.

Honestly can't make up my mind on if i like oath in felghana's ost more or the pc engine version of 3
Though that said, I can't help but feel like their musical quality has slipped a bit in recent years.

Thinking back to this track gave me the courage to keep pushing through in my attempts to beat Malenia in Elden Ring. After a week I did it. When I was at a low point I thought back to this track and beating Galbalan - more than 10 years ago at this point - and I was able to keep going. There will never be another final boss theme like this.

First (if RNG is nice and he doesn't spam his targeted fireballs 3 times in a row) and the final phase aren't that difficult to deal with.

Man, my first play though of this game was on hard mode and this fight took me hours to beat. Music was awesome, but that opening monologue was burned into my memory for weeks.

Oh my god, this dude was a total *bastard* in Nightmare (Ping Pong phase isn't a problem for me anymore but 2nd one removes my Spirit Necklace -_- ) , but this music really gets you pumped up for the battle.

I literally thought this song was from Super Meat Boy Forever, just because a game made by a 2 year old had it as the final boss theme, it's still very epic

Quite easy to do btw. Just replace one sound file from the trails game with the file from the Ys game, since they use similiar sound systems, all it takes is to swap files.
@Dominotik Ivan Tulovskiy Oh yeah, and forgot to mention, but the file that replaces the other must be renamed to be the same as the file that was there before.
Was honestly thinking about doing this myself. I appreciate the fact that Falcom makes those files so easily accessible.

@@ProxDee222 honestly Singa is better than people give him credit for. IX just has the incredible misfortune of not being his best outing by any stretch in a franchise where the bar for music is incredibly high. Dude has potential, but it was horribly misplaced or misused.

No, this song was before Scias. You got it backwards.
I also played 7 before 3 and noticed the motiv. Great that this inspired Scias in some way.
Compared to a lot of other versions, might be unpopular, but I kind of dislike this track. Odd, considering most of Oath's soundtrack easily is as good as the PC Engine soundtrack. It makes lots of changes to the tight structure and groove-based progression that messes up the timing and impact of the solos. It's a lot of orchestral fluff that fails to just get to the point and jam like most versions.
Hey buddy , if you enjoy the older versions, that's great, but for me, i'll take this one over all of them.
Just my prefrence, nothing more, nothing less.
After listening to both side to side (PC Engine and this), the structure is almost the same with very slightly different pacing between the different parts of the song, but it's rather minor. Biggest difference between the tracks is the instrumentation. The "orchestral fluff" you mention is almost non-existent, with the sole exception being the part in the middle being slightly more stretched out than in the PC Engine one. I can understand preferring the older one over this one, but it seems weird to me that you actively *dislike* this one because of very tiny details, unless you overall just hate orchestral instrumentation in music.
