Always nice to see good use of the “reach around”

Great video. I had the same problem. I used "liquid nails heavy duty construction adhesive" to fix mine and didn't need to get the broken clips. I put a suitcase up against it for a day to cement it into place.

Good info. I assume the back side wouldn't have separated from the main seat if the car had stayed in the Bay Area

I’m always skeptical of using any adhesive products on cars in Texas heat. I’m worried the heat will breakdown the adhesive and leave me in the same situation. Hope this works out!

The super glue solution held up well in Arizona. That was on my original seats, but I recently swapped them for the sport seats. I don't anticipate any problems but if it fails, I'll just do it again.

The problem with this fix is that it will eventually fail again. I had two screws drilled through the attachments to make it a more secure and permanent fix. Porsche should have done this in the first place.

    Hi bro
I planned to buy a cayenne of 1st generation, which one is the best model? (Less problems)
    3.2? 3.6? 4.5? 4.8?

hi. As a 957 owner I have to say that all models have some common problems. But you can minimise the probability of experiencing them by opting for the following. Listen mate, this is just my recommendation so do your own research but hopefully this will help. For me I wanted to avoid the turbo models, air suspension models and if possible get a manual box. There are some things which just will present issues over time: one being the Cardan Shaft bearing, seat backs and transmission with the auto box. Get one which has been serviced regularly and keep an eye on the above issues - they should not be huge issues if you know what to do. Let me knw if you got one and which model you got.

The 2 clips at the bottom of the seat back have broken off and I think we threw them away. Without these, it does not stay up. Does anyone have a creative and secure way of replacing these 2 clips?

    • @bcgaming8842

get them via a 3d printer

Picked up a set on eBay. Not cheap - $40. Nothing cheap about owning a Porsche.

I have the same problem, but the 2 clips at the bottom are broken off and I must have thrown them away. Without these clips nothing keeps the seat backs up, not even gorilla glue. You cannot buy new ones as they are attached to the seat. Does anyone have any ideas about how to substitute these creatively but securely? Now there is a challenge for someone who can really help this issue. Please help.

On my original seats, I drilled holes in what remained of the bottom brackets and zip tied the bottom part to the seat.

@@CarFanatic I like that idea. I will see if there is enough plastic to drill small holes. Thank you
