  • How should you tell startup investors about your problems?
If there’s one thing I can guarantee you of, it’s that investors will find out about all your company’s problems before they fund your startup. So get the idea that you can hide your problems from potential investors out of your head.
Instead, I’m going to teach you in today’s video how you can use the problems your company has to your advantage to close your funding. In fact, I’ll show you how you can do this in one slide. I hope you like it.

Thanks Brett, very useful and interesting as usual. I had not considered that an investor may dig for information about what you are like to work with.

Nice video, Brett. The investors I worked with did not look much into how easy someone is to work with, but the slide on the biggest threats and how to address it is a very good idea. Thanks!

You say that we may or may not decide to share the Why we fail slide. Decide based on what? This is my first attempt to raise funds and I always felt it odd that there's no "Risks and how we mitigate them" slide on all these templates.

Many people are skittish about telling investors about their problems. Plus, as you point out, it is not a normal slide to put in a deck. Thus, I suggest you add the slide if you feel comfortable presenting this information to investors.
